Our goal was to save money, purchase a modem that was compatible with our provider's service platform and had great coverage and speed. The folks at Best Buy recommended this product and I have absolutely no regrets. It was a home run for our needs!

After 3 years, it's okay... The first two years, the modem worked without a hiccup. This past year though, I've had to power cycle it at least once per month with the occasional "reset" button. Which after looking at Netgear forums, this is a known issue. If it wasn't a pricer model, I'd have more forgiveness.

Just bought this for my gf and myself a motorola mb 8600 gig modem. Set up comcast Xfinity gig bit pro service on both and the netgear cm 1000 is still going strong and active while my motorola is having issues. I think its a comcast issue moreso but needless to say the netgear worked at my place initially before i bought the motorola and is still working well at her place while my motorola is not. I think its worth the money u save especially if u catch it on sale for $150 or so. The only downside is it does not have telephone capabilities.. u may wanna wait for the telephone capability modems that are docsis 3.1...

Recently ditched cable TV and upgraded my internet. Decided to buy my modem instead of renting. Saving over $125 a month. Fast modem. Can handle speeds of 1GBPS. Easy to set up. I bought it for use with WOWWAY cable internet and works great This is my third Netgear modem and they haven't let me down. I run an orbi mesh router system off the modem and haven't lost any speed. Best value around.

This is the modem for those who want to just "set it and forget it". I bought this one because I don't want a bunch of bells and whistles — I want a simple modem with a minimum number of connectors that is easy to set up and is powerful and reliable. So far I am pleased with this choice. There has been one power outage since I installed this modem. My internet was back up and running within minutes after the power came back. With this modem being more advanced than the 6 year old modem I replaced, I have seen an increase in data speed, which is good because I am very demanding of my internet connection. It seems a bit expensive for such a simple modem, but the simplicity and reliability is worth it to me.

Due to now working at home fulltime, I had to upgrade my bandwidth for my Xfinity circuit. Along with the circuit upgrade I had to upgrade my modem. Originally I leased a modem from Xfinity and it had issues with consistent speed and connectivity, so I decided to try the NETGEAR - 32 x 8 DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem along with my my Google nest mesh for Wifi. Its been over a week now and been solid, not reboots, speed or connectivity funkiness that was happening with the Xfinity modem.

My husband and I insist on using only Netgear. We purchased this due to needing a modem that can support 300 Mbps. We’re both in the technology industry and know what brands are the best. Netgear is very consistent and is very compatible with just about any device or service platform. We also have several gamers in our home and we never hear any complaints. We’re super happy with our Netgear purchase.

This is a great next gen modem. This actually makes your exisitng wifi faster. I have xfinity modem. When I swithced to this modem my speed went from around 170mbps to about 220 mbps just like that. Pair it with a netgear router it becomes even better. Its great small in size and easy store. Perfect next gen product with docsis 3.1

This modem has worked great for me. I have spectrum's 400mb plan. With my previous hardware I was barely getting 100mb in, I'm now getting close to my full download speeds consistently. I haven't any issues with the hardware needing to be rest or having to made multiple calls to spectrum for speed issues like with my previous hardware.

Solid cable modem. Was able to replace providers modem with this one without fail. Wish the interface was a bit better, especially with what Netgear offers. Also wish there was an additional ethernet port. Overall, it’s a solid investment.

Replacing my older Netgear modem that was getting overwhelmed by the Xfinity internet speed increases plus it would lose connection too much. This one is much more stable and able to handle the higher speeds.

I haven't had a single solitary issue with this modem since I purchased it...and I think I may have rebooted 3 times in the past 6 months. It is definitely a 'set it and forget it' network accessory. I get about half a gigabit down and 20 up into my place and this sustains my connection speed like a champ!

This is the best purchase for modem, I currently had (ARRIS SURFboard SB6121 4x4 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem pair with router NightHawk X10) and start failing me with speed dropping completely to 0MB/s at times. Tested by connecting it directly modem to desktop and was getting same speed dropping. I have Blast (250MB/s DL & 10MB UL/s) speed from Xfinity Comcast, with the old modem didn't see speed higher than 135MB/s DL. That wasn't bad until it started to failed, then I realized that it has not been my IP fault I wasn't getting the full 250MB/s, it was me with an older modem with top DL of 175MB/s capable. I started to research to see what modem to buy and since I already have the router Netgear NightHawk X10 and no problem, I look into netgear modem and read the awesome review this one has, so I decided to go for it. Installed it and the first speed test I did it blew my mind with speed of almost 300MB/s DL!!!! Now it is a steady 250MB/s DL speed (+/- 30MB/s) I turn every device and streamed HD videos some ULTRA HD and not one ever buffered.

Our cable internet provider upgraded our service to super-fast, but didn't even have any modems available that would handle those speeds and we would spend half of our internet time reconnecting to the home network. With this modem and a good router (TP-Link) our home network easily handles everything we through at it and no more getting kicked off at the most inconvenient times!

Best Purchase to be Free of Xfinity Rental Fees

When I finally decided to give up my Xfinity Voice and no longer needed to rent their proprietary voice gateway with subpar wifi, I started to do research for top-of-the-line cable modems and top-of-the-line wifi routers. The CM1000 is DOCSIS 3.1-certified, is supported by Xfinity, and will support up to gigabit ethernet. Setting it up with Xfinity was pretty painless. Haven't had a problem with it ever since I bought it. And now that I no longer have to pay that damned equipment rental fee, it will pay for itself over time. Must buy if you're an Xfinity customer! Caveat Emptor: If you have Xfinity Voice, the CM1000 WILL NOT support your voice service. Additionally, realize that the CM1000 is purely a cable modem and has no integrated wireless router.

We wanted to replace our modem router with a better unit then the one we have. This unit seems to be the right one for the right price was easy to install and it’s working really nice with all the different Wi-Fi units we have in the house. Purchased online with the easy pick up at our local store.
