    Worth the money

We just bought a new home and our old WiFi just wasn’t giving us the quality connection we needed. We originally went into the store to buy Eero, but noticed the Orbi. After reading all the reviews on it, we decided to give it a shot. Hands down the best connection we’ve EVER had! I still have WiFi from 4 houses down the street! We love it, and in my house we have almost everything connected to WiFi and still have high speeds on all the devices with NO buffering! I recommend this to anyone who wants their monies worth of their costly internet!

Has been a great WIFI solution so far

Have installed it in 2 places so far (one business, one household) and it seems to work as advertised. Range is solid and so are the speeds we're seeing at both locations. Both locations were going from Apple Airport Extreme Routers (newest AC version - which they're all discontinued now by Apple, but for context I wanted to mention it).

I did before and after tests to see how much my wifi speed improved and the results were amazing (only listed download speeds) (upload speed was just as impressive) (all listed in Mb/s). Basement before 19.5 after 155.3 Family room before 8.2 after 146.9 Driveway before 1.0 after 156.7 Back deck before 0.1 after 26.31 Bedroom before 6.2 after 138.3 This router is awesome! It was very easy to set up and the speed is amazing. It is expensive but no more buffering for me.

    Works well, but...

the design has some misses, most notably the size and indicator lighting. Size: These devices are huge, and I really can't believe that their size is essential to their functionality. They're nearly comically oversized. Lighting: These devices lack a front-facing indicator light, and the indicator light on the top can't be seen during the day, only at night. A light on the front is essential for anyone who puts their router on a shelf above eye level. Why they didn't put the light behind the brand name, to illuminate it, even just subtly, is a mystery to me. Finally, and this is the most annoying aspect of having purchased this product--there's no quick-start guide in the box, just a card promoting the Orbi app, which it turned out wasn't able to successfully complete set-up. I consequently had to call customer service (i.e., waste ~30 minutes), complete set-up online, and then get up-sold two-years of tech support. No, I didn't have to purchase the service contract, but the customer support rep was really good and I'm a nice person. :)

    Fast WiFi, easy setup

I have been struggling to get a decent wifi signal to the media room in my house for a few years. Three different routers and no luck. I finally decided just to hard wire everything. That was a chore but didn’t fix the WiFi. In comes the Orbi. On opening the box you can see how simple they try to make it. No confusing directions, no extra parts. Two routers, two power cables, a network cable, and a quick start guide. No more, no less than needed. Setup was easy with the app, and configuration on the web panel was easy. I only switched to the web to do the firmware updates. My current setup actually has the satellite being hardwired to the main unit. This put the units about 150 feet apart in opposite ends of the house. Results are a clean 300mb down, 12 mb up anywhere in my house. I have some network settings to get updated for a nas before all is said and done but the web console looked detailed enough on first glance to meet the need. Exceeded expectations in every way. Well done Netgear.

Received the Orbi Wifi ac3000 system in the mail. Upon opening the box I immediately plugged the main into the modem and the satellite in an outlet in another part of the house. I pressed the sync button on both and they connected no problem. I then connected my computer to the new network and immediately it took me through the setup process. In just a few minutes I was able to access the internet. My home is over 2000 sq.ft. and with both the main and satellite I get total coverage.

Replaced a supposed 10,000 Sq ft. capable Asus router with the Orbi and one Orbi satellite. Install took about 15-20 minutes. Probably less if I wasn't messing with re-routing a new and longer Ethernet cable from my modem. Coverage is great and faster. We have a large house and these 2 units now cover it all.

    IT'S ABOUT TIME!

