Powerful and fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love this product, and it is working beautifully. I got it to extend WiFi to the backyard, as the pool and gazebo are at least 50 feet from the house and were getting inconsistent WiFi at best. Now I have seamless coverage throughout the entire backyard. I would just like others to note that, in order to take advantage of the mesh features, you MUST update the firmware. I had not noticed this on the original description, and I was frustrated that two ext networks had been created. I saw that others voiced the same concern, so I wanted to explain how to do this for those who, like myself, may not be so technologically gifted. After setting up the device as described in the instruction manual, make sure you are connected to one the ext networks and go to www.mywifiext.net. You have to sign in (I think you make up an account, but I don’t exaclty remember; either way, it is self-explanatory), and it should tell you you can update firmware. If it doesn’t, you can also see where it says updates and search for updates. After that is complete, you go into settings and change them to allow One SSID and Smart Roam (or something like that, you get the idea! I don’t exactly remember what the two things said, but it was obvious). After that, only one network name will be shown, which will be the original network name. With roaming enabled, you’ll be able to enjoy your connected devices with no dead spots and without having to manually change networks. Enjoy!
