    Love the Orbi

    Decided to buy this because I was tired of dead spots in various locations in our 4000 sq ft home. Well, this took care of that. Setup was pretty easy but I did have to get a firmware update (which wasn't as simple and automatic as I'd hoped.) The firmware update took some time to get moving but once it did and the two units were updated, the speed and consistency were great. I have them about 20 feet apart with the satellite in the middle of my open ranch floor plan. I get a very strong signal pretty much everywhere in my home - upstairs and in the basement. They look great and they work great. Can't ask for much more than that!

    I bought this to replace my Apple Airports. It worked great at the beginning it seemed. But after the first week, it would drop internet connection frequently. Called support and they had me change the MTU number. That seemed to help a little but still experienced issues. This morning I woke to zero wifi at all. Zero. Restarted everything to no avail. Tried calling support but there was an hour wait so I gave up. So regretting this purchase. Will probably just have to eat the cost and get a whole new setup from a different company. What a huge pain in the keister.

    This system is AWFUL. The app refuses to recognize the router even though it’s connected to the internet, which is apparently an issue a lot of users exlerience but Netgear hasn’t bothered to adddress. It constantly loses connection with devices and claims to not recognize the security certificates of sites like Google. I have to reboot everything and reconnect multiple times per day. This system is going back to the store!

    The set up of this router was not as easy as my old apple AirPort Extreme, but once set up it does have better range. Having the satellite unit does help coverage in my house and gives me a pretty good signal everywhere in my house. I don't have the fastest connection, but this router does consistently provide better speeds than my apple airport. My unit had old firmware. I think the install would have went faster if I would have had the newer firmware. I ended up calling tech support for help. I did get someone overseas for tech support, no US support available. I was disconnected once, but was able to get back to the original support person. I spent about an hour online to get it set up. It turned out that the firmware update was probably the key. If it wasn't for the set up difficulty, I would have rated it a 5.

    No Parental Controls on such an expensive router. Speed's are good, security is awful.

    there isabsolutelyno difference in the speed of the computor . asa matter of fact it was faster with the spectrum wifi.

    Had a very big issue trying to set up this system and when I did finally get it hooked up. It decreased my internet wifi.

    I've used several methods to extend my wireless network. The only viable method I've found is a wired method because wireless would get much slower on the extension end of the network. The technical design behind this completely solves that problem, and I can place my extension in a variety of places because I am no longer tethered to the ethernet connection that was run through the walls! On top of that, I can actually plug wired devices into the extension, which is one of those features most devices seemed to not even think about. The setup of the router and extension were simple enough to be on a small folded piece of paper inside the box and very easy to follow. The speed was fantastic, and I did not see a drop in speed testing when I was at the farthest point in my home from the primary router. I will definitely recommend this to my friends and family

    I guess if you can get it to work it's fine. I wasted 4-5 hours on the setup and never could get it to work. I wasted an hour with tech support (40 minute hold time) and the only support I got was turn it off and then turn it back on. BTW, this person had such a strong accent I could just barely understand her.

    I had high hopes that the ORBI system would help my wi-fi but was very disappointed. The main router came up fine but the satellite had great difficulty connecting and whenever it did connect, it didn't stay connected for very long - 5 minutes at most. I tried relocating the units, as far as having direct line of sight but it still didn't work. I eventually gave up and returned it.

    I continuously I've be asked to connect "new device" when I did it, at the end when I connected it all pages has a message of "unsecured" so privacy is compromised.... app failed numerous times, I cannot even tell how many.... probably I had bad luck but definetly I will return this device!

    For the Amount of money that this costs I strongly feel that there should be zero or very little issues. This device has thrown my spectrum service even more off. Our WiFi goes in and out, constantly does the circling loading feature and drops shows. I’m really not much better off now thAn I was just dealing w stupid spectrum to begin with. Cablevision....are you coming to Fla?!!!

    Don’t waste your money. Inconsistent performance in 2400 sq.ft home. Only lasted year and a half before satellite burned out. Netgear doesn’t offer any support after 90 days of purchase and was unable to diagnose problem. Only option was to purchase new satellite at $200. Do not waste your money for product with horrible manufacture support!

    Bought this item based on the reviews as I have som compatibility issues with my current ASUS router. Took it home and unpacked it. Very quickly I discovered that the range is even worse that my current router, and the speed is ridiculously low compared to any other router I have tested. Right at the unit the speed is fine, but go just a short distance away and it reduces by 90%. This item is back in the box less than an hour after unpacking it, and is going back to the store.
