Beware if you want LAN capabilities on satellite

So this is a great mesh network. HOWEVER, if you want to use this to get a LAN connection someone else in the house without running a cable from your router, make sure the satellite is far enough away. If the base station and satellites are too close together, the satellite will lose connection every two minutes. I had to have Comcast run a new cable line upstairs because the satellite wouldn’t connect due to distance.

Love the Netgear Orbi router wi-fi system. The system provides excellent range in our home and was easy to setup our secure network.

So, when it’s running like it should it’s reach is amazing. Had issues with sudden drops for a while. Satellite shows disconnected on app but I’m pretty sure it’s working. After resetting my modem a few times, I’m at 5 day’s in a row with out sudden disconnects. Anytime it would drop, you have to power off and reset everything. Extremely annoying. But now that it appears To work it’s been super nice. Very easy to set up with phone app

Orbi's mesh system solved the problem with areas of the house that had weak signals. It was very easy to setup. Additional satellites can be added for more coverage. I did have one issue with my Oculus Quest's WIFI randomly disconnecting. It had to do with Orbi having the same SSID name for both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz. I did find a solution online that fixed the issue for me. All of my other devices works great. I highly recommend this product.

I wanted a mesh system that allowed me to have remote network (NIC) ports for a server and different smart devices (Sonos, Phillips, etc). This worked fantastically. Set up was a breeze on the ipad app. I love that i have the network key saved in the app. Easy to check speeds and troubleshoot / issue guest keys from my phone. Not the cheapest system but it just works. In an ideal world it would be smaller and maybe offered in black, but it's a mesh wifi with 4 network ports on the router and the satellite - so I'm willing to deal.

First let me start by telling you my old hookup. I had an Airport Extreme AC Router (upstairs) along with an Airport Express (living room TV Connection). All of them running a Sony 75” 4k TV, Ooma Telo Voip phone, Xbox 1s hard wired to the router. Sony 55” 4k TV hardwired to the Express in the living room, 2 Bluray players, chrome cast, Roku, 3 smart 1080p tv’s, one laptop and two PC’s, and 3 cell phones all running on WIFI. Soon to have another Xbox when Project Scorpio finally arrives and will either be purchasing the PS4 Pro or the PS5 in the near future as well. I’ve done a lot of research on Mesh WIFI systems and this one (ORBI) came up on top. So I pulled the trigger and got the AC3000 Double Pack and One additional Orbi Satellite from Best Buy. Apple is discontinuing their routers so I purchased and setup the Orbi WIFI. Very easy instructions, very self explanatory. I got everything setup in less than a half an hour. You can do practically everything that any other router can do with this system. I even opened the ports for my Xbox One so it can have an Open NAT as to not give me any problems playing any multiplayer games. This Orbi setup is utterly incredible! My Hardwired and WIFI internet speeds practically Tripled. I was amazed and so was my wife. One of the best priciest purchases I’ve ever made LoL. If you’re on the fence, don’t be. This thing covered my whole house, outside of my home and one of the satellites is working full force in my basement/garage (Concrete slab). Do what I did and pull the trigger and get this if you’re having WIFI/Internet problems in your home. I have a 2500sqft home and I know that I probably didn’t need the triple pack, the double would've sufficed but if you’re gonna go all out on a pricey WIFI system, You might as well go big. Better being safe than sorry and not have to worry about anything robbing you of the internet you originally are paying for. I hope this helps anyone interested but not quite sure on which WIFI system to buy. Again I say, there are several out there to choose from but if you have a large home 2500sqft or more and with dead zones, look no further. THIS IS IT!!! P.S. Oh BTW, I even forgot to disconnect my airport express that was connected to my 55” Sony 4k TV when I switched from Airport Extreme to the Orbi WIFI System and it is still working with the Orbi!!! What a plus LoL!

I purchased this so I could have internet access out on the screened in porch. We live in a split level home. The router (RBR50) resides on the lower level and is connected to a FIOS router via an ethernet cable. I have the Orbi setup as an access point. The RBS50 is on the upper level, same level as the screened in porch. The RBS50 provides excellent signal strength when out on the porch and that is what we wanted. We have only had this system for a little over a month and so far we have not experienced any problems.

These are okay but I didn't realize there was such a difference in price but that is because the ones that are higher than these are actually much faster and do much better I would say these are the beginner but go ahead and spend 500 more for a better pair or if you can buy the $1,400 set and you surely will be happy

Replaces a previous NETGEAR router that was good but didn't provide as many options. This router + satellite is fantastic! I have the satellite near some AV equipment that lacked WiFi capability. The ability to run wired connections to this equipment from the satellite saved investing in retrofitting cable. The router is on the 2nd floor in a corner (not recommended) but signal is still very string throughout a 2500+ sq. ft. house.

I live in a 3000 sqare foot two story house where my internet access comes in on the second floor in the back of the house and my living room is on the first floor in the front of the house where game systems, laptops, ipads, etc are typically used. Before the Orbi I would get around 5-10mbps down and around 1mbps up. With the Orbi I know get around 150mbps down and 30mbps up! The Orbi satellite also has four ethernet ports in the back so you can plug devices directly into the satellite instead of having to set up wifi. I do not regret this purchase at all,

Setup was a breeze. Out of the box to completed setup was less than 10 minutes. Prior to the Orbi system, connection dropped at a fairly consistent clip (at least once per day). Not one issue in the 4 weeks I have been using the Orbi system. In addition, the app is easy to use and the parental controls/auto device shutdown are fantastic. Side note, didn’t tell the kids I could do this, so they think the device is broken. All in all, really happy with my purchase.
