    It worked great while it lasted. When power was restored after the storm, it wouldn't boot up right. I tried factory reset but it didn't work. I'm sure, no fault of Netgear, but I returned it and decided to rent from my ISP. If it happens again, they have to replace it.

    Stable reliable still not getting the speeds cable provider claims I could get . That the cable company not device . Was put off with there patch cord old cat 5 would not support the bandwith the device claims it can do. Makes me wonder what kind of port is on the Back 100 or gig does not say anywhere I looked.

    It runs well, but run kind of hot compared to a Motorola. I liked the diagnostic screens in a Motorola better too. I bought this brand and model only because Motorola's model wasn't compatible with my current ISP and this one was. You can't change the user name in this modem either which is a security risk. That should be a basic security item and should be fixable with an update from Netgear.

    While there are a number of quality cable modems available, Netgear's products have EXCELLENT management software and integration with other Netgear products, (e.g. WiFi and security products). I picked this particular model as I wanted to be ready when my internet provider offers DOCSIS 3.1 support in the coming year.
