A: Ben, All it needs is its own power cord which is included. I found set-up incredibly simple, and the unit, purchased to extend WIFI to my workshop, works flawlessly. I hope this helps in your decision. ~ VOR
Q: What is the coverage area of this product? Coverage area not mentioned in the technical specs
A: Hi Dbasu, If mounted on a pole 20 -30 feet off the ground outdoors in an open field, This would have a HUGE WIFI signal footprint. But assuming that you'll use this INDOORS, there are too many variables in each situation to give a straight answer, The walls, floors, and ceilings in a home or business, plus their composition and internals -wires, pipes, etc.-can have huge effect on WIFI signals. In my situation I use this product where it must grab a router signal passing through 3 walls, and send it along through 2 more into my workshop and back again, which it does flawlessly. I now have as good WIFI in my semi-detached shop at the rear of the house as in the living room or den. Remember, if it doesn't work in your situation, they'll accept a return. Hope this helps your decision. ~ VOR
A: It cannot be mounted outside.
Q: Will this boost my internet speeds at all? I have century link. Is it compatible ?
A: This does not increase internet speed. Speed is dictated by your provider. That said, your router can decrease speed if its old, not configured properly, or has to many things connected to it. Think of the router as the box everything comes into before going out on the internet pipe provided by your ISP. The box in question is an extender, that will only be as fast as your router or internet speed (whichever is slower). The good news is that this thing is a power house and will most likely handle anything you throw at it... As for your second question. its not a question if this extender will work with the provider but rather will it work with your router.
A: Yes you can do that. It’s like having it hard wired
A: I use att fiber which is the same thing. I went from 50 mbps to 250 on my outside patio with apple tv. I just connected the apple tv to extender with a Belkin cat 6a ethernet cable. Im purchasing another for my bedroom as its even worse in there
A: I'm not 200 yards away but my TV stopped buffering after I installed it.
