I haven't had a single solitary issue with this modem since I purchased it...and I think I may have rebooted 3 times in the past 6 months. It is definitely a 'set it and forget it' network accessory. I get about half a gigabit down and 20 up into my place and this sustains my connection speed like a champ!

I had signed up for 500 Mbps from my provider, but was only getting 140 Mbps. Then came to know I had to upgrade to DOCSIS 3.1, I found this on Blackfriday sale and could not pass the offer. I am one Happy user, now I am getting a little over 650MBps with this new Modem

This is the best purchase for modem, I currently had (ARRIS SURFboard SB6121 4x4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem pair with router NightHawk X10) and start failing me with speed dropping completely to 0MB/s at times. Tested by connecting it directly modem to desktop and was getting same speed dropping. I have Blast (250MB/s DL & 10MB UL/s) speed from Xfinity Comcast, with the old modem didn't see speed higher than 135MB/s DL. That wasn't bad until it started to failed, then I realized that it has not been my IP fault I wasn't getting the full 250MB/s, it was me with an older modem with top DL of 175MB/s capable. I started to research to see what modem to buy and since I already have the router Netgear NightHawk X10 and no problem, I look into netgear modem and read the awesome review this one has, so I decided to go for it. Installed it and the first speed test I did it blew my mind with speed of almost 300MB/s DL!!!! Now it is a steady 250MB/s DL speed (+/- 30MB/s) I turn every device and streamed HD videos some ULTRA HD and not one ever buffered.

Many ISPs haven't gone up to Docsis 3.1 but this is backwards compatible making it future. This modem has 32 downstream and 8 upstream channels which is far above from what ive seen so far currently RCN requires 24 channels down and 8 upstream where as xfinity has yet to make the jump in most areas. This however is xfinity approved so you know its coming. There was a small issue upon installation but not to worry those are expected regardless of brand although i was surprised to find out netgear was little to no help regardless of the 90 day support printed on the box. If you have an issue as i did where it causes you to reboot the modem every 12 to 24 hours i would suggest calling your ISP and asking them to provision your modem after you perform a factory reset, this can clear a corrupt config file. The bottom of the modem has a http address with helpful features.

Replacing my older Netgear modem that was getting overwhelmed by the Xfinity internet speed increases plus it would lose connection too much. This one is much more stable and able to handle the higher speeds.

I had the same model prior to purchasing this unit. My last one went out on me so I got the same one again. By far the best modem I have had. Saves me from renting one AND I get FASTER speeds then rented ones. Super easy to set up and running with in 5min of taking it out of the box. Definitely recommend this modem if you are in the market!

We wanted to replace our modem router with a better unit then the one we have. This unit seems to be the right one for the right price was easy to install and it’s working really nice with all the different Wi-Fi units we have in the house. Purchased online with the easy pick up at our local store.

    The best Modem for Fiber!

We have Comcast Fiber and this thing works like a beast! I get 930 Down and 43 Up. I also have an Asus 270H mobo. My roommate currently gets 43 up and only 240 down, we think this may be because his mobo is a 170 and although the LAN's driver is up to date, it may not be able to keep up with that speed. VERY VERY easy to set up. Just follow the instructions.

Recently, I had moved and was forced to give up fiber speeds of 1000mbps up and down. The only provider is Comcast in my area, so I was forced into purchasing this and their 1000mbps plan. It works well after some adjustments, however upload speeds are not that great. Think that's my ISP however. Matched it with a nighthawk x10 and works smoothly throughout my house.

Solid cable modem. Was able to replace providers modem with this one without fail. Wish the interface was a bit better, especially with what Netgear offers. Also wish there was an additional ethernet port. Overall, it’s a solid investment.

I am not a techy. I wanted a modem that would satisfy download and upload speeds for the foreseeable future. I wanted a modem that was already well received from other purchasers. I wanted a fair price and I wanted a modem which had a straightforward setup. The Netgear CM1000 delivers. I am more than satisfied and wholeheartedly recommend it.

There's not much to say... This modem does what it says it will do. Speeds are excellent. Installation is easy. Activation is fairly painless (provided you get a savvy service rep when calling your ISP). Best of all: the lights on the face aren't obscenely bright (a common complaint with a competing modem).

Wow, fast modem. It will handle pretty much anything you need. If you have a static IP address with Sparklight you will need to get one that is wireless but other than that, it's a great buy. Maybe the "Best Buy" ;-)

After experiencing a sudden death of my 2-year old modem, I went searching for a stable modem with a good reputation. And I found it! With a number of devices accessing the wireless router, I needed a stable modem to keep everything running. Set up was easy and straight forward. I couldn't be more happy with the performance of this Netgear modem.

My cable connection has always been subpar in the SNR and downstream power levels but my Netgear CM1000 was up to the task and delivered a reliable connection day-afer-day. One important behavior to note is that it has plenty of ventilation and runs much cooler than other brands I tried. I have had no issues at all with it and it synchs up fine with 32 downstream and 5 upstream channels along with the ODFM channel to reliably provide my full subscription bandwidth.