I have the Netgear Nighthawk with the Night Hawk Extender. My wife would complain she would sometimes get dropped. I'd reboot the router or her tablet to fix it. Then I saw this ORBI pop up on my facebook & read the other reviews. Ran out & I got it at Best Buy. I only had a 20 minute window to hook it up. I had it setup up & going in that time. It was wonderful. The next day, I ran a speed test & was dismayed I was only getting 60MPS. But it turns out that's what I was paying for through cox cable. I went on line & double my speed to 150MBS. Now my speed teat aveage 180 - 190MBS. I get this speed all through the house. I have a 2 story 2000 sq feet house. My Amazon Fire TV would not hook up in the far bedroom, but the other 2 Fire TV would hook up. I switched them out & that fixed the problem. The problem was the Fire TV. I am running 14 items on WIFI including 2 nest cameras. Very well pleased with this Orbi. When you do the firmware for the satelite unit, download it to a folder first. Then upload it from there. That was the only hicup. Love this ORBI!

Great performance. No parental access control.

First the performance is amazing. I have full coverage in my 3500 sq ft home, plus the basement, garage, and back yard. What's missing are basic parental control features such as access control schedules per device. Why is Netgear so inferior to other brands in that regard? Hopefully this will be improved in a future firmware update.

    Big improvement over traditional router/extenders

I read many reviews of nested WiFi systems before deciding on the Orbi to replace my old system. Yes, they are large pieces, but elegant. Despite a powerful router substituting for the WiFi in my cable modem and 2 range extenders, my home network suffered from mediocre speeds and constant issues switching between the base and one of the extenders. Orbi provides a single SSID and dramatic improvement in data flow throughout the network. Not only did data flow seamlessly throughout the house (4,000 sq ft), the range was improved and instead of 2 extenders, I now have just one satellite. Hook up using the automatic installation process was effortless and troublefree. I had none of the problems others talk about. It was easy to add back my smart home systems, including Nest thermostats and smoke/CO detectors, Hue lights hub, Logitech Harmony hub, Ring doorbell and stickup cam, Rachio controller, August lock and Alexa (Echo). Everything is working faster and better. Very happy with this purchase.

After initially struggling with the setup, I was able to get this system going after redoing the set up. Once I had it set up, everyone's device in my household is receiving a strong wifi signal. I have a 3300 square foot home and we have devices being used in all rooms and they always get good reception with the Orbi. I would highly recommend this product if you have a good size home with multiple devices that require wifi.

I had the Netgear Nighthawk 7000 and upgraded due to poor coverage across my entire home. This product is very fast and easy to setup. We stream a lot, and also stream 4k video. Have had no WiFi drops and very stable Wifi since this has been installed.

We have had nothing but problems with the WIFI in our house since purchasing it. It is an older home with lathe and plaster walls, so the signal quality throughout the house has been poor to non-existent in areas. We have an 1,800 sqft house with another 1,800 below ground. After spending about $1,000 over the past year, I finally waited for this product to come out and it did the trick. It took me about 5 minutes to install and the whole house, both up and down, has excellent an signal, with 4 bars being as low as it gets. This is also extremely fast! I had almost 300 mbps download, and 8 mbps upload speed. Finally a product that works, even in an older home!

Conducted YouTube reviews for best mesh Wi-Fi and decided to try Orbi because it was in my budget range. Installing was intermediate difficulty level with Spectrum modem, not advised for anyone little to no experience. With hardware and software versions updates and satellite SYNC, system was up and running in 30 minutes. The Android Orbi app was not very friendly at first, had to uninstall 3 times in order for it to correctly SYNC with the system. Do not use the APP for setup, use http://orbilogin.com on your cell phone internet and it will auto set up and update your system. With six teens and two adults this system has been running 118 mbs on all phones, 4 TVs, 2 fire sticks, Xbox one X in all areas of the house. Haven't had any connectivity issues with the Spectrum modem, also have 2 PCs hardwired one into each of the routers. Hope this review was helpful.

This device was relatively easy to set up. I did not notice a big difference in speed compared to my other wifi device. At certain times of the day it seemed to slow down, or take longer for things to load. I tried it with several devices connected and then turned some off to see if it had any effect on performance. Overall it is a decent device.

This was easy to install but very pricey. There are other mesh systems that are cheaper...what I liked about this is that my Ring doorbell was compatible.
