Not Reliable

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've been working in computer networking for 20 years and have worked with all manner of network device and I'm using a 1-week old router from Spectrum (my connection directly to the wifi router is great). This Nighthawk extender has dicey 'quick setup' software on android and I could never get it to actually connect to my phone. I ended up using the WPS connection buttons on the router and extender. It works, however, the extender will not pick up the 5G network and the 2.4 connection drops pretty often. I cannot use it for working from home because the VPN to the office constantly drops. The signal is strong, but the firmware was probably released before it was ready. I'm living with it, but I absolutely wouldn't buy this again or recommend it to anyone. I'm disappointed, especially because it's supposed to be a fairly high-end product.

Okay Wi-Fi Extender!

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had purchased the Netgear EAX80 Wi-Fi extender in hopes of extending my Netgear R900's range and unfortunately, the signals I received were mediocre at best. I reason that the signals were mediocre were because I have an older home built with concrete and many walls, thus, I think the signals weren't able to penetrate as effectively plus having internal antennas I think contributed to the problem. Overall, this Wi-Fi extender works but just not for me and my needs.

Works great, Hi speed WI-FI

Placed this upstairs and now we have Wi-Fi speeds at least 500 MB/s (depends on your modem speed). Streaming is not a problem. Used as an Access Point. If you are going to use it as an Access Point - Read the directions for setting it up.

Not what I expected...

While it did extend my wifi, it didnt make it any better. It was a waste of money. Had to go back and return it. Im just going to wire my old wifi router to the one I currently have since that works better than this extender.

My office had spotty wifi reception from the Nighthawk Router based on required location in the house. I was fortunate in that I was simply able to plug this in to a wall jack for the ethernet and get great new capability in the far side of the house. I recommend.
