I bought this to speed up the WiFi access in my room. I game and was struggling with my internet lagging. This product was easy to install and made an immediate difference in the internet speed in my room. I plan to bring a set to college with me to increase the internet speed in my dorm room.

I always buy Netgear products for quality and easy installation. However, this product is not perfect yet and needs a lot of patience and tweaking. I am very computer and networks savvy so I'm typically comfortable with installation. However, for this product initially had to reset it to factory default few times till I got it to work. Further, you need to run it few days till it is really stable and you get the ALL GREEN lights. If you see the red light don't be alarmed but the units goes to sleep mode so the light turns red which is confusing during installation given you don't know that you picked a good location or not. Highly priced, but it is high speed internet over power so buy it if you really need it otherwise I don't recommend.

Used this to run from my house to my detached garage. Took some tweaking but once I found the best outlet to it works like a charm.

Powerline adapters have come a long way!

The PLP2000 exceeded my expectations. There used to be lots of reports of issues using earlier generation powerline adapters across circuits and on different floors of a home, etc.. I took a chance, not hoping for much, and had no issues at all no matter where I moved the adapters within my home! I am very, very impressed, and always had a fast connection. The performance of these adapters is incredible. The only reason for the 4-star review is that they designed these adapters so that the top of them "appear" that they will not block a top outlet in a standard 2-outlet wall-plate, but they intrude just barely enough that you can forget about plugging any 3-prong plug into the top outlet of your wall-plate while one of these is plugged in to the bottom outlet. It's frustrating that they were so, so close from being able to keep the top outlet totally useable, but either could not manage to do it or chose not to do it. Their saving grace is that they have the passthrough outlet on the front of each adapter. You will need to use those.

Got tired of relying on wifi, almost doubled the speed of my downloads by using this. The outlet function is the only thing i wish was better. It's a bit bulky so it almost blocks the second outlet and makes it unusable for anything relying on the 3 prong. You might be able to squeeze in a small android charger on the second outlet, but a iPhone cube brick charger will not fit right above this on the second outlet you would have to use the outlet attached to this proofing l product instead. Only downside so far.

Although not ideal, I require to set up in order to connect ASIC miners that were removed from my router located in a more sounded appropriate dampening environment. Even with my 1950s home has wiring and upgraded electrical for a small bit mining operation. This device by Netgear allowed for connection fall asleep between two rooms, separated by other rooms in between and allow for encryption integrated into the unit for additional security although not a direct line and not power over ethernet for which I would not recommend for this set up, these units provided ethernet capability and connection with my router in a removed space. Set up was easy, and the product itself will indicate the strength of ethernet connections highly recommend five star.

Was skeptical about using this to turn electrical wiring in house into Ethernet extension, but it actually works very well, and it was easy to set up! If your WiFi doesn’t provide coverage throughout your house, and you want to have internet access in a distant part of your house without running cables, this is what you need.

I picked these up to work from home. The modem could not be moved, and I needed a wired internet connection in the floor below. I *could* just run a 100' cable or so, but - no. That would not work. I picked these in part because of the electrical plug passthrough. Setup could not have been easier. Plug in, press button, do the same on the other side, connect, done. The signal has been reliable and I've had no slowdowns due to equipment. The *only* criticism I have of these is that they will block a plug. You can plug them in the top plug of an outlet, in which case - quite obviously - they'll block the bottom. But plugging it in to the bottom outlet, you will probably discover the area above the plug in the device is blocked for any grounded plug. It's just barely (maybe 1 1/2 mm) too tall. If that could be shaved down, this would be perfect, in my opinion. Recommended.

I love the fact, that with this device, you don't need a physical ethernet or wifi connection. You can create a fast and reliable connection any where, with just a modem/router and an outlet. Great alternative if you don't have the necessary cables needed for traditional ethernet.

I was searching for a simple and cost effective way to get WiFi in my pool house. The salesperson at Best Buy recommended the NETGEAR Powerline adapter. The Powerline utilizes your existing copper powerline as a CAT V cable. To set it up, I plugged one of the Powerline adapters, into the wall outlet near my main Verizon router. I connected a CAT V cable from the Verizon router to the Powerline adapter. I plugged the 2nd Powerline adapter into the wall behind the TV in the pool house. Then I connected a CAT V cable from that Powerline adapter to an extra LinkSys wireless router, which I used as an access point. I happy to say that we can now watch Amazon, Netflix and Disney + at the pool. This was an easy and affordable solution.

This is awesome. I couldn't believe it would be as easy as it sounds, but it really was. Plug one in, plug the other in. Press the button on both. You have a 2 minute window between pushing the buttons on each to pair them. THAT'S IT !!! You're done with the set up! The signal & speed is great! Much better than wifi. I will buy a few more of these.

Super easy to set up, and I'm now getting the full speed. With the Powerline 1200, I was only getting 48Mbps (my internet speed is 100Mbps). With these, I'm getting my full 100Mbps from one end of the house to the other.

I was hesitant to make this purchase because I only believed a hard wired connection would get me the fastest speeds. I was wrong this product was easy to hook up literally plugging it into the socket plugging the Ethernet in and pushing a button. Completely worth it to keep getting the high internet speeds you are paying for.

I recently got this because the other one that I had with one ethernet wasn't doing the job so I got this one and what can I say except that I love it. This lets me connect a switcher to it and allows me to play videogames without lag from a very far distance from the router. I would recommend this to any gamer who has lag and hates it.

The device works as it should and is easy to set up. Unfortunately, I will be returning due to the signal at half what it should be, not the device's fault but due to my home being built at older times blocking a lot of wifi in my house. so it just gets a little over 100GBS when my wifi and internet are at 500GBS. so being a gamer it's not the speed I want. If you work from home and stuff it will do if you want to have a direct connection for your work computer.

We were using a wifi extender but that just wasn't enough when working from home. Got this and after 5 min to setup, worked like a charm. It's not quite a good as being directly connected but better than running a cord all over the house!

Had WiFi issues between my upstairs and downstairs. This product fixed that without needing WiFi extenders or running wire. Internet speeds are great. Plugged one in upstairs by my router and the other one in my living room. No lag issues. Works right out of the box

I have this Powerline adapter connected to a Smart TV in my loft because my chimey blocks WiFi. I bought this as a last resort and I couldn't be more impressed with the results. The smart TV never buffers anymore! Simple plug and play. There's even a second Ethernet port so I can easily add a console or PC to the loft in the future!
