Awesome Access Point!!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Netgear Orbi Wireless Router is designed to give the best Wi-Fi coverage in large, internet dependent homes. At its cost, it is clear that this device is targeted for the upper tier in the networking market. However, I was able to use this in my apartment for Wi-Fi, as my existing router started to have many inconsistent drops and high ping latencies during speed tests or streaming video. I was surprised at how easy it was to setup considering networking products usually take a bit of troubleshooting to work right off the bat. They rarely work the first time. The Orbi, however, worked immediately! The physical product itself is felt quite unique and was a pleasant surprise. I love the style of the Orbi and its modern appearance. Inside the box, you will find the main router unit as well as one satellite to place away from the router to assist with spreading the Wi-Fi signal. The unit itself has somewhat of a rubbery feel, but it does not feel cheap. I like the oval shape as well as it sets it apart from the traditional router. On the back of both units, you will find 4 Ethernet ports for devices and one port for the internet port. There is also a USB port and a sync button. Also, the light activity on the top is pretty neat as well. The illumination is sweet! As for setup, I would like to first mention that my apartment is on the small side at around 500sq feet. The main unit itself was so powerful that the range has full bars on my phone and tablet no matter where I am. However, I went ahead and added the satellite and on the first setup, it took roughly a minute or two to discover the main router and illuminated blue. I was quite shocked since I usually do not have this type of luck with Wi-Fi setups. Moving on, I also downloaded the Netgear Genie app and was able to view all the statues with my network. I also liked the performance analysis and was able to scan the various channels for congestion. I made a simple change and it worked after 90 seconds and did not interrupt my streaming. I also fiddled with the setup on the web based setup and I like how simple the interface is. One thing I noticed, and perhaps I might have missed it, was I did not see an option to split up the SSID by frequency and have one for the 2.4 and one for 5 GHZ. Other than that this is just a minor issue. My ISP had listed the download rate at 22 MBPS and my upload was 2 MBPS. For more than a year, I did not have any issues. About 6 months ago, I started having abrupt speeds, anywhere from 5 MBPS to the full 22 MBPS. Latency on performance tests were also up and down and inconsistent. Afterwards, with only the main Orbi unit connected, I noticed the speed would hold anywhere from 20-22 MBPS hasn't dropped since. In addition, I contacted my ISP and upgraded the speed to 30 MBPS and the Orbi has been right with it. I received anywhere from 27-30 MBPS on my last few tests. This has been a life saver! In addition, once I added the satellite I did not notice any improvement as the range on the main unit has been ridiculously good. Since my apartment is so small, this was not surprising. On larger houses or apartments, I have no doubt you will see a nice improvement especially if there are dead zones in the vicinity. Also, if you have an extremely fast connection, I couldn't even fathom how great that experience would be. The Netgear Orbi Wireless router has been an essential product and I highly recommend it to households who require high performance networking. In addition, it allowed me to use it as an access point and disable the wireless on my original router and have the Orbi handle it. At its price, it might be a bit steep for some people, but I have no doubt you would be extremely satisfied by its performance. It might prove to be a networking favorite!

Sweet!!!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This setup works sweet for my two story, approximate 3,000 square foot house. I had a high end setup from a couple years ago that stayed in one location and had good internet reception. I put one of the included Orbi towers upstairs and the wireless one downstairs. My internet reception is incredible now and works good from a much further distance.

Does the job!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Purchased this product after much online research and very happy I did. Easy to setup, tremendous difference in coverage / signal strength compared to my previous setup (wifi extenders). Flawlessly streams Ultra 4k video. Also, all my Hue lights (11) and Sonos speakers (8) easily recognized and joined the Orbi network with no problems at all.

Good reception for new router in living room.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I improved my connectivity in the living room, my doorbell camera & my garage door opener. I can hook my TV up to an Ethernet connection now. Nice clean look for the router & satellite. I had one of the older Netgear routers with the problems updating & patching the firmware on them.

Large area router with satellite router
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far (about a month of use) this router and its equally strong satellite have been the best router we've ever had. Lots of brick walls and multi floors at the house, which made connection to a typical router sketchy at best -when not in its immediate vicinity. Easy to set up, and has been extremely dependable.

New Ken Chip
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These worked great for a short time I needed something to boost the WIFI Signal and these did the trick. BUT the RING door bell will not work with the AC3000 as Ring tech said these are to powerful, I don't understand either. These Orbit AC3000 really did boost the signal.

Best Router I’ve ever purchased!!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the best router I’ve ever purchase. Well worth the money. We no longer have to reboot. No more buffering while streaming. Strong signals. My daughter isn’t crying the Ipad is not working. It’s the best investment! The app is great too. Very easy set up. The easiest I’ve ever used!

I like to think my internet is better now.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have mixing opinion on this product. It was very easy to install but the speed test From orbi always give me like 230 mbps but the speedtest.com give me 65 mbps and that had me confused. I will update this review when I figured out. To be honest for the amount of money I paid I don’t see the $300 difference. Maybe is me!!! I don’t know!

SIMPLY THE BEST!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very happy with these!! I was a little nervous because of the price but you definitely get what you pay for. I have tried another extender before and it didn’t do much for me. I have AT&T Fiber service which was running okay but my house is a large two story so the smart tvs in the rooms upstairs we’re having some intermittent connection issues. In this day and age everything is going through my homes Wi-Fi’s and with multiple devices running at the same time it just wasn’t enough. Adding Orbi has been amazing!!! I have the main Orbi next to the AT&T router because the Orbi feeds off your existing WiFi and I have the second satellite upstairs. I have had no connection issues since installing these. Super easy installation!!! I was able to do it myself quickly. Basically a plug and play!

Just works!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great system. On the expensive side, but it is similar to the competition (which I didn't try). I had 2 high performance ASUS routers: first one as the main, the second one as an access point (NOT extender - which reduces your bandwidth) to augment the coverage. It is quite tricky to setup and didn't work as well as the Orbi Mesh System.

Super easy setup and great coverage
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this unit has been great. It would receive 5 stars if it let you set different SSIDs for 2.4 vs 5 signals. I get why they keep the single name to keep things easier but it would also be nice if they allowed this setup through advanced options. I have full coverage throughout the house where as before I'd lose my wifi in the garage. Perfect set it and forget it system so far.
