Worth it if you have the internet speed

Doubled my down speed from the RB50. Easy setup and as it doesn't have as many of the admin features that I would normally like, the speed makes up for it. I get about 950MB down where I was only getting 450MB. Upload speed is around 950MB as well with my ISP. Not worth it if you don't have at least 500MB down, the RB50 would be fine. If you have at least 1GB connection from your ISP you will see a difference.

How to get the satellites to work

This product may be named RBK853 AX6000 or RBR850. I'm not sure. It has all three of those names but depending on where you look only one of them applies. Anyway, the satellites need a firmware update or they will not be recognized. I connected the satellite to the router using a CAT 5 cable, then with my laptop connected wirelessly to the router, I entered the admin interface by accessing my browser and hitting its IP address on my local network. The DHCP of the satellite is shown in an advanced tab. If I go through the detailed Network activity logs of the router and find that DHCP address, I can get the IP address of the satellite. From there it’s simple. I find the support page for this device on netgear.com using one of those product names, and find the firmware file to download to my PC. I can then connect to the satellite, once have I googled the default password for the satellite (not the same as for your router). Then I can upload the firmware manually and apply it then reboot the satellite. Easy! Honestly this a a fine consumer product that any family can use and these steps are totally obvious to anyone of any technical skill level.

It provides excellent coverage for my home which is over 4000 sq ft. No drop in signal. It is pricey but so far I'm satisfied.

Installation is pretty simple. I had to move two units around a little to get an optimal association of wireless devices. Sometimes a wireless device connects to a farther unit when there is one within line of sight. Like the mobile app that tells devices connected, frequency, and connect speed. For some reason there is a phantom router that shows as part of the ecosystem.. but it doesn't really impact anything. Size is pretty big. Kind of expensive. New, smaller unit, introduced shortly after I purchased this one.

I regret buying this system. What used to be basic functionality, like controlling or pausing devices on your own network, is now locked behind a subscription. That’s unacceptable for a product that already costs this much. Over the last several months, features that used to work either stopped working or were moved into Netgear’s paid “Smart Parental Controls.” So now, if you want real control over your own WiFi network, you have to keep paying for it. This whole subscription trend is getting out of hand, and Netgear is fully leaning into it. You’re not really buying a complete product anymore—you’re buying hardware that still requires ongoing fees to do what it should’ve done from day one. At this point, there’s honestly no advantage over just using your internet provider’s equipment. I expected more for the price. I won’t be buying Netgear again. If device control matters to you, I would strongly recommend looking at other brands before making this mistake.

This double orbit system has been the best Wi-Fi system we've ever had! The system is rated for 2.5 gigabytes so it's good for the future as well as it is ready for now!! The speed seems to never slow down we have one inside and 1 outside so the house does not slow us down I love that you can hook in directly into it or you can use it as a wireless point. The best thing that I truly love about this is a one system instead of having multiple Wi-Fi systems with extenders through your house.

Has good range and great speeds. However, I do experience some disconnections from time to time. I believe I have a faulty unit so I am planning to exchange it.

Excellent reliable wifi coverage even over a relatively large cinder block home. Little tricky to initially setup especially if using a wired backhaul but once established very stable.

Prior to this system we were always having issues within our house. Once we got the Orbi system things have been so much better. We get the speeds we should and no one has issues. The system handles ALL of our devices. Including our smart products. We are able to work from home and stream movies and play games without any issue. I will always recommend the Orbi Wifi 6 system. Especially if you want to remote manage your system or just see what is going on while you are not at home. It is user friendly and an awesome product.

My old Eero wireless mesh was not able to handle my gigabyte per second speed so I upgraded to Orbi. I have a 3000+ square-foot home that’s really spread out so I had 3 Eero’s that did pretty well for coverage but were old so the speed was not sufficient. Unfortunately for Orbi (LOL) they were out of stock of the three pack, so I thought I would just try the two pack and add the third one later. These bad boys are so powerful that this is ALL I NEED. - I hope this review helps somebody! No issues with set up, super easy. The app is great, a little better than my previous app.

This mesh network setup works really well. I had an older version of this system and it would still drop in my apartment. This setup is awesome. I had it inside my apartment inside of a media enclosure with the other one outside in my garage. In the garage, because its so far, it occasionally drops but stays connected majority of the time and my garage is far. It is not an attached garage. Would recommend to anyone especially someone in business. I get super fast speed with my 1gb internet often times over 1gb download speeds.

The Orbi AX6000 provides me with blazing speed, but we've found that 2 is not enough for our 5000 sq ft house, and there are a handful of dead spots. With individual satellites now on backorder, it's a bit frustrating. That one issue aside, the setup couldn't be easier, the app is super easy to use, and for the most part, you'll get amazing speed throughout the house. If you're needing QoS tools, know going in that Orbi isn't the answer for you.

Orbi AX6000 packs a powerful punch for internet connectivity, a large number of supported devices, quick and easy to set up. I traded in another Mesh Wifi 6 system and the difference was visible from the initial setup with Orbi. Great Product!

We were not thrilled when this system was suggested. It’s pricey! However, our Wi-Fi signal is finally strong throughout the house. We also had changed our modem a few months ago. We are very pleased that we can access Wi-Fi anywhere in the house now.

This is a great system and provides excellent service throughout my home. Very easy to setup, and I really appreciate the ability to configure this uniquely, so I don't need to use the supplier router. Highly recommended!
