I use Xfinity only for high speed internet. I was having issues acheving my rated speed with Xfinity, and when they wanted to upgrade my modem with a huge monstrosity that also handled VOIP and TV, I decided to by my own cable modem that did JUST what I wanted and did it well...internet! Did research on BB site as well as online and decided upon the Netgear CM1000 as it was future-resistant (I do not use the term future-proof as the future is unpredictable). Teamed with my Linksys EA9500 WiFi router, my internet really flies. No problem installing, just follow the instructions and app and it fired up right away. In fact, I found out that Xfinitiy bumped my speed after the speed tests showed over 200 Mbps. Just make sure that your cable company takes your 'lease fee' when you turn in your old equipment.

For the price, this modem is great. It will work with any major cable company, since it supports DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1. Worked right out of the box, and looks good on my desk. Configuring it is easy, and it plays well with my Orbi router.

"Top Gun" Modem

This modem replaced my internet service provider's cable tv router/modem w/voice that had the been reduced to just a modem for the internet over the last few years as I eliminated the other services. Then I realized that I was not getting anywhere near the download speeds (250Mbps) I was paying for and knew it wasn't because of an overburdened router/modem or my Netgear R7800 X4S router. So I replaced the router/modem with the CM1000 and lo and behold happy days were here again! My expected download speed was not only achieved but exceeded as well on some days! Setup was a breeze even though I still checked in with my provider just to make sure everything was as it was suppose to be. The CM1000 coupled with my R7800 does not only satisfy my needs presently but will also do so if I need to make the jump to 1Gbps download speeds in the future. I certainly do recommend the CM1000 to anyone who desires "the need for speed"!

Needed an updated Netgear switch for a longer time. Earlier I was using Netgear router+switch combo but was not up to the speed capabilities I needed so decided to go ahead with this since I already have router mesh setup.
Setting this was real easy and took less than 15 mins from unboxing to using wifi connection through this new switch. Works seamlessly with existing router mesh network. No issues since. Highly recommend!!!

Super fast, easy set up....After dealing with the nonsense of AT&T, this smokes the "less than optimal" equipment I was required to pay for monthly with them. Haven't had to reset in over my first 6 weeks of use...Unlike aforementioned firm where I was having to reset every two days...

After an increase in speed by my Internet provider my previous Linksys CM3024 wasn't quite up to handling the speed increase. Of course Comcast/XFINITY wanted me to rent their modem/router combo but less than stellar reviews brought me to this product. It is Comcast approved and install was a breeze. Speeds jumped from 150 to 300+ download. One setback for a number of Comcast customers is those that want to use a wireless set top box for secondary televisions or the use of XFINITY Home Security "must" use XFINITYS modem/router. I call that a "Gotcha". No surprise however as providers want every penny they can get. As far as this Netgear Modem it is a 10+ and I highly recommend it. Not a single problem or issue. Rock Solid.

Works better than my Xfinity Gateway

I decided go with this Netgear modem along with a TP-Link Deco X60 WiFi Mesh system. I love that router pays itself off in under a year, and its equipment that I own. It works great with my mesh system. In 2 months j have no had a dropped connection. When I called Comcast to activate the new modem and remove the XB7 (I pay for a 1Gbp/s plan) gateway they provided, the tech on the phone asked why I didn’t want to use their equipment. Are you kidding me!? I explained to him how it was a no brainer. It basically saves you money in the long run and gives you much better control of the router’s settings. Make sure if you already have 1Gb/s that the modem your purchase is DOCSIS 3.1. A 3.0 modem will the allow that kind of bandwidth. The way I see it, saving $15 bucks a month for renting useless equipment is $15 bucks I can put towards upgrading to super fast internet. Owning the equipment is an added bonus! Oh and the Xfinity WiFi range is nothing compared to my new mesh system. It covers every corner of my 6000sqft house, where the Xfinity gateway needed extenders. And I refuse to pay Comcast for those ridiculous xPods.

Very affordable with the new DOCSIS 3.1 standard, and so worth the money. No connectivity issues, lagging, or speed issues whatsoever. Easy to set up and customize and getting well over 200mbps hardlined directly to PS4 and Smart TV. Best Modem I have purchased

Great Replacement for Older Modem

I replaced an older Surfboard 6141 with this Netgear CM1000 32x8 modem. I was not getting the internet speed I was entitled to with my ISP provider of 250Mbs. I was having frequent loss of connection issues during Zoom calls with multiple participants with my old modem and now the connection issues have stopped. The setup and connection of the new modem with my ISP was easy and the signal and speed is solid. I am using a older Netgear AC1750 router and I am getting over 275 Mbs speed now on a consistent basis. Very satisfied so far.

This router has worked out quite well. It started with an easy setup process and with a few resets over the first week has been working reliably. My service is at the 250 megabit level but I have consistently been getting speeds slightly above.

Easy installation, hasn't had a problem since purchase, and plenty fast. When Xfinity said my old modem couldn't deliver the faster speeds they provided, I went with this model and have not been disappointed.

It works and let’s you avoid a monthly rental fee.
It doesn’t get too warm, doesn’t reboot unnecessarily, the data stream is reliable, and it delivers about 960Mbps on Xfinity Gigabit.

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I am teaching all of my college courses over the net with Zoom. My ISP's supplied modem/router was constantly kicking me off and and breaking down during classes. I bought this CM1000 Nighthawk and WOW! Installation was pretty darn easy via a phone app. I scheduled one full day to make sure I could get this set up. It took about 45 minutes. The speed increased immediately and the my internet connection NEVER DROPS!!! I paired this modem with the NetGear AC1750 router. What a combination. Now I can get super speeds anywhere in our home. Love this!

This modem was simple to connect and does exactly what is needed. I use it to connect with my internet provider, Comcast. It allows me to connect my wireless router to the internet so I can stream my Roku TVs and other devices -- works great! The modem has to be activated through Comcast, which can be done by calling Comcast Support (you'll need the MAC address and serial number from the modem to give to Comcast Support. It's printed on the modem.) With this set-up, I save significant equipment rental fees and have begun enjoying streaming vs legacy cable service.

You only have 2 options when it comes to a docsis 3.1 modem. This one and a surf board. This one is cheaper and only has one Eithernet output line, the surf board has 2. No issues so far, my max download speed is about 800gb down 51up.

Bought this modem because I had purchased a high-end router thinking it was a modem/router combo, however this was a welcome addition to the setup. It replaced the previous Netgear Modem/Router combo I had used for almost a decade from one state to another. I think this brand has really solidified itself as an industry leader. The speed is fantastic and it pairs well with the router I purchased that runs wifi 6 technology. Extremely simple setup and will easily provide 7 or 8 devices with streaming capacity that doesn't lag.

My 8 year old Netgear router finally bit the dust. Got a newer model but same Netgear brand to replace it. Easy setup. After calling ISP and giving them the router numbers, internet was back up and running quickly. Numbers were a big high on the download power side so I added a -4db attentuator--download power numbers are now between +2 and -2.
