Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the product's impressive speed, strong performance, and overall ease of use, including its simple setup and seamless connection. They also appreciate its compatibility, DOCSIS 3.1 support, and affordable price, noting that it operates without lag and stays cool. However, customers are negative about the limited number of ethernet ports and, for some, the signal strength.

    Netgear 3.1 Modem 1 gig

The NETGEAR - 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem 1 gig is excellent for HD streaming, downloading and gaming while maintaining stable internet speeds. Once up and running it has maintained constant speeds. My service from the ISP is 1 gig so this modem fits perfect. When tested I get constant 850Mbps - 980Mbps. So far no random issues and complaints. Also, the ability to mange your modem settings is a huge plus.

Bought this when I switched from Comcast TV to Xfinity 800MB internet only. It runs 5 Apple TV boxes, 2 iMacs, 2 iPads, 2 iPhones, 2 kindles, 2 Ecobee thermostats, 8 Arlo Security cameras, and 2 Arlo base station/recorders, through a Linksys 4 unit Mesh system. All without missing a beat…. Seriously, what’s not to like?

I bought this cause it was DOCSIS 3.1. I was uprgading my modem cause Spectrum said i needed to to reach over 300Mbps. It turned out I didnt need a new modem as the one I had worked with Spectrum. Spectrum has a list of what modems work with their service. Mine was listed. So I didnt need a new modem. The funny part is that the new modem said it didnt work with Spectrum to begin with. I didnt see the writing on the box lol

Nighthawk lives up to the specs, and if you have metronet, it can handle the 1gig speed. It must be kept in well vented area, as it does stay warm.

Good modem that resolved some issues we have been having with consistent connection. Easy to set up and view the settings with the netgear app.

No problems with the modem..I have the cm1000v2 that was released to work with spectrum..seems the only way to tell it's a v2 is to open the box and look on the bottom of the modem..Do not waste your time asking the store manager as for he treated me terrible and I was forced to purchase and return 3 modems to get the one I needed.

I had to change my old Comcast cable modem and the cable company recommended this last version DOCSIS 3.1 Very easy set up and reliable . The only con is that you have to buy your router separately.

This has been a good modem with fairly easy setup on WOW network. Two problems. It comes with an added security program I don't need especially as it costs $$ per month. Half what my internet connection costs. Second I have problems with the network dropping off my PC while I have a network connection. Think I fixed that. A MS WIN10 problem. Took a while to find the limited data setting on Windows. I don't think it is the modem.

This Nighthawk modem has drastically improved my internet performance in my home. When all my family came home, my previous internet dragged. Now it just flys... and I mean fly. So glad I purchased this huge improvement.

I’d been renting a modem from my internet provider for a while and decided to finally just buy one since it’s more cost effective. Finally settled on this one after some researching. It took about 15 minutes to set up but I also had to call my isp to activate the modem on their end. So not that straightforward but not too difficult either. Works great and way faster speed than the xfinity provided modem. Highly recommend.

Great Modem but not for Spectrum Gig Internet

Bought this modem as I was upgrading from 300/30 internet speeds from Spectrum cable. I originally had great success with a Netgear M600 modem and wanted to go with something I knew worked. Though there were no issue with the modem itself the Spectrum installer will not allow you to use your own modems for gig internet. You have to use the company provided modems. Still would recommend this modem if you are not using cable gig internet.

Netgear makes the best cable modems

I have tried a couple of times to use those Motorola modems and they have always given me troubles. I upgrade every now and then because Comcast Service allows faster speeds, and unfortunately you have to upgrade your modem as well as the Comcast Service to take advantage of the faster speeds "more channels" if you want it. Netgear modems work great and I have a pile of them now from priors.
