Originally I had the Docsis 3.0 CM700 (I think) and it worked fine for about a year. After that the Intel Puma Chipset that was in it really began to show it's true colors. My bufferbloat was through the roof, loaded ping would skyrocket to the thousands, even SIMPLE websites like fast.com couldn't load at ALL because my speeds were down to the kilobits per second because of that chipset.
This resolved ALL of those issues.
I'm currently on Suddenlink's 400Mbit plan, and it works absolutely fine without a hitch. I run a home based Minecraft server, 2 media servers, a cloud computing station, my desktop, my wife's desktop, two smart TV's and my eldest son's tablets, and our phones off this modem and haven't had any issues whatsoever.
However, the other day I called Suddenlink and was informed that "this modem isn't compatible with their Gigabit service" (Which is complete and utter malarkey and i know for a fact it can handle it since there are numerous times that my speeds have boosted in excess of 1.2Gbps while they were replacing lines at my junction box, and testing the stability since I'd had numerous issues prior due to faulty cables.
There are reports that people have gotten it to work, so I'm betting that it's going to be completely reliant on the 'technician' that you get over the phone and their relative level of skill in the field as to whether or not you'll get it working.
I DID have to have them authenticate the modem twice upon first configuration because for some reason the first load didn't work, so keep that in mind too.

Ive had this modem up and running for about a month now so im not sure how good of a review i can give. But i can say this modem is running a lot smoother than my old modem which was about 6rs old. We still get (but so far very few) times of buffering but i attribute that to our local internet service not the modem. Our family has a lot of devices connected from security, thermoststas, lighting, multiple phones, multiple pc’s & laptops and things have been running truly a lot smoother. And all family members have noticed. Only reason im giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because we’ve only had this unit for a month. So only longer term use will tell. But so far seems like a good buy in out families opinion.

I own an R7000 router from Negear, so I decided to also purchase the CM1000 modem from the same company. The setup was easy and the modem is both stable and fast. Please note that the product's firmware is updated by your ISP. My modem initially came with old firmware that needed to be updated by my ISP. I called Netgear to make sure that I had the latest firmware installed after my modem was initiated. Unfortunately, I had to contact my ISP again to upgrade the firmware. Don't miss this important step of the process....

My last Netgear Nighthawk Cable Modem was not giving me consistent speeds at all anymore. I decided to stay with Netgear because I was familiar with them and I have like them in the past. Although the last one seemed to quit on me a little sooner than I would have expected. So far so good on this one, my internet speeds have normalized, it was basically plug-in-play to set it up. The only thing I had to do was register it with Comcast and I was up and running again.

Modem has been working without issues for 3 months now - I've had to reboot it just once. Bought it as a replacement for my 5 or 6-year-old Arris modem which died on me at 6pm middle of the week - so had to replace urgently for WFH. This Netgear CM1000 was recommended by store associate as being top performer at reasonable price - thanks for the advice! So far no issues and supports advertised speeds.

I wanted to upgrade my cable modem and didn't want to pay rental fee's from comcast. This modem is blazing fast. I had recently upgraded my router with Netgear Orbi system and this was the perfect modem to pair with it.
This was very easy to install and I was able to configure it with comcast online and didn't even have to call them to complete the install.
Before installing the new modem my laptop was getting about 150mbps down and 11 up. After installing the new modem I was able to get about 170mbps down and 12 up.

I purchased this along with an Eero system to replace the Gateway from Comcast as I was getting inconsistent service. I have a gig connection and was experiencing buffering far too often with no help from Comcast. It’s very easy to install and despite the initial investment in the new equipment it works so much better with no buffering whatsoever. I have up to 15 devices working at once including TVs phones tablets and security system. Dump the Comcast equipment you will not regret it!

So easy to set up, offers fantastic speeds with ease of use. I called my IPS and was up and running with a new modem and new wifi service in minutes. Pair this with an equally fast router and youll have blazing fast speeds across all of your devices in your home.

I was looking for a way to save money on renting a cable modem from my provider, and I settled on this product. This has been a great modem- I currently run 400mbps download and a 40mbps upload. The only drawback that I have is it has a tendency to run hot in the power of the upstream bonded channels. This however might be a result of my cable set-up and not the modem itself. Otherwise this has been running great.

I upgraded my internet speed from my cable provider (Comcast Xfinity) and my old modem was limiting me to less than half of what I was paying for in the plan. This upgraded model was exactly what I needed to get the full speed (over 200mpbs) . Easy to install and when running through the Comcast installation wizard, they recognized the modem as well. Got it up and running in 20 min or so. Only con was that it was a little more than I wanted to spend on the modem, but otherwise very happy.

this modem was labled as compatible with my service provider. I had upgraded to gigabit level of service. The setup was easy on my side the service provider had to make several tweaks on their side being that the device was truly pulling the needed bandwidth but their system was being bottle necked. all got resolved and am always getting an average of 900 mbps. we can stream and work with such ease. The access point is also a Netgear product, together, WOW.

Comcast kept contacting me regarding my outdated modem, so it was time to upgrade. Since I don't like to perform incremental upgrades and I already have a great wireless access point, all I needed was the latest and greatest Docsis 3.1 modem. The Netgear 32x8 DOCSIS 3.1 modem is very fast. I was surprised at the small footprint and relatively low cost. It does generate a bit of heat, so leave some room around it so it can run cool. So far I am receiving 120% of the provisioned speed (300mb of 250mb) and I couldn't be happier!

This was a much needed upgrade to our LAN at home. Our modem kept crashing and is probably somewhat archaic by today’s standards (bought in 2012). Streaming is easier and now running two routers with multiple devices for a growing family. The kids will start having more requirements to play, stream, and learn online—this modem will make it much easier and faster to support their needs.

i love this modem it really pushes the limit in gathering all the bandwidth it can get, im paying for 400 MB and its giving me 480MB, thats like amazing, and it works with spectrum, but not for spectrum tv or phone, so if you have tv from spectrum then this modem wont work but if you just have internet then this is the way to go

Save the $10 per month you pay the cable company and buy this modem and your own WiFi. Easy to set up, and I get the full 800 gb connection I pay Comcast for. This also allows me to run a wire to a more central part of the home for the WiFi router, and I got a great router with better range than what I was paying monthly for from the cable company. It takes about a year before it has paid for itself in rental savings.

I am a gamer and I have found that the Modem is only giving me excellent results. We have it hooked up to comcast and we are getting the advertised 175down/5up that we bought precisely. I spent quite a bit of time researching which modem was best and this was right there at the top. I have it hooked up to a Wireless router that I bought from Best Buy. I think you will find that it is perfect. I also bought the 2 year best buy protection plan as the modem can run warm.
