I was tired of dealing with Spectrum tech support. I finally made the decision to purchase my own modem. I currently pay for speeds 100 Mbps download, and 25 Mbps Upload. My previous Spectrum modem would not support those speeds. With the new DOCSIS 3.1, higher speeds are supported. Pair this modem with the Nighthawk Wireless Gaming Router, and you will not be disappointed.

However.. the moment you introduce your own devices into the mix, Xfinity (and everyone else) suddenly cannot guarantee download speeds and can only perform limited troubleshooting. Somewhat acceptable speeds reached my primary wifi router (I have 4 google wifi pods in the house) as intended but something at either Xfinity's end or this router was preventing my wifi routers from pushing the throughput to devices. VZ FIOS does not seem to have that problem. I am pushing high speeds down and up (300 mbps on FIOS and 1000 down and 35up on Xfinity )

SO glad I bought this. Nighthawk was simple plug and play. You need to call your cable company to give them the IP address but after that- I FINALLY was up to the 400+ MB/PS download speeds I was paying for. Also great to have a significant range increase. No more dead spots and no slow cable company rental each month! Simply incredible product.

Easy setup. check with your internet company to make sure its compatible. this one is not symmetrical.

To take full advantage of this modem, you'll need to subscribe to gigabit service from your ISP. However, it works well with the other tiers of service speed. You will also need a fast router for the best speeds to and from your devices, otherwise you're still limited to the max speed your router can provide. I have the Netgear R8900 and it works really well with this modem.

I bought this so that I wouldn't have to pay the monthly rental fee for a Comcast cable modem. Did some research and found this had the best ratings and had a price point I was comfortable with. I have been highly satisfied with the results so far. I've had no technical issues, internet is super fast and sends it right on to my router.

So far, so good!! This was easy to install and along with the companion router is saving me from paying Comcast each month for their tower unit, which combines a router and modem. I have also found that the system is giving me better coverage around the house than I was getting before, so I am quite pleased.

Great router - extremely fast and reliable have not had any downtime

We needed to get a new modem as our previous one was getting outdated so went on Xfinity's website and saw this one as compatible. Main reason we got this is that this has the 3.1 DOCSIS capability so once that is available in my area I will already have the modem to do it and not have to upgrade again. Right away we noticed an improvement in our internet services.

Pretty basic device that has given me 0 issues as long as I've owned it. I prefer to own my equipment rather than perpetually rent it from the cable company and this enables that goal.
