Q: What is the maximum speed this NETGEAR Powerline can achieve?

A: This NETGEAR Powerline offers extremely fast speeds up to 2000 Mbps.

Q: Does the NETGEAR Powerline have any security features?

A: Yes, it encrypts Powerline network connections with the touch of a button using the Push-and-Secure button.

Q: How many ethernet ports does the NETGEAR Powerline have?

A: The NETGEAR Powerline has two (2) RJ-45 Ethernet ports.

Q: Does this device require any software installation?

A: No, this device is plug and play and does not require any software installation.

Q: Can you pair more than the two? So if you bought two sets of these and put 1 connected to the router and the other 3 in different areas in your house for wired connectivity could the other 3 be paired to the one connected to the router?

A: Yes you can. I have a similar configuration in my home...one by my router which I was able to pair up with the others at different locations in my home (very easy to do...just follow the instruction given on pairing with the other powelines).

Q: Questions: I have a router for my Internet. Does this have to be plugged into it? If the router is plugged in, if I plug the other Powerline into a room where I want faster WiFi, will it automatically make all devices in that room faster?

A: You have to plug one device into your router and then insert that same device into a nearby electrical outlet. Then you can plug the other device in a basement or any other rooms electrical outlet. This enables you to have a hardwired connection in the room you choose which is faster than WiFi, you are essentially connecting the second device directly to your router by using your existing electrical wiring throughout your home. Works great, I used mine to connect a smart TV directly to my router.

Q: I have an outbuilding about 20 feet from my house that does not get any type of reception. If I plug one receiver in my house and the other in the garage do I need to get another router to get WiFi or will the receiver provide a signal?

A: First: the outbuilding and the house MUST be on the same circuit breaker panel or this pair will not work. Make sure that the outbuilding does not have its own feed directly from the power company (which would mean that it has its own meter, too). If you are on the same breaker panel... then, yes, you would need a separate WiFi access point for the remote end. This unit provides a wired Ethernet port on the remote end, not a WiFi connection. There are setups that do what you are asking about... they are "WiFi extenders over power line."

    A Hidden Gem

Not many people use these types of devices, but for what it’s worth, it makes a satisfying and compelling case for why it exists. Why did I buy it? My situation was that even though I have 200mbs down, and 30ms ping times in games, my wifi would cause horrible stutter in online games, while the rest of the internet, streaming, downloading etc is completely fine. So how do I fix this issue without having to either rope a 100ft cable through my home, or buy a $500 new wifi 6 router? The Answer: Netgear Powerline Adapter I plugged one powerline adapter into my room, and attached the ethernet cord to my PC. Plugged the second one into the outlet where my Router is, and connected the ethernet cord from the router into the powerline adapter. Once you hit the sync button it takes care of itself and creates a new wired network through your home’s electrical wiring and I no longer have any stuttering. All of my problems have vanished with this new method and I couldn’t be more satisfied, more people should use these devices, they are simple and easy to install, 3 minutes tops if you follow directions, seriously.

    Ps5 saver

My ps5 absolutely hates CenturyLink (me too especially since dsl is the only option in my area) Games would ping 2-300 constantly with 10mbps and under download speeds. Even had to take it to a friends house just to get things downloaded/ updated. My series X never had this issue and would regularly get 50mbps download speeds and stay under 100ping so I figured to give this device a shot hearing the mixed reviews. It truly saved me from running cat6 cords through the attic just to use the device online. Can actually download and play games with low latency and not worry about any jitter (ping stays under 100 now). Set up was extremely easy truly a plug and play device. Would recommend this over any “Wi-Fi extender”

    Bye crappy wifi

WIFI is unreliable, if you notice that your smart TV buffers a lot or your video game is laggy get one of these and connect your devices with ethernet, and kiss goodbye to random disconnections and slowdowns. These are pretty much plug and play, so I can't get easier to install. Just don't put them in a power strip, connect them directly to the wall.
