The last straw

Owned for 10 months when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.If I was reviewing just the modem's performance, I would rate this 5 stars. It functioned as expected for the first few months, but I started running into issues that caused the modem to crash up to 6 times a day. I wasn't sure what the issue was so I phoned my ISP and then Netgear support after confirming it was something to do with the hardware. Netgear REFUSED to help me unless I subscribed to their $90 support plan. This would be fine if I was a business in need of 24/7 support, but that's not the case. The caller attempted to sell me this subscription plan 4 times before admitting they couldn't help me. This is the last time I will ever buy a Netgear product. Ended up buying a modem from my ISP to replace it less than a year after I bought it, and replaced my Netgear router as well (spoiler alert: they pretty much bricked the router with a buggy firmware update).

Worked when Xfinity's didn't

It worked for a bit then we got a new computer and it stopped working so they replaced it again. It kept resetting every time we turned on a computer, tablet, or anything connected to it. So I had enough and bought a Netgear modem/router and it was been working great ever since. Comcast uses an Arris modem so I would avoid them them.

This is a must in this new normal post pandemic

Went from 24x8 to this 32x8 lanes router and this is a night and day improvement. This is also a future proof since speeds tend to get better with the time a lot faster now. You won't regret upgrading to this unit.

Best Cable modem

Since buying the Netgear i have had no connection problems and my speeds are closer to my plan speeds. I have up to 20 devices running through the wifi and this cable has performed very well

Great for Sparklight

This was a simple and quick replacement for the Arris I was renting from Sparklight. Do this for yourself and save a few bucks each month.
