I needed a new cable modem for Comcast/Xfinity and was debating on consolidating into one wired/wireless cable modem, or getting a replacement basic cable modem. I decided to continue using my wireless router at home and simply replace the cable modem. I saw this gem quickly and for a decent price, even though it wasn't on sale. As I was only interested in the cable modem replacement, there weren't many choices but this was a good one. I purchased it, and installed it in minutes. Yes, literally minutes. No need to get on the phone with anyone. No problems with the instructions. Since purchasing it, we have not even had the need to reboot it. So far, very solid!

I bought this modem to replace the modem I had from Cox. The most important reason was to use DOCSIS 3.1 and 32X8. Buying this also ensured that I save money on modem rental that COX charges for eternity. I had made sure hat Cox supports this model of the modem. Just be aware that it would not work if you have Cox phone. Ordered it online and picked up next day. Setup was quick and easy. The longest time was to have it activated from Cox. Have been using it for couple of weeks now and its so far so good.

    From anger to elation

Had problems with my internet service. If you guessed Comcast, you are right. Had a perfectly good working Motorola Arris 6181, but was told support for it was end of life. Of course they wanted to send me a modem so they could get some more coin from my pocket. I turned my initial anger with Comcast to opportunity to get a DOCSIS 3.1 modem. Of course the problem wasn't with my modem, it was with ComCast. I decided to keep this modem anyway and have been very happy with the performance and now I am prepared for even higher speeds.

Tested this modem several times, very solid and easy to use. Using it for 300 Megabit plan right now. Works very well with Docsis 3.0 and will work even better once I jump to Gigabit 3.1!

    Great modem w/Spectrum ISP

I purchased the CM1000 modem to replace the one provided by Spectrum. The modem was easy to set up. After a quick call to Spectrum for activation, the modem works great with Spectrum ISP. I have the 400/20 plan and consistently attain over those speeds with the new modem. I receive consistent and reliable internet connection to my Netgear Nighthawk XR1000 gaming router. There is a huge noticeable improvement over cable company provided equipment. I could not be more satisfied with my Netgear products.

Had this modem for a few months. It stays connected, doesn't appear to run HOT as did the Surfboard, and it works great with the commercial router. Consumers may have to contact the Internet provider to connect the modem... not obey directions to try and automatically connect and NOT call Netgear. Wish it had a way to create a user ID AND a password.

I'm so glad I purchased this modem! It is crazy fast compared to our pools cable provider's modem plus we save $10 per month on our bill so this will pay for itself in about a year & a half. Most people are just throwing that money away using an outdated modem that's been wayyyy overpaid for by now. We didn't want to buy a modern that would be obsolete by the time it paid for itself and this one fit the bill. Very top of the line, some people can't even get the speed this modem will provide you with yet so it's definitely worth the money, you'll be using this happily for years! I'd recommend having a great router as well.

    A Nice Upgrade

I purchased this router to work with my Xfinity wifi. I had to upgrade because my old one was becoming outdated. Once configured and connected it was easy. Had a little trouble on xfinity end with getting it linked to my account. However once setup it was easy. I like that it's smaller and takes up less space compared to my last one. I didn't need wifi on it because I have my own wifi router for that. I would recommend this to anyone looking ot upgrade especially if you're an xfinity member. Just keep in mind with this router you can't have xfinity phone as there is no phone input on this device.

So easy to set up, offers fantastic speeds with ease of use. I called my IPS and was up and running with a new modem and new wifi service in minutes. Pair this with an equally fast router and youll have blazing fast speeds across all of your devices in your home.

This modem has been a stellar performer with Mediacom ISP service. Setup took about 2 minutes, registration with Mediacom took about 1 minute (and it was automated - it knew there was a new modem hooked up and brought up the registration page). Speeds are equal to or better than the modem from Mediacom. I've has this modem for about 1 month and have never been down. Streaming all TV (YouTube TV), gaming, remote working and burn through about 2TB of data a month between 2 kids + adults. No issues.

    Works with Suddenlink (Sorta)

Originally I had the Docsis 3.0 CM700 (I think) and it worked fine for about a year. After that the Intel Puma Chipset that was in it really began to show it's true colors. My bufferbloat was through the roof, loaded ping would skyrocket to the thousands, even SIMPLE websites like fast.com couldn't load at ALL because my speeds were down to the kilobits per second because of that chipset. This resolved ALL of those issues. I'm currently on Suddenlink's 400Mbit plan, and it works absolutely fine without a hitch. I run a home based Minecraft server, 2 media servers, a cloud computing station, my desktop, my wife's desktop, two smart TV's and my eldest son's tablets, and our phones off this modem and haven't had any issues whatsoever. However, the other day I called Suddenlink and was informed that "this modem isn't compatible with their Gigabit service" (Which is complete and utter malarkey and i know for a fact it can handle it since there are numerous times that my speeds have boosted in excess of 1.2Gbps while they were replacing lines at my junction box, and testing the stability since I'd had numerous issues prior due to faulty cables. There are reports that people have gotten it to work, so I'm betting that it's going to be completely reliant on the 'technician' that you get over the phone and their relative level of skill in the field as to whether or not you'll get it working. I DID have to have them authenticate the modem twice upon first configuration because for some reason the first load didn't work, so keep that in mind too.

Ive had this modem up and running for about a month now so im not sure how good of a review i can give. But i can say this modem is running a lot smoother than my old modem which was about 6rs old. We still get (but so far very few) times of buffering but i attribute that to our local internet service not the modem. Our family has a lot of devices connected from security, thermoststas, lighting, multiple phones, multiple pc’s & laptops and things have been running truly a lot smoother. And all family members have noticed. Only reason im giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because we’ve only had this unit for a month. So only longer term use will tell. But so far seems like a good buy in out families opinion.

Modem has been working without issues for 3 months now - I've had to reboot it just once. Bought it as a replacement for my 5 or 6-year-old Arris modem which died on me at 6pm middle of the week - so had to replace urgently for WFH. This Netgear CM1000 was recommended by store associate as being top performer at reasonable price - thanks for the advice! So far no issues and supports advertised speeds.

My last Netgear Nighthawk Cable Modem was not giving me consistent speeds at all anymore. I decided to stay with Netgear because I was familiar with them and I have like them in the past. Although the last one seemed to quit on me a little sooner than I would have expected. So far so good on this one, my internet speeds have normalized, it was basically plug-in-play to set it up. The only thing I had to do was register it with Comcast and I was up and running again.

I own an R7000 router from Negear, so I decided to also purchase the CM1000 modem from the same company. The setup was easy and the modem is both stable and fast. Please note that the product's firmware is updated by your ISP. My modem initially came with old firmware that needed to be updated by my ISP. I called Netgear to make sure that I had the latest firmware installed after my modem was initiated. Unfortunately, I had to contact my ISP again to upgrade the firmware. Don't miss this important step of the process....

This modem replaced one rented from Astound. It is faster and appears more reliable as it stays connected better than the rental. It was so easy and quick to set up.
