Excellent router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I tried two types of routers & extenders to obtain a strong WIFI signal to cover both the inside and outside perimeter of my brick home, needed the capability to reach my detached garage and multiple WIFI connections. the Netgear Orbi worked. Good product.

Good Wi-Fi system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Orbi Wi-Fi System works good. Does have great distance capability. We use it for our solar system. My internet service at home sucks and this system did not make it any better. Im sure its not the fault of the Orbi, but my internet provider. Seems great so far though.

Works great!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Enjoying the Orbis very much. Dead spots are a thing of the past and we have consistent speeds on all devices being used around the house. Love the netgear app, it’s very helpful! Recommend the purchase. Spend the extra $ it’s worth it.

It works!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to upgrade my internet because I am working from home. I keep loosing the WiFi. This solved my problem. After a month of use no more WiFi losses. A little on the expensive side, but if you have over 25 devices connected, this is the one to get.

Orbi is great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We purchased the Orbi after reading reviews. Had problems with a basic router reaching to the other side of our house. The Orbi has given us the ability to have internet in our garage as well. Single story house using the Orbi and one satellite placed midway in our home.

Cool product that just didn’t work
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the Orbi based on reviews I watched online and read. Did my research to find a product that could give me seemless coverage in 3600 sqft 2 story home. Out of the box and set up was very easy. Took a while to find a good position for satellite, but once I did I was ready for action. Right away downloaded the newest update. Once I had my mobile app working and all connected, I went to every part of the home, outside, in the garage, on the patio and ran tests finding great signal- 174mb down/24mb up; using Comcast Blast Internet. All worked fine for 3 days, but found my satellite was no longer connected. I tried everything to reconnect, sync, placed next to main unit, and could not connect. I ended up resetting and main unit connected right away, but satellite just never connected again. In the reviews, I had always read the positives, but with my challenges I went back and found that all the negative reviews on this product were 90% for the same issue I was experiencing. Read horrors about troubleshooting for hours with India to no avail and I had no interest in having to deal with that torture. I realized I had made a bad decision. I went back to Best Buy and was able to return with no challenges. I ended up purchasing the newest Eero Pro for a little more money, but I must say is the best decision I could have made. The eero was easy to set up. The remote devices easily connected in areas that Orbi satellite would not work. And with 3 devices was even able to put the third device upstairs in the Master BR. My wife is happy she can browse on her iPad with no problems. I’ve tested the eero around the entire house and get the same signal, but have no issues at all. On the patio, in the garage, bathroom and main living areas, I get 174mb down/24mb up. It’s been 3 weeks now without a glitch. We even had our electricity flicker and lost power for seconds 4 different times in an hour, and after each the system came back up with no flaw. I have my fingers crossed that it continue to work so well, but so far been perfect. Sorry for Orbi since I was really routing for it to work because it looks cool, and other Netgear product have such good ratings. Unfortunately this one is not ready for prime time. Thanks Best Buy for making my purchasing easy, and why I still only buy electronics at a retail store and not online.

Great WiFi router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Orbi router system took a little while to set up but works great. I checked my wifi signal strength around the house and it was much stronger. This device doesnt allow for a guest wifi connection so be prepared if that is a requirement. Works great. Highly recommend it.

Great buy!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this because our previous router kept getting overloaded with too many devices connected with kids being home virtual learning. Now we haven’t had any issues with no wifi problems or slow downs!

Great Wi-fi system
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works as expected. Went from being able to run 6 wireless devices at one time up to minimum of 12 with no buffering. Didn’t have a good connection in the guest room. Installed a satellite closer. Now everyone is connected. I can now manage all connected devices through the Orbi app.

