Unreal speed and coverage
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried my ISP router, Nest WiFi Pro, and Eero Pro 6 before committing a large amount of money to the Orbi11000. With each router mentioned I had great WiFi speed when close to the main router. My ISP speed is 1gig and I was getting 600mbps wireless. However, when I went to my bedroom in the far side of the house I would get between 25 and 80mbps wireless. Now with the Orbi I am getting 380mbps in my bedroom. That is a 300mbps increase. That is what makes the Orbi Mesh system worth the high price. Now I can stream and enjoy super fast wireless speeds in all parts of my home.

Orbie, Netgear breach, firmware manual updates !!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Netgear misleading their customer with this product that needs work- very pricey product when it doesn't perform netgear armor could be misleading after you've set the entire router two days later after a score of 95 it will drop down to 70s telling you that your security is moderate and it doesn't give you specific explanation what to fix , I've contacted Customer Support numerous times about this. Apparently there's been a breach on multiple routers firmware found out that there's a firmware manual update v6.3.7.10 that needs to be done for the two satellites and then the router. again? Why am I paying for this again to manually updates on this expensive router ? I'm not very happy at this point, but the router does do perform I may return it depending on the outcome of tech-support, figuring out these issues and I don't see why we are paying for additional security on parental control when that should be part of the package deal!

Decent
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was forced to buy these to replace an older set that got fried in a storm. The routers are great, but if you loose Internet due to weather or interruption to service, they can be difficult to reconnect to the internet.

If price is not an issue for the best in quality
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If price is not an issue for the best in quality I have over 2 acres and we are covered all over so happy with these and the extra add-ons they offer. One thing I don't like is it is not a replacement for my internet company's router just plugs into it.

Do not waste your precious time!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After owning 4 of these in 2 years, we give up and have to rate this 1 star. If you buy this with the hopes of more than 50 devices connected with more than 6 months of life, be prepared to learn the phrase "backhaul" and hope you bought the Geek Squad protection. This system and its technology will fail you, be warned!! When we bought this, we needed a top of the line WiFi mesh system for about 150 devices in a smart home with gaming and teenager needs. Netgear promised this with the Orbi mesh and we had owned Netgear products for years. For the first 6 months, it worked flawless. Then, unexplained, one day it just froze up…no more than 40 devices could connect and everything bogged. After numerous reboots and factory resets, some overwhelmed overseas Netgear tech support spent hours on the phone with us, having no clue what had happened or how to fix it other than exchange it. On the second one, same thing after 6 months. This time, we thought a power surge fried it. Even changing the settings and WiFi name didn’t work as promised. Third one, failed at 6 months again. This time, Google finally revealed what Netgear will not: MANY other Orbi users with the same unresolved problem dating back years….this system has "backhaul" technology that fails after so many gigs pass through it. The backhaul is supposed to help ensure seamless WiFi for multi devices, but over time causes the satellites to overrun the system and lock out IP addresses. The only supposed fix? Try Ethernet cords to physically tether the satellites….which defeats the purpose of wireless satellites! Fourth one? Same verse and zero help from Netgear. Backhaul overload: a known issue that Netgear will not acknowledge nor provide a true fix for in their mesh technology, and their tech support cannot help with. We are done and could not be more disappointed in the lack of customer service and actual remedies from Netgear. Thank goodness we had the Geek Squad protection and Best Buy managers confirming for us….ditch Orbi, go Eero. Save yourself the trouble. For the money, invest in the Eero Max 7 and avoid Netgear’s Orbi mesh systems. You’ll save yourself a mountain of frustration if you do.

||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Geek Squad installed a set of three Orbi's and added a fourth. Pricey, partially non-functional and terrible CS
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Setup up was more difficult than expected. I have set up other Netgear modems and routers in the past. As expensive as this unit is, I expect it to be almost flawless and I expect superb customer service. One of the satellites was not working. It took multiple attempts with CS to determine that I needed a new satellite. To get either next day or 2nd day delivery, NG required me to pay for shipping. CS told me twice that if I want it fully functional right away, I should go to Best Buy. However, I need internet, which is why I shelled out this much for a darn router system and did not want to 1) be without internet for a few hours, 2) deal with removing and resetting the first Orbi system, and 3) setting up another system. I balked and after a few more calls, they finally agreed to ship it to me free after speaking with a manager. However, eight days later - nada. Now, they need different pictures taken and uploaded. We got the mesh system for the dead areas in our house. The critical areas are fine and the router and satellite are doing its job. If it was not for this hassle, I would have rated the system higher.

Expensive but much for stable than Google
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Expensive but great product. We previously had the Google Nest Mesh and in our experience was not very stable. This has been a big upgrade. For our smart home, well worth the money for the stability.

I really wanted this to work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a love/hate relationship with Netgear Orbi for years and my most recent foray back into the ecosystem was worse than I expected. The love part I have had is signal strength and speed, but this system just did not meet the speed piece for sure. After 1 1/2 hours on the phone with tech support the wired backhaul does not work and the mesh system I was planning to replace actually has much better throughput because the wired backhaul does work on those. Having greater than 1 Gb internet connection speeds in my house led me to want to have better wireless speeds. I have a router so only planned to use the Orbis in AP mode, but according to the technician, the backhaul over ethernet is non-standard in some way that the router communicates to the satellite. At the end of the call, the satellite was communicating wirelessly and I was told I just needed to give it some time and the ethernet would start working. It never did. Ultimately, these will be going back and I will look for a system that has better wired backhaul that works in my system. This may be an amazing system with the right networking setup, but it did not work in mine where other less expensive systems have performed well.
