Whole Home WiFi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My AT&T router gave me a weak signal throughout the home. WiFi connected devices would loose connection all the time. I decided to invest in a WiFi mesh router to fix the issue. Setup was pretty easy and it only took few minutes. Now I have strong signal throughout the house, no issues streaming 4K content, no more connection issues with my hue lights, ring devices, and other smart home devices throughout the home. Highly recommend!

Good perf, but kit contents differ from advertised
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The RBK43 kit is advertised here and on Netgear's website as containing two RBS40 satellites. The kits on the shelf at our local store included two RBS20 satellites, instead. I don't know if these represent old stock or a recent change, but be aware of this if those extra two ethernet jacks on the satellites are important to you.

Orbi (NetGear) over Velop(Linksys)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If going mesh WiFi - must get this unit, it’s so worth it. I tried a different brand and duel band only and this one is much much better. Great speeds, little drop off away from stations.

Great product and range
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My second mesh wifi system and this is the best one by far I purchased. The range is great too and works well with outdoor security cameras.

Not a good experience with Netgear
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We wanted to try a mesh system to improve wi fi coverage in our very difficult 4,000 sq ft house, especially with our Ring system. (Stucco, plaster walls, mirrors, etc.) Setup of base unit was very easy. However, the two satellites could not be very far from the base unit. Thus, more than half the house was off limits, even though the packaging said it covered 6,000 square feet. OK, I thought, I can add more satellites, but that's frustrating. Then the Ring system would not connect to the Orbi. Per Ring support, Ring has trouble with mesh systems. We tried multiple times to no avail. So I called Orbi/Netgear 24/7 support. Of course, you need to create a profile and service ticket on line (no big deal) and then when connected, the tech needs to gather all of that data again (total nonsense.) The first tech was less than useless. He kept insisting on checking standard stuff and refused to deal with my specific issue. For example, he kept insisting that perhaps I had changed the Orbi password. I assured him 100% that I had not. I used the Orbi password to log in on my phone and laptop. A supervisor was not any more helpful. Then it went downhill. While on the phone with the supervisor, the Orbi wi fi disconnected itself twice. For no reason. All connections tight and verified. Lights on at the base unit. Just no wi fi at laptop or on phone. Supervisor had no information in their database one way or the other on Ring systems and no explanation on why the system failed twice. So I gave up. The system is going back. Netgear now will own a used system.

Completely unstable and useless
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Mind you I’m writing this review from my phone as I wait for a page to load on my pc....My husband bought this 4 days ago to replace the 2 routers we had in our home so everything would be on the same network. I work from home so speed and reliability aren’t just nice, they’re required. We’re both pretty technically savvy so we figured set up would be a breeze, which initially it was. He set up the main piece and one satellite the first night so I’d be all set the next morning. After changing the WiFi on EVERY device in the house, we were good to go...for less than 24 hours. Day 2 went from bad to worse. I dropped voip calls, couldn’t connect, sat and watched the wheel spin endlessly without pages loading. You get the point. I finally moved from the pc in my office to my laptop and sat next to the router, on the floor. Real comfortable. If I was near the main router I was ok. Just ok. Not great. Not blown away by the amazing high speed connection or the ability to support multiple devices. Just ok. Just enough to not rip this thing off the wall. This thing could barely handle a laptop and a phone let alone additional devices plus streaming movies and whatever else. It was like living in a house where you can’t wash your hands while someone is taking a shower because they’d get burnt with scalding water. Sorry kids, no tv because I might have to make a phone call. Day 3 my husband tried to set up the second satellite in our garage to extend the signal outside and to hopefully help the signal in our daughter’s room on that side of the house, which took a nosedive when we moved to this system. Major problem! Everything went down. The router didn’t see any of the satellites, nothing worked not even the one connected to the modem, etc, etc. He synced it several times, nothing. Then he proceeded to unplug everything and started reconnecting from scratch, which seemingly fixed the issue...until the next day. Day 4 I’m writing this review, waiting for the WiFi to work since it keeps stopping for no apparent reason and then I’m going to find the box and return this piece of junk. What’s better is when I started this review on bezos-world with a 1 star (because less is not an option) a message popped up stating they were no longer accepting reviews for this product. Are you kidding me?! But they’re still selling it! Aww, don’t want anyone to know what a piece of junk this? If you’re reading this, save yourself a lot of hassle and aggravation and buy a different system.

Stops working every 3-4 weeks
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I cannot recommend this product. Every 3-4 weeks, or whenever our electricity goes out and comes back on (think summer thunderstorms), none of my wireless devices will be able to re-connect to the router or satellites. The only way I have found to fix this is to unplug both the router and the satellites, then plug the router back in and use it alone (without the satellites plugged in or turned on) for several hours, then re-add each of the satellites over wireless 5ghz backhaul, then 15 minutes later connect them via wired backhaul. I connect the satellites to the router via wired backhaul because they are far from the router and the 5ghz wireless backhaul can be unreliable, but the wired backhaul has not added any stability as far as I can tell. I contacted Netgear support and they were unable to identify a specific issue that might be causing my difficulties. I have read of others having similar issues, possibly related to using wired backhaul instead of wireless backhaul.

Orbi has terrible coverage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the mesh system because it is supposed to extend wifi signal across the whole house. But instead of using the satellites Orbi pushes all devices to the main router. Being so far away my devices are connected at a slow speed instead of the fast speeds the satellites should offer. Additionally, there is no way to select if you want a device to connect at the slower 2.4ghz or the faster 5ghz. All my Fire Sticks are connected at 2.4 when they would perform better at 5 and the signal is weak because of the distance they are from the main router. I have 400 mg of internet speed but I can only get 30 - 40 at my fire sticks.

Never purchase Netgear
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The application for this router makes this amazing device useless. The app seems like it was written by an elementary student. I’m very disappointed in this product. You’d think giving Netgear at least 3 years to fix their app would be enough time but it’s not. Customers are forced to use the app, there is no desktop application nor can you access everything using the ip address. the application makes the whole orbi ecosystem extremely useless.

Did not connect
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. One of the pods would not connect to the router so we ended up taking it back. The pods that connected worked well but net gears IT could not get all of the pods to connect.

Terrible Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Do not buy this product. I have had the 3 unit system for over 6 months and it’s the worst product I’ve purchased for WiFi. Won’t stay connected and when you try to reconnect it says “wrong password” when it hasn’t changed. The one auto update I did was corrupted so I spent over an hour chatting with net gear to go in operating system to reset software to a previous version. So they don’t even check the updates before publishing. Even though it’s the mesh system with 3 modules my neighbors basic modem/router connects to my devices faster and sometimes stronger than mine when I’m in my own house. I wish I’d never purchased this product.

Orbi Systems fail over time
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My experience with Orbi systems appears to not be unique, and any potential buyer should check out the Netgear message boards prior to purchasing any Orbi Mesi Wi-Fi system. My unit(s) has been plagued by slowness, and appears to have ongoing problems with firmware. Included tech support lasts 90 days, and didn't realize that I should expect problems to start shortly thereafter.

Terrible netgear support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Waited 2.5 hours on the phone for support, I even called and set up a return call which never occurred. Netgear support is aweful. Fortunately, geeksquad was the only way I got this setup. However my wireless download speed is 80mgps vs connected to the router it is 190mgps. Not impressed
