    The Best Wifi System

I used to think that my Wifi provider was horrible. Not that we have Netgear Orbi AX6000, I no longer think it's the providers fault. Orbi has corrected all our Wifi problems and then some. All our home automation equipment works so much better with Orbi. 5 stars to Netgear Orbi AX6000

The Orbi Wifi mesh system is great for the every day household with 4 + bedroom and a large floor plan. It delivers great speed and control from the app. I do wish there was room to expand your network with an additional Sat. Exterior pool area and side garage ring cam are sometime receive poor connectivity.

A little tricky at first, but well worth the price and the amazing speeds I was losing before and didn't even know it! I can't wait to purchase the outdoor extender for this series to further my ability to have a solid area of outdoor wifi capabilities. Thank you, Netgear!

I paid $1000 for a brick. Purchased May 2021, And now the app won’t log into the router, and there’s zero customer support. Unbelievable.

    Best Netgear Router Ever

I have a 3200 sq ft house with the cable connection on one end of the house. This configuration has always left the other side of the house uncovered to varying degrees. As I continually upgraded routers my coverage improved. My last router was the Nighthawk AX11000. It covered about 2400 sq ft, a new record. When the Orbi software seemed stable finally, I purchased the AX6000 3-Pack about 6 months ago. A new record was set and for the first time in 28 years I had complete coverage. Even my guest house, about 30 feet from the main house has complete coverage. Setup was as easy as any Netgear router. It’s pricey, being $400 more expensive than my last Nighthawk, but fast and reliable Wi-Fi is essential for my wife’s work and out entertainment. I strongly recommend the three year warranty. I have purchased it for almost every product I have ever bought at Best Buy. The one time I didn’t buy it for a modem, I wish I had.

The Orbi Ax6000 system is awesome. I have Comcast 1 gig service and this system delivers a strong signal throughout my house and into my yard. Even can pick it up out in the street. I highly recommend them for great performance.

After using this system for about 2 months now, it’s been great. There are some very bad mesh systems on the market right now. I’ve tried the netgear cheap one on amazon and it was awful. If you can afford this system, it won’t let you down.

Best Mesh wifi you can buy. It is pricey but worth every penny. I was using extenders but whenever I moved around the house I would experience dropped wifi coverage. Also, I would see multiple wifi signals with the same name. Now, it all works smoothly.

Wifi performance is good, but wired backhaul is completely non-working. When setting this system up with wired backhaul - it just doesn't work. Soeed gets cut by 50% with packet loss all over the place. On top of it, the admin app and direct connection to the router do not work. BTW, this review is written by a Systems Architect. I know how to set these things up and work with them. I absolutely recommend to AVOID this product.

    Worst Router Ever

Would give this a 0 if I could. Nothing but problems. Buy this if you want your wifi to go off at random intervals, or if you do not want to be able to connect to your router to make changes. This is the most temperamental router I have ever had. Requires more time to deal with all the problems. Had the main unit replaced and the replacement has the same issues. Tech support stinks. Read the forums before you buy, I wish I did.

    Routinely botched firmware upgrades

Unfortunately, I have twice now had to factory reset this due to botched forced firmware upgrades. The first time, the satellites stopped working. The second time, very recently, I lost access to manage it. Both times, these issues were widely reported on the Netgear forums and on Reddit. It seems they do not perform enough regression testing. That might be ok if they didn't automatically force upgrades on you in the middle of the night. This is really a poor configuration for a 1000+ dollar network device. Should have known better than to spend that much money on a Netgear. Now I have learned my lesson.

This is exactly what I was hoping for. Allows me to experience the 1gig in paying for finally. Not sure why I waited so long. The set up was annoying had to do some googling and YouTube to figure out some settings, because the app did not work to do the initial set up.

Best mesh system hands down! Recently I had my family in town and everyone was using there own devices. 20 devices used for working from home, schooling from home, gaming and watching Netflix 4K content all at the same time, no problem for Orbi.

I absolutely cannot recommend this device!

I cannot recommend this, as it has some of the most boneheaded design problems I’ve ever seen in a Router! Let me start by saying that I have an Amplifi HD, where I literally have almost no security options! So, I’ve been looking for a new solution… I turned to the Asus AX86U and as awesome as the feature set is in that device, the signal strength and quality are horrible. Now I come to the Netgear Orbi RBK852, the fastest mesh network on the planet! I have heard so many good things about this, I had to look into it, to see if it would solve my issues with security and coverage. Did it solve my problems? Well, it certainly has some security features built in, and it certainly is fast! So why can’t I recommend this device? If you have ever seen the move bedazzled, the you can probably understand my frustration here. This is the third router by different companies, that managed to screw up their product with a completely boneheaded decision. How did they screw this up you might be asking! Well, they only gave you the smart connect option for SSID configuration. This means you cannot separate the bands and because of this, you’re forced to set one Encryption protocol for both the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands! Because of older TVs and incompatibilities, I have to lower the Wireless Encryption standard to WPA 2 with AES and TKIP for both bands! Normally I could change the security for each band separately, but Netgear in their infinite wisdom decided to take that option away. Basically, they gave you the fastest setup on the planet and gimped it by dumbing down the interface.

Huge over promise & under deliver

These were the flakiest most unstable routers that I have ever used. Could not hold a connection to the internet, almost impossible to keep the app connected to them (required restarts every few minutes) and have poor range compared to what is advertised. I doubt that this 2-pack can cover half the area advertised - in my experience, it could not. Tried them for a few days and had multiple complete internet & wifi outages. Returned them & back to my much older but vastly more stable & reliable system (not an Orbi). Super expensive for something that does not come even close to expectations.

Recently switched fromComcast to MetroNet, which was a great am move. However even with the MetroNet range extenders the coverage was not as good as we wanted. We purchased the new Orbi and haven’t looked back. Great whole house router! Highly recommend! Pricey but worth it!

Good system, does what it should. Seems to have bloatware that I haven’t figured out how to shut it off. It must’ve been activated when doing the quick setup. Other than that worthy purchase.

I upgraded from the original Orbi system, 1 router and 1 satellite. I made this purchase in order to "future proof" our wifi, and take better advantage of the speeds we have now. It's connected to a Netgear Nighthawk CM1200 modem. I installed this system in the same locations as the last one, but the coverage does not seem to be as good. My cameras outside the house that had no problem connecting before have lost wifi connection a few times since I've had this. Same with our pool system and solar, which are all located outside. It kind of stinks that I need more satellites now to cover what I had before. In addition, these are not cheap! (at the time I'm writing this review)

The Orbi system was ok. It was netter than just the WiFi from our cable company but not as good as the Eero system. Ultimately returned and upgraded to the Eero’s.
