I upgraded to Fiber internet and wanted a wireless router that woudl allow me to benefit from the 1000/1000 speed I hard ordered and this Orbi setup delivers big time. Setting up was a little confusing at first, but suddenly it found everything including the satellite and set itself up on its own which was pretty cool. Speed-wise, this Orbi setup delivers. Aesthetics.. its ugly, but I'll place it out of the way so its not so visible to guests. I give it a A. Get it.

What a great buy. A bit expensive but never had such good coverage. A 2 story 4500 sq ft house is no challenge for this beast.

The wifi coverage in my house and around my yard has never been better. This mesh wifi system plugged all the holes in my wifi coverage under my previous Netgear Nighthawk AC1900. I get wifi even at the deck of the pool nearly 30 feet from the house. I chose this product over getting an extender thinking that it would be better than manually switching networks in different parts of my house. It was well worth the extra cost.

I had the Netgear Nighthawk 1900 and I thought that was a good machine. I have 500mbs sec and was getting under 300mbs with the Nighthawk. Granted it is older, but once I put up the Orbi, I hit almost 470mbs. Just saying... wow

Mesh routers are great for WFH

Needed a new wifi system, as the old one was prob 7-8 years old, and starting to drop, and have a hard time keeping up with a WFH life. The difference with the Netgear mesh system was spectacular - noticeable in home much faster things joined and ran, and work tasks and meeting were much smoother - for good or il.

We've been using the Orbi setup for a few months now. So far it's a solid performer. We generally have 5-8 simultaneously connected devices across a large area (single story home) and have no connectivity issues since purchase.

Works great for multiple Lifx bulbs

My original Asus router/Netgear Extender did a good job but I have 21 Lifx bulbs and a lot of them would constantly drop off the network. No matter what I tried I could never get all 21 bulbs to always stay connected. I read that mesh systems do a better job so I decided to give Orbi a try. Initial setup was kinda of annoying. It wouldn't connect to the satellite easily. The satellite wouldn't turn solid white like the instruction said they would before you can continue. After 3 resets it finally worked. It's been 3 days now and I haven't lost a bulb on the network at all! While this is supposed to cover 5000 sqft. I assumed I'd get a super strong signal in any room in my 1800 sqft. home but I still get areas that would be "good" instead of "excellent". It's fine but just thought every area would be "excellent". The router/system itself looks more like a decorative piece than a router which makes it blend a little more easily into your home. Would be nice if there were more color options or some kind of wrap where you could change the color but I would assume a wrap may mess with the internal antennas? What do i know. Another reason I went with Orbi was because it has the built in LAN ports. Sure I could get the google mesh system but then you have to by a hub too. I like having it all in one with no attachments hanging off. The ads for the LAN ports are a little misleading. They tell you that you can connect 4 devices but you need 1 on the router for the cable modem. But anyone computer savvy enough will know that already. Overall, the Orbi is a great success with my Lifx bulbs and getting an overall better signal throughout my home. If you're having trouble keeping Lifx bulbs on the network using a regular wifi router you should give a mesh system a try.

Needed an upgrade to the DSL-configured network that was hampered by a standard modem/router and a wireless access point. I have a 1600 sq. ft. home with a 1250 sq. ft. wrap-around patio complex and had wireless dead spots in several areas. Placing the base at one end if the house with the DSL modem (wireless radio turned off), and the satellite at the other end, allowed me to use the system’s beam forming antennas to improve signal strength and throughput throughout the house and patios.

Big improvement over my Night Hawk 8500

I could not set up the mesh system from my desk top computer. However, my son quickly got it set up using his smart phone. My night Hawk 8500 wireless router was being used as a range extender and it went to constant reboot mode finally showing only a red light. I replaced that with the Orbi and I find stronger signal throughout my 6800 sq. ft. ranch home. Moving about my home the signal is seamless even when transitioning between the router and the satellite. I would rate this as excellent, but I have not had it long enough to know it will stand up over time or die like my Night Hawk 8500.

After 2 years of spotty WiFi performance and trouble streaming content on Apple TV (including increasing our Optimum speed to 100 MBits), we finally have a great network. We replaced the Optimum router (which would only give 100 MBits of WiFi within a few feet, dropping off quickly to the mid 20s) with the Orbi AC3000 Tri-Band system. The Orbi gives us consistent 100+ speeds anywhere in our townhouse. No more dropped signals or buffering problems when streaming movies, even while concurrently surfing on 2 iPads!

My old 1920's bungalow and its plaster walls just ate up my Wi-Fi signals. My poor wife suffered through slow internet speeds with frequent drop-offs from our network at her 2nd floor office location.. Several tries at new modems and added repeaters did little to get a good signal to her, until.....Orbi by Netgear. Thank goodness I spoke with the Best Buy Mgr. and was directed to this new technology! After a really expert setup by the Geek Squad, I now have 5 bar coverage in every nook and cranny of my home. This is HIGHLY recommended.

Incredibly easy to setup. Covers the entire house and with the extra ethernet ports on the router and satellite is very flexible.
