Q: anyone know the range of this adapter?
A: Mine has excellent reception from 50 feet through 4 walls.

A: No. It just allows all your wireless devices to speak to your cable modem.

A: You can use this on pretty much any desktop regardless of ethernet capability. All you need is a USB port, preferably a high speed and just install the driver on the disk it comes with.
