Not perfect, but still really good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Orbi combo kit is a pretty good performer. Excellent for streaming and fast download speeds. Great for gaming too. Being able to run a wire to your device from the satellite orbis is an excellent feature, as it really helps gaming performance! Only reason I gave it four stars is because you have to find a sweet spot for the satellite orbis or else they might have problems staying connected to the main router Orbi, and that may not be in a location that you prefer in that room. But find that sweet spot and it won't disappoint. Parental control, phone app, and guest network features are really great to have!

Speed to burn
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent a week researching mesh WiFi and reading every article I could find. Finally narrowed it down to the Orbi and the Google. I chose the Orbi for its dedicated tri-band. Installed it today and I’m very happy with the result. I had an Asus router that performed great until a month ago. Everything got super slow. But with this upgrade, I’ve got speed to burn. I’ve attached a photo and you can see where the install took place. From 25mbps to 180... Save yourself some time and head scratching and buy the Orbi

Just Didn't Work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kept telling me I had to set-up my system, even though I did it and it said complete. Then, it kept dropping the internet on EVERY CHANGE I MADE. NEVER had this experience with my Linksys. Called tech support, they took my telephone number, incase we got dropped. The line dropped and instead of calling me back, they closed the trouble ticket....TWICE. Brand new, out of the box and HORRIBLE experience with the reliability of the product and HORRIBLE customer support. Taking this back and buying a Linksys, it will be well worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

high speed, great coverage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Living in a large older brick house with metal lathe and plaster walls, good wifi coverage has been hard to achieve. We had a good enough system that we had put together with a router and a couple of access points, but there were still dead spots, and there were awkward "hand offs" from one access point to another that sometimes required us to log off of one and onto another. The Orbi AC2200 with two satellites has solved those problems for us. We have more even coverage throughout the house, and devices never seem to struggle with diminishing signal as we move from room to room. The signal strength outside the house is noticeably stronger. Set up was easy, and monitoring and adjusting the system through the iPhone app is simple too. We have six wifi users in our house and approximately thirty devices, and everyone is glad that we installed the Orbi.

What a difference!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with this purchase! WiFi issues are a fact of modern life these days. In our ever-more-connected homes, dependable WiFi is both critical and nearly impossible. It used to be that a wireless network had a couple of laptops and a printer, but now there are multiple TVs streaming 4K, smartphones, printers with their own hotspots, doorbells, smart thermostats, etc. And that doesn't count all the interference from devices in your neighbor's homes. In my case, that meant that despite having a 100mpbs internet connection I was seeing download speeds of 5-8 mbps in my upstairs home office - and lots of times where the connection was lost altogether. With Orbi, I don't just have one WiFi accesss point. Instead, there is a base station and two satellites, giving me three different ways to connect. Each unit is a router in its own right, and the satellites also provide for wired Ethernet access too. Best of all, they use their own 5Ghz backhaul frequency, while providing seamless 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz connections to my devices. My coverage is uniformly good throughout my home, and in the yard and out front too. Setup took just a short time, and while Orbi offers a smartphone app for configuration, you don't really need one. The Orbi units display their setup status with color-coded displays. For more advanced users, you can access the full suite of advanced router capabilities through a web interface. I have recommended this product to friends and co-workers many times. You will not be sorry!

Q: QuestionWhat is this Orbi Mesh WiFi device? How does it work?
Asked by Gloworm.
- A:Answer When I installed the Orbi system in my home, I turned off Wifi in my U-verse router to enable the Orbi to assume that role which it is intended to do using a mesh throughout the home. I then connected the main unit to my modem, changed the settings and then installed the 2 additional satellites. Prior to having the Orbi, my wifi was absolutely horrendous, I was constantly having to reboot. We had one bedroom which received no signals at all. With an abundance of cell phones, iPads, computers, playstation and TV's all competing for space in a multi-story home, the U-Verse system was overwhelmed and unable to handle more than 2 or three at a time. Since installing Orbi, I no longer have to reboot period! The system allows us to connect from anywhere within the home to include the garage using seemingly unlimited sources. The family is no longer frustrated and there are no restraints. What a fantastic improvement this has made for us. Take the time in setting an Orbi system up and you should be rewarded handsomely.

Q: QuestionWith the three pack system, does the wifi signal daisy chain from each other? My base would be at one end of my house, and I am thinking that I will need to place one sat. unit in the middle of the house, and the second sat. at the far end.
Asked by Max.
- A:Answer Yes you can daisy chain them. That is what I did it works great. The main router is on one end of the house, one satellite is in the middle of the house and one satellite is at the far end of the house. They all use the same network name.

Q: QuestionCan these units be connected via ethernet cable and not wifi? Where I want to put these, there are ethernet ports available/
Asked by timc79.
- A:Answer Yes you can, but according to the Netgear website, instruction manual and some other forums be sure to **Update your Firmware First**. I set mine up wirelessly, updated firmware and then proceeded to connect via ethernet. Be patient when connecting, as it takes a couple minutes as updates it's internal settings to use the hardwired backhaul. After going through those steps it works great. **Warning** please check the RBK43 specs on Netgear's website. The Satellites only have 2 LAN Ports available. The pictures and description on the Best Buy website are incorrect.

Q: Questionconfused the pic shows 4 ports for each satellite, but when I bought them and looked their is only 2 ports on each plus the 3 on the router?
Asked by preorder.
- A:Answer This lower priced set comes with rbs20 satellites with only 2 ports and only 4 attennas versus the rbs40 satellite that have 4 ports and 6 antennas. Rbs40 comea with the $399 systwm. Net gear did this to.provide a scalable system that is priced for the averge user. The tech soecs lisyed in this add are incorrect saying it has 11 ports. The rbs20 satellites are normally boxed with the rbk23 system where the router and satellites are scaled down.
