Worked fine for about 3 months, till the support ran out. Then it has been disconnects from the internet daily. Then Netgear's support is unwilling to actually help in any if you don't have an additional support subscription. This is rather frustrating a to keep trying to diagnose. I would recomend something for Ubiquity instead. Highly reviewed, but stops being easily usable after return and support over.

Horrible expensive product-not worth the price

horrible product, had to return twice after purchase of only 6 months to netgear the whole process is a nightmare. Router is plugged in by its self on battery back up and surge , but evertime Light flicker for 2 seconds the ports are burned on these item. Ultra sensative cable ports on router, Not worth the money and dealing with Netgear. The warranty on this product when purchase at best buys is super expensive, the product along is 699.00 with and additonal 258.00 for warranty . My only regret is I could not purchase the warranty from best buy at the time of purchase , it was expensive to purchase after the fact time ran out and it was too late. Netgear support is horribe to deal with and cost more than best buys warrantly. Lesson learn, more expensive does not mean it works good,

When I bought this, I intended to buy the top of the line system. We loved these because they look great and this was supposed to be the top of the line WIFI6 mesh system. They worked great for a couple of weeks, and then the constant interruptions occurred. (Must have been a firmware update) Every hour the system would cutout. With us working from home and the kids now doing digital learning due to COVID, we could no longer accept the performance of the units and returned them.

WOW! This mesh system is a game changer! I was able to move my desk into another room without running an internet cable because the satellites have ethernet ports you can directly connect to. My security camera always showed offline due to it not being able to reach the wifi with the old router. It now has not gone offline once. I really just can't say enough good things about this system, and I highly recommend it. Also, so easy to hook up.

Thought it was an upgrade, was a definite downgrad

Have a R9000 (Night hawk AX10), thought that upgrading from that to this mesh system would allow me to get more security and faster speeds. Went from 850/800 regularly to 180/90 with the router and high speed wifi adapter in the same locations 1. Cannot separate 2.4 and 5 so speeds are limited to around 300 mbps even in line of sight 2. WPA3 does not have a mixed mode for now (while the world catches up) so if you turn it on all your Smart/IoT stuff cannot connect 3. Security is a little cray cray, thought my speedtests were a DDoS 4. There is absolutely no real settings for the units, you can chose a channel but the rest of it is absolutely terrible. Guess I'll just run Ethernet and put an AP on the other side of the house to get the desired coverage.

Trash product (from a trash merchant)

Setup, reset, rebooted numerous times and rarely if ever after the first connection on my phone would it actually have internet access. Recognized 2 to 5 of my ~30 IoT devices after any given reset/setup. Had no interest in spending 5 hours on the phone with their technical support to go through the same things several more times. Plugged my old mesh nodes back in and bam, within a minute every single device was back online and my phone connected fine/internet access. Not to mention the one time * was able to run a speed test from my phone it was 30% slower) BTW, Worst Buy has the worst, not even close, customer service and never ever ever NEVER deliver their "same day" delivery items on the same day I guess I'll just start leaving 1 star reviews.  Manufacturers need to consider how poorly they are represented by using Worst Buy as a retailer.

I have currently have 1Gb fiber connection. When compared to the AX4200, I did not see a difference which was worth the upgrade. Orbi has added parental controls since purchasing but at a cost $. If only recommend purchasing the expensive Orbi models if you have 400+ mb connection.

I was tremendously surprised when I installed this mesh system. It received great reviews. I have FIOS gigabit connectivity that was restricted by my "old" AC rated modem and thought replacing the old router with this would get me the AX speeds and whole house coverage. Nope. I could barely keep a signal live for more than 30 minutes at a time. I moved the router and the satellite to various different places (as much as my wires allowed) but always the same issue. Maybe the whole $700 package was defective, but I cannot in any way recommend the Netgear Orbi AX6000 and after a week of trying to get it to work, I called Netgear for help, I was told I had to pay an extra fee. They were brought back to the store the next day. Bad product, bad customer service policy. Bad experience, except for Best Buy which took the units back without question or restocking fee.

    Fast & Reliable

    Posted .

I recently purchased this mesh system to upgrade from a Google mesh. My previous system had reliable coverage and signal but throttled speeds around 100 Mbps. I have a fiber connection with regular speeds between 900-980 Mbps, so the service was being wasted. Once I put the new system in, my speeds immediately jumped to 225-500 Mbps around the house. I have done speed tests inside my home and all around our yard and the speed and signal strength remain fast and strong. Our streaming services run smoother, online multiplayer video games play with less or no lag, and the added security of this system makes it a great purchase. This system is fantastic for larger properties that have fiber speeds but may be overkill for slower internet and/or smaller properties. I highly recommend this mesh system, though.

I was very excited to get this new WiFi 6 router. However, it let me down completely. Out of the box it required a firmware update, which is fine, but the update made it work terribly. Online searching showed me that you needed to keep the downgraded firmware to make it run ok. Then it stopped working ok with even the downgrade. Dropped signal constantly. Cutting me off all the time. Five people in my home in the middle of the pandemic. Tried for 2 mos to make this thing work. Gave up and bought the Linksys Velop WiFi 6 instead. So far so good. I’ll report back in the Linksys review in a few weeks. I’ll never find out if it was a hardware issue because there were no more of them available anywhere. Stay away from this thing and save your $600-$700 dollars. I’ll pay good money for good product and am an early adopter, but this thing is trash.
