I tried about 5 other well-reviewed routers of various brands and speed + distance claims... Orbi blew them all away. It's like 6 out of 5 stars... except no support for a USB hard drive to be used for Mac Time Machine. Their tech support said it's planned but didn't have an expected date. Therefore, since I have an iMac and MacBook Pro, I just have an external hard drive plugged into my iMac (desktop doesn't move) and then the MacBook Pro backs up to that drive (shared on the network but encrypted). The distance between my 2 homes (directly across the city street from each other) was handled awesomely because the satellite at the other house even detected the signal to be good (not okay or bad) -- it lit up blue -- and standing in front of that satellite gets the same 60+ Mbps blazing speed as standing in front of the main router, which is hard-wired to the gateway modem. Well done, Netgear! Thank you for Orbi!

These Orbi systems are great! Replaced an older Netgear Nighthawk R7000 with this Orbi system. Instantly saw an increase in speed in excess of 100Mbs. Coverage is amazing. I now have internet out past my garage and am now considering placing a camera out there where I couldn't before due to lack of internet connection. Greater speed, greater coverage. What's not to like? Another plus is that it was extremely easy to set up. Even better still is that I got them on sale and used bonus points to bring my out of pocket expense to less than $25.00!

I read the reviews for this product as well as reviews for other similar products. I based my choice on reliability, ease of set up, tech specs and versatility.Orbi AC3000 looked the best. I purchased them and am very impressed. My wifi speed almost doubled in farther areas of my house and outside where I run wireless security cameras. A must buy for anyone looking for enhanced coverage and speed.

I have a modest 2600sqft home and just had fiber installed to the house. Stock router @ 5ghz could barely reach my upstairs office where internet speed is crucial. I was barely getting 30mbps out of the 1000mbps ran to the house. Insert ORBI. I placed an ORBI near my stock router and disabled the stock wifi. I placed an ORBI satellite upstairs in the closet and now I'm able to see about 600-650mbps wirelessly (Picture attached of ORBI speed). All of my IoT devices have no problems connecting to the 5ghz band and my printer latches on the the 2.4ghz band. My Ring doorbell, 4 Nest products, 3 apple TV's and 6 computers all connect perfect. What I love is you don't actually see both bands broadcasted! The router does the smart work for you and chooses the best connection. It sets up in a pinch and the GUI is really easy to get through. Amazing product from Netgear!! It does what the EERO wouldn't do!

My unit had issues maintaining a strong signal when gaming, so I returned it. Despite this, setup was very easy and intuitive . The app is fantastic and has a lot of features. I would recommend; I just got a dud.

After staying home and working from my home office for 2 weeks, I decided to research mesh wifi systems and eventually purchased an Orbi system made by Netgear. I really wanted to get it local so I could be up an running quickly. Best Buy was the only place in town that had the AC3000 in stock and actually matched Sam's club on the price. The only thing I wish I'd done differently is purchased the one with 2 satellites. I ended up ordering a second satellite and it cost about $100 more than the 3 pack. I am not disappointed in the product nor Best Buy's service during these hectic times.

I don't normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to write on for the Orbi. In the past I have always purchased and used the highest end gaming type routers thinking that they are the fastest and the most stable. I was wrong. I was looking for a router solution that would provide stable connections, whole house coverage and good speed. I found all of that with the Orbi. The Orbi router has been rock solid and never drops connection in my 2,800 sq. ft. house. It's faster than my previous high end gaming routers as well. In fact my latency in games is about 20% lower using the Orbi. The setup was very easy and only took a few minutes. The mesh network with one SSID or network name makes connecting multiple devises to the network easy and flawlessly handoff between access points as I roam the house. I would highly recommend the Orbi router and could not be more pleased with my purchase.

Bought this router after getting fiber internet. Set up was very easy and I have not had any connectivity issues, using 1 satellite in my 2 story 3000+ square foot home. This router was a must to properly take advantage of the faster fiber internet!

I have a 3000 sq ft two story house sitting on a lot of about 5000 sq ft. My previous configuration involved an xfinity wireless gateway and a network extender. The network extender needed a separate SSID, was slow and unreliable, and with all of this, I still had a couple of Wi-Fi dead spots in my home. Orbi: easy to set up - really easy. Works great. Blankets the entire house and property. The only difficulty I had was getting my Sonos reconfigured. The boost if you have one will need to be connected to the Orbi then all of the speakers need to be paired again. I suggest breaking down any room configurations you have before configuring the Orbi as I still had some strange results on the last Sonos software update. I believe breaking down the room configuration, pairing after moving the Boost to the new Orbi network and reconfiguring the room will be the best set of steps.

Go this route if you need to cover a spread-out house and have the option of ethernet backhaul. Returned the 2200 version for this one and wouldn't look back at the old one. Ethernet backhaul makes all the difference. I can spread these puppies out on the outside corners of the house and get great signal through-out the place. I am getting 300Mb+ down speeds anywhere in the house now. If you are paying for high speed / gig internet monthly, you should have the hardware to utilize it. Orbi AC3000 does it just fine. 4 stars instead of 5 as the ethernet backhaul (EB) was not as easy to set up as they were tauting. Had to call support and even they couldn't "for sure" say it was functioning. I played with it and eventually got it working. Other that the EB (the entire reason I purchased this model) it was easy to set up.

