Great system plus TotalTech for the win!
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was recommended by the total tech installer. We made the jump and are glad to have better internet in our home. A friend who is head of tech for a large corporation in town uses the same in his home. Total tech installed it and I am so grateful!

Great idea, not great product
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Returned as the Orbi base modem/router would not acknowledge signal coming in, of course that meant no broadcast out. Great concept for all in one unit but just didn't work, even after a phone call to Netgear lasting almost 1-1/2 hours to trouble shoot. Wasted money and time.

HARD PASS! Trust me on this...
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my second Orbi product and an utter disappointment. For whatever reason, even though my base station and satellite are placed in the EXACT locations of my older Orbi setup (roughly 90 feet apart...well within their specs), the satellite barely puts out 10 mbps (old version put out 250 mbps+). If I unplug the new satellite, I get 450 mbps from my base router at the satellite location. My home is only 1600 sq feet, easily within the specs that Netgear touts (they indicates works in homes up to 3,500 sq. feet). I wanted the satellite to be able to push wifi signal out to my backyard for IoT devices. I've spent hours on support calls, upgraded firmware, hard reboots multiple times, had the satellite replaced, and no difference. It was close to impossible for Netgear to finally agree to replace the satellite. My admin screen shows GOOD backhaul to the satellite (of course it does) but it's only pushing 10 mbps. At this point I've completely lost faith in Netgear. I've had Nighthawk modems and a previous Orbi set up with no issues.

Pathetic to connect
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Too difficult to connect to new device. Mostly old IoT are not connecting. I did connected by removing WiFi password protection for few mins and then connected. Re enabled WiFi password. Satellite is , sitting in same room for more than 3 days. Tried connecting by clicking synch button from app, from web portal, from satellite service, from main device. All options are tried. Still not connecting.

Never worked over 30mbs download
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We could never get the download channels to lock. We wasted too many hours. max download speed was 30mbs (service goes up to 250mbs). Cox is our provider and says their side is fine and worked fine with our old Motorola Surfboard. Netgear support was terrible with no real help. Returning this product.

Will not work with Xfinity/Comcast in CO Springs
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Does not work with Xfinity/Comcast as advertised. You have to go on-line to get user support groups to get it to partially work. Way too much technical/reconfiguring for the average user.

Hidden purchase required.
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product shout have a warning on the packaging that a firewall, that is only available at an exra cost, is required to get the modem to function. I was on the phone with my ISP and the Netgear tech support at the same time when i was told this by the Netgear tech support. Needless to say I returned the product, which required a four hour round trip. Don't buy this unless you are willing to spend money on a hidded cost.

THIS PIECE OF CRAP IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased the modem router mesh for my home in Feb, As of lately the internet signal keeps dropping. I purchased the extended warranty at the time of set up. When I called for support, I was told the extended warranty only covered hardware.. this person just assumed it was a ddos attack with no proof and wanted me to pay more. I hung up!

Worst cable modem router combo I've ever used!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had nothing but consistent issues with this device pretty much since owning it! Their preferred method for installing the device is via the app which doesn't work, even to this day! If you do buy this device, you're better off using a browser on your laptop to install it. The wifi connection is super unstable and I lose connection very often although I'm beside the router and it's supposedly covers 5,000 sq ft. I have been working with Netgear support for almost a year now on these issues with no resolve yet. Save your money and buy a device from a reputable company that prioritizes quality service, parts and support.
