I purchased this item because im sick of paying 13.00 every month from cable company. It works great and it was easy to install. I already have netgear router so im familiar with these products. I just happened to catch it on sale! Im very satisfied with this purchase.

Replaced my ISP’s modem with this Netgear. Set up was a breeze. You’ll need to register it with your IPS for it to work properly. It’s been working well so far. My internet performance has gotten better compared to the IPS’s modem. I am saving $15 in rental charges of my Internet bill. It’ll pay fir itself. This is modem only so you’ll need a wireless router.

For the last 2 years we have paid for 1G cable speed, but never reached anywhere near it on our computer. After going round and round with our cable company, we decided not to rent monthly their newest cable modem. After changing it our for the Netgear Nighthawk, we can stream and play games without any buffering. It is a real God send to us during the pandemic.

Initially, I had difficulty installing the new device in place of the old; COmcast's automated set up only recognized it in another place in my home. But it worked, for a while. Ultimately folks at NETGEAR determined that the signal I was getting from COMCAST was not to parameters. Once Comcast fixed it, it has worked great ever since.

I went with this stand-alone DOCSIS 3.1 modem in order to future-proof my cable modem setup. While most cable companies support DOCSIS 3.1, most modems can support high speeds with DOCSIS 3.0. If and when the time comes that DOCSIS 3.1 becomes mandatory, getting this cable modem will get you ahead of the game. You'll be fine without having to upgrade. Speeds are faster than the plan I pay for and I've had no problems.

(Note: If you are a Xfinity customer who has voice service, this modem is not compatible with Xfinity Voice because it's not a voice gateway, and the box explicitly states that.) If you're a Xfinity customer that really wants to maximize their home internet speed and maximize their home wireless speed, this is one half of your solution. This cable modem is DOCSIS 3.1-compatible so it will support all maximum bandwidth in that specification. All the hardware that Xfinity offers have sub-par wireless routers, so your better off using this cable modem with your choice of wireless router. I paired this cable modem with the Linksys EA9500 Max-Stream AC5400 MU-MIMO Gigabit Router. My home wireless internet is the fastest it's ever been. As an added bonus for Xfinity customers, if you buy this cable modem and register it with them, you no longer have to rent a cable modem from them at $10/month.

Purchased to we wouldn't have to "rent" one from the cable company. Easy setup and works great. Haven't had any issues.

Bought this to replace comcast modem works great only issue was dealing with comcast to connect it but I also bought eero routers 1st time we’ve had a good connection in whole house
