Customers are saying
Customers are delighted by the RangeMax IEEE 802.11n USB - Wi-Fi Adapter's ease of use, performance, and range. Many appreciate its simple installation and reliable connection, frequently noting the strong signal and good value for the price. While some users experienced compatibility issues or found the adapter somewhat bulky, the positive feedback on performance and ease of use outweighs these concerns.

peice of junk
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It took 3 times to install this thing. Each time I tried I had to reboot the computer. The third time it installed but the first two times it left the computer hanging and me having to restart. Once I got it installed the computer was able to find it but it was unable to find any networks. It eventually found the network after several attempts. Then whenever I turned off the computer the software had to be reinstalled when I turned it on again. Reading through the help files I learned I needed to save a profile but for some reason which I was never able to find out I was not able to. I also owned a Netgear router which gave me nothing but problems. The adapter was a gift which I was reluctant to use because of prior experience. Things like losing connections and connections taking longer than expected to establish have soured me to this brand and I will not buy from them any more.

Constantly Disconnects....Very disappointing!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have an older Dell laptop that recently burned up my trusty Linksys PCMCIA WIFI card. So in a hunt for something new and since I already have Netgear networking equipment in my house (router and switch) that has been bulletproof I thought I'll try this adapter as a replacement. Well it was more expensive than I would have liked ($70.00), but I took a plunge. Installation with the included CD was simple and configured the interface with both the Windows Wireless Zero utility and the Netgear utility (after uninstall / reinstall again to get that choice...) and found constant problems with dropping connections, disabling itself in Network Connections, and having to constantly unplug and plug back into USB in order to reconnect. CONNECTION AT MOST LASTED 5 MINUTES WHICH IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Returned to Best Buy and replaced with another vendor which works perfectly.

Terrible Product Support I Gave up on Netgear
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I brought this item because the box said it was compatible with the new Panasonic G25 TV. I checket the netgear web site and it said it was indeed compatible with this TV. I had trouble installing it and when I called netgear I was told it was not compatible. I asked to speak to a supervisor who told me the same thing. Both of their minds were closed and they refused to listen when I told them both the box in my hand and their company's website said it was compatible. I gave up and returned the product to Best Buy being sure to point out to the return clerk the box said it was compatible. I have no doubt that this is compatible with the new Panasonic G series.

Will not work on Panasonic tv w/Cisco rtr
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had to give it one star as I bought it to use as a wireless adapter for my parents Panasonic tv (tc-p42x) for which it is advertised to work with- it did NOT. It was a version 2, but failed to provide a usable connection with a Cisco router. Netflix failed, Cinema Now was jerky and unstable. Internet connection test showed it was hooked up 100%- the performance, however, was more like 10%. Checked the usual suspects, firewall, updates, etc. No go. Remember back when hooking up wireless routers were a total nightmare? Welcome back! Shame on Netgear for not making their product work as advertised. Shame on Panasonic for not including wireless hardware IN their tv's.

Exchanged for Linksys Adapters
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought (2) installed one on an XP computer, and the other on a new (out of the box) Windows 7. Neither computer would connect using the software provided. They would continually scan but never find a network to connect to. I changed the setting for Windows to manage the wireless networks, and connected OK. As soon as Windows wireless estalished a connection, the software saw the connection and turned green LOL!. I would have been OK with that as a solution, but after a reboot, it would not automatically reconnect. Have to select the network, and choose connect everytime. Replaced the Netgear adapters with (cheaper) Linksys adapters, and have been working fine.

Major fail!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This device constantly disconnects from router, or worse, it becomes unrecognized by the computer in the middle of using it. Then a message pops up saying "device not recognized". I have to unplug it from USB, then plug it back in a few times until it is recognized again. Worked with support once and they helped to reinstall drivers which worked for a day. Now I need to contact them again (though they are very nice). Overall, not worth it.

Crashes Routers that are not Netgear
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you are using this with the matching netGear router this may work okay, but even matching this with my N600 router the performance maxes at 30 Mbps. When I pair this with my other brand router, it completely tanks the Internet connection. Because of low transfer speed and crashing other brand routers, I have to rate this Poor. You'd be better off with Belkin.

Awful, didn't work and NO TECH SUPPORT
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this and had problems with the installation, called NetGear tech support, took 4 phone calls (2 dropped and 1 sent to the wrong location) just to be transferred from a call warehouse to a tech and the tech said he couldn't help me, didn't ask any questions, offer any suggestions other than to contact my internet provider. He was condescending to boot! Useless company and, therefore, useless product

Beware if you need help
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll make this short and sweet. After 90 days, you are on your own. Wireless adapter worked great for a while. It dropped off and now I can't get it connected. NetGear will not help unless I pay $39.99 for "extended warrant support". When I asked why I wouldn't just buy a new Belkin for less they had no answer. This will be the last NetGear product I ever buy.

Too complicated
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The directions were not clear and were not detailed enough. It kept referring to a secondary button and there was none. It was worthless and kept "connecting" in a holding pattern that never "connected" to any Wi-Fi, of the two I have at home. Absolutely worthless! Took it back.

Waste of time and money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So we bought 2 of these, one for each of our computers and even though our laptop could access our router, these would not. Tried resetting, different USB ports, updating, everything and it DID NOT work. We're just going to wait to go wireless til we upgrade our computers.

Find Something Else
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am NOT very happy with the purchase. More often than not, I either have to reboot my system, or wait 20 to 30 minutes for this device to connect to my mobile HotSpot. When it works, it works OK, but the intial connection is very frustrating.

Garbage
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was a piece of garbage it was inconsistent with terrible install nightmare. Only thing that saves the company was the great tech support guy. He wasnt able to fix the garbage product but he tried.

NETGEAR RangeMax Dual-Band Wireless-N USB Adapter
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a defective item. It is suppose to receive a stronger signal from the router. Instead it is weaker.
