A: Do NOT get netgear routers, especially the ORBI 963, it's garbage !! I had 2 and returned both!! they work great at first then after 2-4 weeks the problems come out I purchased the Asus ET12 and used the official not beta December firmware at home and work and both are faster and more stable than the 963 was ever!! also netgear deletes lots of negative feedback on their forums to attract more suckers.
A: In terms of technology it is already a gen behind the latest technology. With that being said, the current gen technology that is out there hardly any devices themselves are using it. How often you use it or how much data you stream really shouldn't effect the life of the unit. The question you need to ask yourself, is how important it is to you to always have the latest generation of equipment for top speeds. I picked this up and at Christmas to replace my eero's I had from a couple of years ago, which were 5G. I replaced the Eero's because, I got tired of not having a true router I could control. Personally, I think you can get a min of 3 years to 5 years with these in place. I'm an IT director and we generally upgrade our wifi infrastructure every 5 years at our offices.
A: This allows you to set up a separate iot network for rings, nests, etc. I am using it for my smart house devices.
Q: When will this be available for order?
A: 10/31/21 I believe they start shipping.
Q: Are this compatible with xfinity Comcast
A: Yes, but as a router. There is a separate model sold as a modem/router
A: No, the 4th band for wireless backhaul is reserved for wireless backhaul and is not usable for anything else.
A: Netgear support articles mention a two pack and the number for it. I believe even the standalone satellite for the 900 series mentions being compatible with a two pack version. However I have not seen any indication of when/if those will be available to purchase.
A: I am pretty sure the other 5ghz band is used for the wireless backhaul.
