    One of the fastest routers out there

    The Good: Setup – It was super easy to setup using their Orbi App. Basically you plug in the main router to your internet/power and find a spot for the satellite. 5 minutes later you should be up and running with minimal initial config. Features/Performance -The Mesh network…if you are not using a mesh based router (basically a router and extenders) you need to upgrade. This allows me to easily cover my entire house/separate garage/yard area. -Gigabit wired and wireless speeds….and it works! I get about 500mb from my ISP and cannot tell any different between a wired or wireless connection. -Wifi 6 -Aesthetics – looks a lot better than most routers out there. The Bad: -Price/value – while this is one of the coolest routers I have used in a while, the $700 is steep. Better to wait for some black friday sales on this one. -Satellite backwards compatibility – I wish I could use my older Orbi satellites on this product…per the release notes this feature is coming. Other – -I was part of a beta test set of users for this product. I got to see some of the first version of the firmware. One of the cool aspects to see was how fast Netgear was addressing and fixing the issues. You can tell they are wanting these to be part of their flagship line of routers.

    Horrible wifi worst coverage area ever also no parental controls for 700 .

    The specification says that it can cover up to 6500 sqf but I get no signal in my 2 story homes with 2500 ground square feet.

    Got this mesh system because it's supposed to be one of the best but honestly it crap. I spent over $700 and is crap. I get over 700 megabits hard wire to my cable modem and on the orbit app the speed test shows that is receiving 715 megabits but only half of that is transmitted over wifi. It's supposed to transfer up to 6000 megabit of data and is not doing it. Waste of money

    Buy insurance if you buy these

    If you decide to buy this router, buy the BestBuy Geek Protection Plan as well. During the last 19 months, the first one lasted 18 months (1 year warranty) and the replacement lasted 35 days. I lost $768.00 on the first one since it was out of warranty. On the second one I lost $120.00 since I bought the BestBuy insurance.

    Easy to install, but very unreliable to manage and also browsing on mobile devices such as IPhone 11's pages load slowly and images as well. My data plan works better on the phones. It's too late to return it's been over a month now, $600 wasted. Being an IT professional for 20 years, I would expect a better product from the NetGear brand.

    This product did nothing but frustrate me. I found it to be very unreliable and inconsistent. It was difficult to set up and even harder to manage. I consistently had drops in signal wish I was able to confirm multiple times was the result of this unit and not my internet provider.

    Worked well for about 2 weeks then would not connect to the internet. Multiple re-attempts through the set-up process were unsuccessful. Returned it and had to settle for the next router down as the 6200 was nowhere to be found. BB was great about it but I expected much more from a $700 router.

    Lacking parental controls and can't block websites

    Despite original marketing materials containing references to parental controls, Netgear removed all parental controls from this "flagship" model. I originally spoke with Netgear in Nov and they said parental controls were coming, well it's March and there's still no parental controls

    Interferes with my vpn and WiFi calling

    Installed some sort of “security software automatically” and it interferes with my work vpn (slowed the ping down to make it inaccessible) and rejected calls on my iPhone when on WiFi calling (straight to voicemail, no missed call shown).

    Still super buggy system. Tech support can’t help me get the app that controls the system working properly nor can they help me connect my amazon echo dots. If you want something that works well, I’d get something else.

    Bought these a year ago and they worked fine at first but now, thanks to Netgear’s firmware updates, it’s almost useless. You will reboot your internet every single day as it continually drops the internet.

    What an upgrade

    We upgraded from the Nest mesh wifi system to the Orbi 850 system. The speeds and coverage are phenomenal. The ease of setup was a breeze and only took about 20 minutes.

    This 3-unit setup replaced an older mesh system in our 4,700sqft home. I was very impressed to see that we get over 500Mbps download throughout the house! The old system was glitchy and never got more than 100Mbps. Very easy to setup, and the app gives you full access to all connected users, as well as parental controls.

    I got this to improve the WiFi signal in our house. The setup was super easy using the Orbi app. It was important to us to have the available ports on each of the satellites since we have some devices (such as network drives for backups) that we need to hardwire. This allowed me to move them to a satellite and still hardware the satellites back to the router for the backhaul communications. If you're able to hardware the satellites to the router that's ideal. The app definitely good for the setup. It's only been a couple of weeks, but so far, I'm totally happy with this Netgear Mesh system

    This thing suck. Keep on dropping internet connection. Over a year now I try everything I'm giving up throwing it away. Going to try Linksys MX 10. Never agian Netgear will I buy from you.
