I picked this up, along with a router, so I could return my rented combo (modem/router in one) from my ISP. I am definitely not tech savvy when it comes to equipment like this, so I did my research by reading other reviews. This modem does exactly what it's supposed to do. It was simple to connect and I am getting all of the speed I'm paying for without the rental fee. It is designed to handle current/future technology so it should be viable for quite a while. This modem isn't cheap. You are paying for the technology and capability that it produces...but this will pay for itself in less than a year with the money I'm saving on inferior rental equipment. THAT, is great value!

Extra fast and extremely reliable. I turned this modem on about a week about and its worked better than expected. Registered it quickly with my cable provider and it worked right away. Also like that its future proof.

    Works With Spectrum!

I was concerned that the modem might not work for me since it specifically mentioned that it was not certified for Spectrum, but I wanted to future-proof myself so I purchased it anyway. It was easy to connect, and after a three minute call to Spectrum, it was up and running. According to the Speedtest results, my ping times dropped from always being in the 35-45 millisecond range to 12-15 milliseconds every time I tested my service. If you need a reliable modem that dramatically reduces your lag, this is the one for you!

So far the unit is working very well, speed on devices is quicker, less interference on televisions with WiFi 7 router. Just be prepared for some issues connecting with cable company.

After upgrading my WiFi plan from 15 Mbps to 1 Gigabit, I was required to upgrade my modem. During a few weeks of trying out different equipment to find out how to achieve faster connections, I decided to try out Xfinity own modem as well as this Netgear modem. Xfinity includes rental fees and really forces customers to buy their own equipment to save money in the long run. After two weeks of comparing both modems, I decided to return the Xfinity modem. There was no benefit to have the Xfinity modem since the Netgear modem provided the same speeds. There was no drop in connection at all. I was able to buy this modem when it was on sale and will save money in the long run by not having to pay for rental fees.

I purchased this modem in 2018 when I decided to stop renting the modem from Wow!. Since then I moved into a bigger house and I needed to buy a mesh router system. I read some reviews that recommended upgrading your modem at the same time as your router. I did some research and found out this modem is still the top of the line! I currently pay for 500mbs internet speed and I am consistently getting 550 mbs when I test the speed. I upgraded my router to the AX4200 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System and it has been phenomenal. Modem was very simple to install and it's easy to tell if it is working.

I have had this product for about a month now and it has been excellent sturdy network all the way. I hooked this modem to my Google wifi router and had no hickups as to restarting the network. (Its too early for that...) I may add/edit the review down the line but for now all i can say is "This is a great investment". I have owned netgear products earlier too. The value for money is always good for these. I owned a wifi router from netgear that lasted me for 4 years (bought for 20 bucks). This product considering its price shall certainly be lifelong :). The future index too seems good as this is DOCSIS 3.1 and not 3.0. Will recommend this product in a heartbeat.

I traded in my old Motorola DOCSIS 3.0 for this NightHawk DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem during Best Buy Promotion period last December. It was very easy to set it up with XFINITY/COMCAST cable service and now the download speed is about 450Mbps. This NightHawk DOCSIS 3.1 Cable Modem has been up and running for about one month by now and I haven't experienced any issue with it. I'll update if anything unexpected occurs.

I got this modem when I upgraded to a 1 gig connection from the Cable company. The unit the installer brought out was a DOCSIS 3.0 modem and was giving me pathetic speeds. I took the Arris modem back and they gave me the ten bucks a month credit to my account (win) and my speeds went up noticeably (win). When I called support to get things going I was reassured I did the right thing when all their support folks made glowing comments about Netgear. Their words "yeah Netgear is the best". I also have the RAX80 router and of course the modem and router get along famously. I am well satisfied so far.

After using other brands (Ares) and having issues here and there. I decided to go the netgear route after being recommended by Cox techs. Our if the box it is really fast and speed up my website load times to almost instantaneous. I do not have the highest cox package to take advantage of this modems max speed or anything close to it for that matter (150/15 is my speed) but it does speed things up due to having more channels and better technologies. Yes it is expensive, but it’s worth the money and is way more future proof than anything else besides the latest and greatest models just coming out.

Working Exactly As Hoped _ Comcast SLC

When I found I had access to Gigabit services from Comcast I had to make that critical decision of going with my own modem or paying Comcast $10/month to lease a modem from them. I was also told there was a mandatory home visit and $100 installation fee to get the 1 GB service. Instead I decided to forgo all that and buy my own modem. The reviews were pretty solid in other areas and I was hoping it would be the same for me in the SLC area. The installation was absurdly simple. It has been a couple months now and it is been functioning flawlessly. Absolutely no complaints and it was as simple as just ordering it online and picking it up at the local Best Buy. Easy and beat Amazon in both time and price.

I picked this modem up when my old SB 6183 modem failed. I had a 200 down / 20 up package with Spectrum and I decided to upgrade to the 400 down / 20 up new package for the same price as I was paying before. I called my ISP gave them the MAC id and was off to the races. This modem was easy to set up and log into and I was able to run speedtest at over 450 down and 25 up on a consistent basis. I would highly recommend this modem to anyone who needs a connection above 200 down.

This is a superfast 3.1 DOCIS modem. Very simple setup and doesn’t require any special knowledge of computers. It only has one Ethernet port, so you need to use a switch to have more ports. Doesn’t have any usb or phone connection either, but most people use cellphones these days. It also works great with apple products. You don’t have to worry about dropped connection or incorrect password screens popping up when using apple products.

The Netgear Docsis 3.1 is a great choice for those with Gigabit cable internet, but the limits of that speed are quickly realized if you are tech savvy. I purchased the CM1000 as it was the only Docsis 3.1 Best Buy sells in store. It is expensive for what it is. It has one gigabit Ethernet port on the back but claims a speed if 6Gbps for some reason. Maybe a later firmware update will reveal the lone Ethernet port is actually a 10Gbps port, but this is unlikely as Netgear labels it as a gigabit port. So why the 6 Gbps reference on the box? Because people do not care, so I returned the CM1000 for the Motorola MB8600 with four gigabit ports on the back that can be setup for LAG to at least get to 3.8Gbps if it lasts that long. I will say the D3.1 does make a difference. I have pings hovering around 11ms to 20ms which is good. I will say that if you do not have faster than 250Mbps internet, you do not need this, it will not help you. I have 400Mbps so the value is there for future upgrades which I think will be very soon. Comcast already offers 2Gbps to my home but for $300 or 1Gbps for $110. I opted for the 400 as they gave me a special which was less than my old plan if 150Mbps, why not right? The router is nice and works for what I need it for, but I needed more future proofing. It is nore expensive than other D3.1 modems with better hardware, so I cannot recommend it on those grounds. If it is on sale for around $120, get it, it is worth that price.

I needed a new cable modem for Comcast/Xfinity and was debating on consolidating into one wired/wireless cable modem, or getting a replacement basic cable modem. I decided to continue using my wireless router at home and simply replace the cable modem. I saw this gem quickly and for a decent price, even though it wasn't on sale. As I was only interested in the cable modem replacement, there weren't many choices but this was a good one. I purchased it, and installed it in minutes. Yes, literally minutes. No need to get on the phone with anyone. No problems with the instructions. Since purchasing it, we have not even had the need to reboot it. So far, very solid!
