I didn't know what I really needed when I went in to the store. I was just told that you'd have whatever it was. I'm not sure the clerk understood what it was that I needed, either, but he pointed me to the options and I bought it by price, because I was told it would be around $50. Good guess, as it was just right. It was easily installed, thank goodness, as neither of us have tech skills.

Plugged it in and connected no issues. Worked with 5G and a really old 2.4GHz. If you need a wireless connection for an older desktop like me I could recommend the Netgear.

Quick setup had my desktop connected and up and running in no time. Performance has been solid!

I bought this product because my older wifi adapter was not Windows 8 compatible. When looking for a new wifi adapter, this product had the compatibility right on the box. Set-up to my computer was simple (plug it in) and installation was easy (run program), but even for someone who isn't completely familiar with computers can use it because the instructions were very clear and easy to understand.

The Netgear Network Genie software which is installed at installation from the CD does not work with Windows 8.1. Therefore you can't configue the device to connect to your network unless your router supports WPS. With WPS you can get a connection with your router and aquire an IP address. After that, you can access the internet., but remember: No WPS equals no wireless connection.

Well priced wifi option. Decent range. Easy installation and connectivity.

I wanted to keep my computer in the basement, but did not want to drill holes in my floor to tie in to the modem that is upstairs. The net gear was right on time!

The RangeMax is a great little alternative to the traditional internal card. NetGear's software for set-up takes a bit to get used to, but, once you find your way around you should be off and running within minutes. Once set-up the UI is rather nice. You can readily see what network you're connected too, including traffic stats, which is a great benefit when testing performance at extended ranges.

I bought this to use w/ a desktop computer, remote from our FIOS location - it was easy to set up and works great. My only complaint is that I have a weak signal and therefore not the quickest data transfer, but it's workable. I do think this is a function of distance from the router, and not the Wireless-N USB adapter.

No VERSION # listed on the box. Only a Model #. BEWARE ... use is "Version sensitive" ... Will NOT WORK with all TV's, such as Panasonic UNLESS A VERSION # 2. No one in NET GEAR TECH SUPPORT, after hours of calls and countless attempts could provide a VERSION #2, NOR WOULD NET GEAR CUSTMER SERVICE. How would you like to be told, "TRY AMAZON.COM" ...at 2 to 3 times MSRP. Forget about NETGEAR ... challenge just getting thru a conversation. Packaging a Product that shows MODEL # ONLY on its box ...but it's function is VERSION SENSITIVE ... No one at NETGEAR addressed it ..they REPEATEDLY "danced" around it. Finally gave up and returned my purchase to Best Buy .. who, bye the way, spent over an hour on the phone with NET GEAR TECH & CUSTOMER SUPPORT ... and GOT NOWHERE in an attempt to get a MODEL3951V2 . Pitiful.

This was exactly what I needed. Great connection, high speeds. No complaints.

I have an older PC that needed to be located in a room that doesn't have a wired internet connection, and the PC doesn't have a wireless adapter in it. This USB adapter really saved the day because it brought wireless internet where it was needed. Quick, easy setup and the product really works. I now have connectivity in a room where there was none. Easy setup with included cd. Pop in usb port and your ready to go. Located pretty far in my house from router but getting excellent wireless speeds.

Great adapter. Made my father's 6 year old computer much faster when surfing the net. All my network equipment is Netgear both at my house and all my family's.
