For it's price it does not have a premium feel to it.4 stars for it running hotter then most other modems as other people have stated.

Good performance from cable modem

We have had several occasions where the system lost internet and had to be rebooted. Otherwise I would give this a 5-star rating.

Suddenlink Service Rep claims wont work for 1 gig

It may but Suddenlink rep claims it will not work with Suddenlink service which requires DOCSIS 3.0. Apparently it did not because Suddenlink never activated modem. Hard to know for sure but returned for another Netgear product that supports DOCSIS 3.0 and is working fine. Return to Best Buy was easy and efficient.