A Good Whole Home "Wireless Mesh" System
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me state that if you are looking for a high performance wireless router this is not where you should be looking. This is not what this router system is about. If you need a router system to cover a large house though please read on. The Orbi is designed to cover a large area simply and effectively though a single system. I have a 3000 Sq Ft and have a few dead spots in the rear of my house, which is why I typically have a range extender working. This new router is like that, expect it works more as a Mesh. While some range extenders can work like the Orbi, the Orbi it was appeared designed to work like this out of the box. Setup was fairly easy. The hardest part was having to sync my satellite (Secondary router) to the primary. I'm sure out of the box for most people it will be synced and I got unlucky. But if you are like me, then pressing the large sync button on both will solve the problem. In fact when you turn on the second unit place it close enough that you can see the first unit to make sure they are paired and save yourself the frustration of walking around the house thinking bad reception. Once that was out of the way I placed the Orbi towards the back corner of my house, and it reports a good connection with the base unit and I had full coverage of my house. Orbi uses only on Wireless Network name (SSID), instead of multiple for 2.4/5 networks letting the devices pick what they want to connect to the main router and switch like you would in an office between nodes as you move around. It works well, just like in your office. Setup and getting it ready was easy peasy. No complicated questions. I did not try the app as I don't have an Andriod or IOS device in the house to install and they don't have a Windows app. So I can't comment on how that works and what I missed, but the web interface worked without issues. It was nice to see out of the box it choose WPA2/AES as my encryption (strongest for home) by default. Though I did have to turn off WPS. At first I was happy to see no guest network needing to be turned off, but I have since learned that a firmware update will provide us with that later. So it will be another thing to turn off/configure once that occurs. The Orbi itself looks nice. White/clean (ugh) modern design. But unlike the spider aliens it can be placed anywhere in the house and not really stand out. Each unit the base and satellite also have 4 Ethernet ports. Handy if you have old devices that don't have wireless can move the satellite around (assuming signal) and plug them in to update etc. so I liked that. This is a modern unit so it includes MU-MIMO and is able to share your internet among devices. I tested this by maxing my internet connection doing a download on my desktop while others in the house consumed there usual YouTube/Hulu/Netflix and no one was yelling at me. They didn't even know I was doing it. So it can help in a busy household manage your internet and share it amongst the family. Web interface was accurate in showing devices and I could see which unit it was connected to. Had the general security stuff and DNS/DHCP etc. Easy to setup. Swapping router I had it up in under 15 minutes, just swapping my current settings into the Orbi. I do recommend if you don't have them memorized to write them down before hand. Now to the Cons: 1. While the Orbi has USB ports they are USB 2.0 and do not currently support sharing files over them. I believe the USB ports are only for printers. Later updates may change but if you use the USB ports as a cheap quick NAS/Backup this will not work as of 9/16/2016. As I said later firmware may change this. 2. One of the three tri-bands is actually dedicated for connection between the base unit and satellite. This leaves only from what I was seeing looking at the web interface only one 5Ghz band and 2.4 GHz for clients and the max speed on the 5Ghz for clients is 867Mbps. The other 1733 Mbps is used as a backhaul between units. This makes sense to keep enough bandwidth to serve this unit and not step on clients and allow Mu-Mimo to work. But still slightly disappointing when I need to run large file copies around the house. Being able to connect to a faster 5Ghz would have been nice. Esp. since my wireless card supports that. That being said, for everyday use and a busy household and a large house this is a great router system to provide coverage and bandwidth to all. It is a nice system that works, esp. if you are not overly techie.

Orbi Wi-Fi System
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really had my doubts about the Orbi Wi-Fi system. I am a real novice when it comes to networking. I must admit that even I was able to install it and I have not had any Wi-Fi dead spots since then. Really the way to go for a two story house.

Orbi Rescued Us from Lousy Internet
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Our internet has been lousy for years, and we live in an area with almost nonexistent cell reception. Thanks to Orbi, no one grumbles about our internet anymore and we can activate wifi calling and actually use our cell phones. No more constant Netflix buffering!

So far so good
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. My home is 3 levels with a 5 camera Arlo system and wife who can't stop streaming Netflix. My only complaint is that the cameras that are farthest from the router only show 1-2 bars. That's the same as my old router. But at least the streaming upstairs is much better.