For years I've been using a dedicated wireless router along with at least one wireless access point to get coverage throughout my home. Even with a top of the line (other brand) router and AP, the difficulty to have them work together seamlessly was never ending. Then the eero mesh wireless came out and I started reading and researching. For me, the deal breaker with eero is the fact that all setup and configuration is done via a mobile app. There is no way to connect to and configure or troubleshoot via a web interface. In addition, if your internet connection goes down when on the eero system (and a couple of others), the internal home network goes down as well. Basically meaning we wouldn't be able print unless connecting via USB, and more importantly my Plex media server would be unavailable, even though it's hardwired on my network. I've used Netgear products in the past and really liked their ease of use and high level of configuration options. When the Orbi system was launched I read reviews that were mixed, most of which said to wait for the first or second firmware update. So I waited several months and sure enough, the professional reviews were awesome. When I read that the Orbi system had a web UI for configuration that is 99% the same as with the Nighthawk series routers, I knew I had found the right mesh wireless system. Initial setup is drop dead simple. I was up and online in less than five minutes. My Sony RokuTV that ALWAYS had problems staying connected before I got Orbi (it doesn't have an ethernet port) is now rock solid in its wireless connection. The only time it's dropped connection is when I customized my configurations on the Orbi (network name/password, port forwarding for my media collections, VPN setup, etc). As for the physical setup and why I chose a wireless mesh system: I have a large-ish 2 story townhome built on the side of a hill. It has a reversed floorplan with the kitchen, living, dining on the top floor, the three bedrooms on the bottom floor. The walls are real plaster, not sheetrock, and it's about 1800 sq ft without the garage. My wireless coverage downstairs was good enough for browsing using our phones, tablets and laptops, but not much more than browsing. Streaming would work with SD content on YouTube but still stutter and buffer. Now with the satellite box hanging from the ceiling downstairs, we can both be streaming HD content and even have HD streaming on the RokuTV. Needless to say, I am very pleased with the Orbi. Hope this is a helpful review. In my not so humble opinion, you can't go wrong with the Orbi system!

Let me start out bye saying I have TIme Warner as my internet provider. We have a new build and have been in it fir a year. It is just under 3000 sq feet. We had horrible wifi. I tried extenders. New routers anything I could to try to get a signal through the house. None of that worked. Is seen the Orbi on Best Buy website. Noticed it was a little pricey so I started to review all the wifi systems out there. To the point where I would go to a different Best Buy every day just get info from as many people as I could. I decided to give Orbi a try. Let me tell you we are not disappointed. Before Orbi I was lucky to get a reading of 15 now not once has it been under 62 in ever corner of my house from the basemen to the third floor. Even outside within 15 feet of the house I get high speeds. It is well worth the money. I had the house hard wired with cat6 and don't even use it anymore.

I had these since December of last year. They solved every problem I had, range, speed and coveniance. Heck I was even looking into spending over 200$ for an additional satilite just for Ezra coverage even though I didn't really need it. The setup and user interface is quite simple to use. Parental controls are nice too. But that's where this love story ends......yesterday they crashed 4 times. I call the ISP and hey said hay there wasn't anything wrong with the signal. So I called Netgear last evening for some guidance in fixing our issues. You see it was a major issue because we run many connected devices from smart lights to game consoles, oh and we don't have cable tv, so we needed to get it resolved. After many Google searches I finally found a phone number to call for help. Called the number and was told that if I wanted tech support that I would have to pay for a subscription. Pay scription of X dollars a month for a router $400 router? Are you kidding me? Tech support said no sir, your free 90 day tech support ended in February but if you would like to subscribe to our service contract you can for X dollars per month. Wait wait wait so your seriously telling me that I can get help with a $400 router without paying for it? Tech support said well sir if I can fix your issue I won't bill you and we will get your units replaced, however if I do fix it your card will be charged. Nope I'm cool. So buyer beware, if you have issues you may be face with paying a monthly subscription to fix and expensive router. I went to BestBuy last night and bought the Linksys Velop system and so far it's performing well. Good luck!

I love this. Originally I bought an Eero, which I exchanged for the Orbi. Pros: -Can install via App -Blazing fast WiFi speed -Required fewer units to cover large house -USB port and several ethernet ports in units Cons: -App is low on features -No parental controls -Units on the larger side I am completely able to ignore the slight cons with my download speeds!

My home is about 1400 sqft. I have the modem/router set up in my office. I have Xfinity with Internet speed up to 200 mbps. The desktop computer will reach that speed. With my iPhone I can get up to 50mbps. In my living room I can get about the same but mostly less in my master bedroom around 30mbps. Most of the time I have to use my phone carrier's Internet instead as the WiFi signal is weak in my master bedroom. I did some research and a buddy told me about this product. It was easy to install and set up. I was able to get the speed I pay for every where in my home and backyard. Yes, around 200mbps or more. I could not believe the speed on my iPhone as it matched or had faster speed. I love this router. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. It works great with my LG OLED 4K Smart TV, PS4, Xbox One and Switch. Highly recommend this product.
