Customers regard the Nighthawk EAX80 AX6000 WiFi extender as having excellent range and ease of use, with many praising its simple setup and ability to extend WiFi 6 networks. However, some users experienced connection issues and inconsistent performance, leading to negative feedback. The accompanying app also received criticism for its functionality. While many found the extender improved their WiFi coverage, concerns were raised about the value for the price.

Upgraded to Netgear's WiFi 6 back in March due to Covid, and I had been researching upgrading to WiFi 6 for about a year anyway - finally purchased Netgear's Nighthawk RAX 80 (from Best Buy!) to replace their old WNDR4500. Since I have about 40 wireless devices now in the house, and use wifi in the basement for workouts, I accepted the RAX 80 signal wasn't quite strong enough to sustain full high speed all throughout our 2600 sq-ft house (not including the basement). I was generally ok with RAX80 consistent performance (not overly satisfied though for $300) and ability to handle lots of devices, so I figured I'd complement it with this Netgear AX6000 to keep the wifi network at top-shelf performance for the next 8-10 years. Well I was wrong. RAX80 is on our 2nd floor. This AX6000 box, which was placed on the other side of the house on the first floor (about 30-40 ft away through 4 walls), only gets about 300 mbps connection on the 2.4 GHz band, and 200 mbps connection on the 5 GHz band. This is about 8% of the unit's total connection speed, and yes I tried other radio bands. Rather than waiting for a fix, which Netgear does very slowly and ends up breaking other things that worked fine, I'm just taking the unit back. It's overpriced (just like the other new Nighthawk routers), it still doesn't auto-upgrade firmware nicely at all (I had problems with this brand new out of box, which required a factory reset, and it doesn't even connect at anywhere reasonably close to advertised speeds. Don't buy it, and if you were brand loyal to Netgear, they aren't the same anymore. Go with a different brand for WiFi 6. Best Buy as usual is great - still love this store.

Second extender, nice user interface. Recommend using 2GHz for connection to RX80 + 5 GHz local to extender. Internet is fine around Long 2000 sq house.

I like that it has 1Gig Ports. My neighbor was over whelming with his wifi. I noticed this when I used a wifi analysir. HOWEVER, it keeps on occasion disconnecting on frequency 5GHz. And it keeps disconnecting my Echo that's on the same room.
NETGEAR, please have a new upgrade to download. Just in case my home is under 1200 SF. And my ISP is CenturyLink with 1GHz of speed using Fiber optics.

i managed to get it working but it does mess up all my other connections with my wifi 6 router. it's not really needed for an extender. very annoying connection and it says it's connected but there's no internet in my house. would not recommend this to anyone who has a nice wifi 6 router already.

Awesome. My house is a huge upstairs / downstairs home. And the WiFi signal is weaker on some areas of the home. Not anymore with my new Netgear extender. This device is sweet where the signal in the house is powerful.

I was an early adopter to wifi 6, and it works great; however, the wifi router is in our basement and we didn't get great coverage on our second floor. This extender solved all our problems.

I had myself all ready for a fight to get this set up after I read a few negative reviews. But it was so easy! I just plugged it in, turned it on, and pressed the WPS button on the extender and the router and presto! WiFi everywhere!

Seems like an easy upgrade. But here comes the frozen set up screen while updating. Then ONCE it connects to your home network. ... Here comes the connection errors. " Can't connect " super ! For $250 ... I expected this to be a rather seamless addition to my gig Xfinity connection. This was a 1.5 hour adventure into nowhere . A time vampire. Once it connects , it crahes. Or simply does nothing different than what you had before. ... That is before is doesn't connect again. Beyond disappointing. I'm sure if I spent 4 hours with tech support , we could get this to work. But for this price point. It needs to be out of the box ready. This is complete garbage.

I bought this product to extend the signal of my router to my downstairs. I wasn’t impressed. The speed from the extender was quite slow compared to actual router (not even half) and I didn’t notice any change in signal whatsoever. However, I will give 2 stars for easy set up.
