DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought matching a N600 router and N600 adapter they worked perfectly until the new firmware came out "v1.0.0.50" it disconnects every 10-20secs, I step down to the old firmware that i used to have which is .38 and it bottled neck my speed connection. I should be getting 35mbps but I only get 2mbps. I get full speed when I'm connected via Ethernet cable but poor speed when I connect to WiFi even if the adapter is sitting on top of the router. I have a lot of WiFi devices TV, ps3, xbox360, PC, laptop & mobile phones this won't work efficiently if you'll buy this product. NO TO THIS PRODUCT! P.S. I called Netgear to get this issue fixed and they want me to pay extra $179 to troubleshoot this **** thing.

Decent adapter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This wasn't a bad adapter when I bought it a year and a half ago. It did its' job as long as it was manually connected to a network. Up until now my only problems were the fluctuating signal strength and connection speed, but recently the software and drivers stopped working because it was never digitally signed by Microsoft. As a result Windows XP no longer allows it to run because it thinks this is a security hazard, which has now permanently disconnected my computer from the outside world. I tried to install an updated driver/software combo hoping it would be digitally signed, but nothing's changed. I wouldn't recommend this or any other adapter unless the box it came in showed it was approved by Microsoft.

Didn't resolve my deadspot issue
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After my Belkin wireless router finally died, I bought the NETGEAR - RangeMax Dual-Band Wireless-N Router with 4-Port Gigabit Ethernet Switch (Model: WNDR3700-100NAS). I have a deadspot in the farthest room in the house, and was only able to get a fair G signal there using the old Belkin router with an Access Point/Extender. I was hoping that maybe this RangeMax router would get a better signal up there via the Belkin wireless G USB adapter; it didn't. So I bought this Netgear USB device, figuring that with both the router and the USB adapter being RangeMax, maybe I would get a better signal (as indicated in their advertising). Well, it made absolutely no difference. The signal strength of the N was ~50%, but the G was ~80%. Even with that, I still had frequent drops (and a very angry daughter who was happier with the much older Belkin setup). Surprised and disappointed, I returned this unit and tried the NETGEAR - Ethernet Extender Kit (Model: XEB1004-100NAS). Wow, what a difference. This thing transmits the Ethernet signal over the powerlines in your house. It works great. While I think that the Netgear USB device may be decent with its partner router for use on a laptop that roams the house, I would strongly recommend going with the Netgear Powerline device (see my other review) for a fixed computer (i.e., desktop) that lives in an area with poor signal reception.

Fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Connection is quick and automatic, just check to make sure you are always on a trusted site. Never assume computer connections are always safe. I use this on my major system, but I have redundant security systems in effect checking everything.

Good Wireless USB Adapter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Use the wireless adapter to hook come computer t a NetGear N-600 Wireless Router. Was extremely easy to hook up and has provided a stong signal when using 2.4 G setting. For our home use it provide good download speeds.

Fast and Easy Install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Needed to add WiFi to an old computer. Super easy to install. You will need a computer with CDROM to install the drivers; just saying that because a lot of computer nowadays come without. No issues since.

Connection issues, but fast
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had several connection issues that seem to be a function of the seating of the adapter. It seems to be *very* sensitive to the USB port insertion. I have two USB hubs and the hub that I am currently using seems to be working better. I connect routinely at 270 MBPS which is awesome; I am connected at that speed as I type this review.
