Q: how do you connect this? do you just plug it into an electrical socket or do you have to connect it via ethernet to something, or something else?

A: Just plug into an electrical outlet and follow the simple instruction

Q: Can I use 2 of these on the same wifi system? I already have one, and had to recently move my cable modem from the middle of my home to an outside wall at one end, and even with this one extender, I can't get full coverage in my house.

A: You can use as many as you want. The more you have the better WiFi you will get. That’s how the mesh system works.

Q: Has anybody used this to boost the wifi signal for ring cameras?

A: Yes, I used it to set up Ring Doorbell 2 and Ring Doorbell Pro at the same time. See my review for this NetGear Product. It was a little more expensive than other extenders which might have also worked but I did not want to take the chance and have to bring it back. This one supposedly covers 10,000 sq. ft.

Q: Does it cut the internet speed in half?

A: No, the NETGEAR EX7300 AC2200 EXTENDER does not cut your Internet Speed in half. I am in the IT business and we use these quite often in Residences where there is no cabling to the back half of the house and the Wi-Fi signal needs to be boosted/repeated/extended from the main router. Best part about it for us is that it has an Ethernet port on the bottom of it so you can connect a network switch to it and connect several wired devices to it in order to gain Internet access or networking ability to those devices. You may not achieve the full speed you would get from the main router but we only see a loss of about 10% or so in most cases.

Q: I have a night Hawk x6 R8000 router on the main floor of the house. Our family room is in the basement an the wifi signal down there is very weak. Would this work with the router I have an boost the signal in our basement.

A: It should work. I have nearly 5,000 square ft of living space on two levels and I conducted a speed before installing the extender and my signal was getting 3 Mps after using the extender the singal.is at 88 Mps.

Q: Does this really boost up the ps4gaming system.?

A: Yes.. that was my sole purpose in purchasing this model, my son is a big online gamer on the PS4 and the signal was awesome. He hasn't complained once since I purchased it

Q: I know I saw the question regarding if this is compatible with Xfinity/Comcast ARRIS Group, Inc. tg1682g Modem. Question I have is, does it provide excellent wifi strength to my upstairs going through ceiling and multiple walls? What's your experience

A: Well it depends upon where everything is. You should position this device "midway" between where your router is and the current dead zone. Then it can connect to your existing wifi and extend it into the area that doesn't have good coverage. I can see and connect to it thru a couple of walls and a floor. Regular US frame construction although one wall is a 2x6 wall instead of a 2x4 wall.

NETGEAR - AC2200-Nighthawk X4 WiFi Range Extender
Pros: Easy Setup, Compact Form Factor, Name Brand Recognition and Reputation, Bought it to get my ADT security camera on my wifi network. It was up and running in ten minutes. After the initial setup, I moved it a couple of times to get it out of the way and each time i moved it, it immediactely flound the network. Con: On the expensive side.

Great product, works better than expected
With both my wife and myself working from home internet access has become even more important than pre Covid. Her work needs require her to plug her office phone into an Ethernet connection. Where she is working though is no where near our router and moving either her or the router was not a desirable option. Initially we solved this dilemma with a 50' Ethernet cable running through our house. Not through the walls, but on the floor, along walls and down the stairs. I put throw rugs over it to protect it and prevent tripping. I read that the NETGEAR - Nighthawk X4 AC2200 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Range Extender had an Ethernet port and decided to give it a try. Once set up we plugged her phone into the port and it worked. Her computer is connected via Ethernet from that phone. When I ran a speed test on her computer vs my computer which is a desktop plugged directly into the router I noticed only an 8% drop in speed on her computer. This is negligible and has had no noticeable effect on performance. I found it to be just a bit finicky when setting it up and found using an Ethernet cable for setup instead of WiFi worked better for me. Once set up though it has worked flawlessly for just over a week now.

Outstanding Performance!
I added the access point/ extender to my existing Netgear system to provide reliable wireless service in my garage and hopefully in our yard. It works fantastic. I would recommend this unit to anyone who desires reliable, strong WiFi signals. And it was super easy to setup!
