With the disk that came with the unit, it found my network quickly and I was online in minutes.

This is a basic wireless device. We got it to connect or old PC to the network because the store did not carry internal wireless cards. The speed is good and setup was easy. Not much more to say. No dropped connections since we bought it in June.

Needed an antenna for a wireless network card but nobody actually carries the replacement antennas. I checked online sites to purchase some and they ranged in price from $1 to $30 depending on the type of antenna. When I had ordered one of the replacement ones exactly like those that ship with the cards themselves, it was cheap but took 6 months to actually arrive (honest, it did) so I wanted to find something available in store and this was reasonably priced and in stock so I purchased it. Installation was simple, just plug it into a USB port and run the disk. Once installed it worked perfectly, was able to pick up the signal better than the card in the computer and freed up that pci slot. This has maintained a high signal capture and hasn't had any instances of signal loss that I previously experienced so it's been money well spent.

I bought this to upgrade my fairly old Windows 7 laptop so it would operate on the 5G side of my network. I wanted to put all MY devices on the 5G so I could shut the 2.4G network (that my kids use) off at night. I had been becoming a bit impatient with my ever-slower computer and was thinking about buying another, but decided to wait. I bought this. Easy to set up. And it works GREAT. Much faster connection than what my computer had. So all my web stuffs seems much faster. I was a bit worried that it might be slow on the USB 2.0 port, but no. It's a fantastic upgrade to my old computer. I guess I can postpone that new computer purchase a bit longer! {BTW: I don't carry my laptop around much; it pretty much stays on my desk. I am using the included cable so I can place the adapter in a location up off the desk, closer to the router--which is two rooms away.)
