Didn't work well with a Tri-band router

The problem is that this particular extender doesn't work well with Tri-band routers. I have a Netgear router and I thought the two would work together well since they're from the same company, but it constantly dropped the signal. It did boost the signal when connected, but the constant drops made the product useless for me. I ended up returning it.

Great Wi-Fi Extender!

With this extender, all of our wi-fi equipment now works perfectly, where before we were constantly dealing with poor signal quality in parts of our home. Problem solved!

Easy Set up and Fast results!

It took me some time to get it up and running. Excellent ethernet throughput for TiVo Mini Vox. Stable with current firmware, no issues.

This Extender Sucks!

Once i unplug it my internet in my home is restored. The number the Nighthawk app gives connects to some foreigner who wants you to pay for his service. I told him I'm not paying him for his assistance and he hung up on me. When i tried calling back he blocked my number. Netgear did you only hire 1 guy halfway around the globe as your IT department? What a joke

Poor Set Up Instructions - Not User Friendly
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.After reading the manual three times and understanding about 10% of what it said, mainly because it referenced button descriptions that are not on the product, I called Tech Support. It isn't that a customer service number is part of the set up manual, I had to use Google!! My tech support person was engaged, but unable to make the device work. We spent an hour trying different strategies to pair the device with my router without any success (a Comcast device). The manual is poorly written, the set up is impossible to make work. Nothing we did would make the Extender pair with the router. A waste of time.

Piece of Junk to be Avoided
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bottom line, does not work. Speeds are slower than when accessing my Dlink 890L router directly. Does not eliminate dead spots. Frequently loses connection to internet. Spent a full day installing, resetting, relocating, rebooting to try to get it to perform. Many calls to Netgear (they answered quickly with a ticket number provided online) but their tech support is in India and frequently speak with such heavy accents that they cannot be understood. The phone connection to India is often very poor. Regardless, the tech support can only read from their scripts and they provide no useful answers. The device takes several minutes to reboot which is crazy. The device interface is poorly done and only available via browser which frequently gives "404 Error Not Found". Netgear's products should be avoided unless you like wasting a lot of time. I will be returning the device for credit this afternoon.

I am hardly a tech neophyte, but this device is not worth the plastic casing. Set-up was almost impossible. Then, after it never asked me to establish a user name or password during set up, it would not allow me to customize the product without giving a user name or password. When looking for customer support on the Netgear website, I challenge you to find a phone number for any help whatsoever. This product is going back tomorrow. I will never buy another Netgear product. Life is just too short.

DO NOT BUY!

The required app did not explain what passwords it was looking for and Netgear apparently doesn't believe in human customer service. I tried resetting passwords, network settings, different devices, and all of the passwords I use uncluding the factory reset passwords for the router. NONE of that allowed the app to connect the device to the router. Not only will I be returning this infernal pile, but I will not be purchasing ANY Netgear products due to their very poor customer service. VERY dissatisfied!

Doesn’t seem to work
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this extender, updated the firmware, factory reset, and set it up as instructed, but it didnt improve my speeds or reliability of my connection at all. My router is in the basement so the signal isnt the greatest on the second floor. This didnt provide any noticeable improvements. I even purchased a new router, factory reset again, and set it up once more and still no improvement. So for me it is an expensive paperweight.

Many Issues

IF I set it up for using one SSID, which it is supposed to do, I have to constantly refresh the WiFi on my devices. When I set it up with different SSIDs then the speed drops WAY log. I contacted the vendor in the first few weeks but no help. I am past the time I can contact them so I will use this unit until I find a better one. Don't waste your $$ on this.

Could not get it to work

This definitely takes WAY more than a few minutes , as they advertise, to set up( if you can even accomplish that). This is NOT what I signed up for. P.I.A. Waste of time and money

wont stay connected
