High Quality Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had this Netgear router for several months now and have had zero issues with it. It is fast, simple to set up, and when I have guests over they have no problems with connecting their devices to our secure network.

Good Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router due to the fact my old one was losing connections. I did a lot of research on which router I wanted. I was going to go High-End, however, I can't justify spending over $100 for a Router. This router seemed like the best decision. It has simultaneous dual-band, QoS and the USB port. None of my previous routers had that. So it was a big plus for me. Now, I was deciding on which brand would be preferred, it seemed like most people would go for the Linksys or Netgear brand. I like the new style of the Linksys routers, however, I'm old school....I like to see activity lights on my router and unfortunately, for some reason Linksys decided not to put activity lights on their new routers. I know it's kind of silly, but like I said, I'm used to seeing lights on my router. I was a bit skeptical on Netgear since I had owned one in the past and it was horrible but I decided to roll the dice and get it. This unit has great range (Reaches 3 floors and I still get all bars on my wireless connection), awesome speed and some neat features. Overall I would recommend this unit to anyone looking to hookup multiple computers, smartphones, tablets and game systems. You won't be disappointed.

Excellent Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace a Linksys router that, after about a year of use, began dropping my cable internet connection. Seeing the reviews here I figured this router should be okay. It is so easy to set up, so easy to setup for security its a joke. The speed is at least twice the old Linksys router. I use this for up to six users in a pretty big home. Every user has seen massive improvement in performance. This is one of the best tech products I've acquired recently. I couldn't recommend it higher.

Great Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router was a breeze to setup. I just bought a house and finally got cable internet. I originally had been using a Linksys WRT54G2 router at my parents, and never had any problems with it for the 4 years we've had it. So, I decided to get the Linksys E1200 when it went on sale at BB a couple weeks ago. That was a wasted purchase. It wasn't that setup was difficult, it was trouble shooting. It kept broadcasting a signal that had no connection to the internet. Even a wired connection didn't work. It just so happened that while in line to return it another woman with a similar model had the same issue. So, I went back and picked out this one. Wow, what a difference. Setup was a breeze. All I had to do was a few personal tweaks to the settings, and voila! Done. I had lightning fast internet. Even with my 8 year old Dell Dimension desktop the internet is a rocket. I've read about people having issues with the longevity of this product, but as of right now I would recommend this router to anyone. The only negative I have is that it was a little pricey, but I guess other brand's dual band routers are about the same price.

Easy to use-- and works!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did quite a bit of research before replacing my old Belkin router, even though there was a learning curve because I wasn't sure what I needed. This router turned out to be the right purchase for me. Not only was it easy to set up (I love the push and play feature for most of my devices), the range seems to be perfect for my small house. I can't speak to how it would be for someone in a larger home, but it works perfectly for me. Unlike my Belkin, it never drops signal. My Belkin would mysteriously stop working at least once a month, and sometimes it would go through a period of several days in which it would do this often. This router hasn't done it once.

Great price/performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router for three main reasons: it has two different frequencies for two different networks, it has a USB connection to create a shared drive and it was only $60 during Black Friday (2010). I set up the 5 GHz network for audio/video products (Apple TV, Apple Airport Express) and the 2.4 GHz network for data (laptops, iPods, etc). Both have been working quite well and I am not dropping the connection from my Airport Express like I used to on my old router. I set up a 230 GB USB drive as a shared drive and have had no problems with it from any PC. There are two other features that are on it that I was not aware of when I purchased it: It actually has a third network to be used as a guest network and it can also be used as a wireless access point (to forward traffic to another wireless router - typically used when you have poor coverage within your home). I used the guest network once but still had to enter the device's MAC address (since I used MAC filtering). I thought the set up was very easy. However, I have set up routers many times. It might be more difficult for a beginner.

Great All-Around Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I researched several routers and then went to BB to talk to a rep about which one would be best. I spoke to Jonathon at the Turner Hill, GA store and he was very knowledgable about routers and computer networking in general. He directed me to this router and indicated that the only difference with this model and the 3700 is the latter has gigabit which I did not need. Therefore, I got this model and it is great. I had this thing set up in about 15 minutes. The speed that I am getting from it is amazing, although I replaced my modem at the same time with the Motorola surfboard 6121, so the huge increase in speed may be attributed to both pieces of equipment. Nevertheless, they work great together as I am getting up to 25 mbps on my desk top computer and as high as 17 mbps on my notebook. In all, I have one desktop, two laptops, two smart phones, and two dish hd/dvr boxes working on my network and the system is holding up great. As far as range goes, I live in a moderately-sized ranch home and my set-up is in the master bedroom on one side of the house. There is one spot in my kitchen where I don’t get a very good signal, but everywhere else is great. Also, the bright blue circular light in the middle can be turned off by holding it down for about two seconds and then releasing it. I am happy with my purchase.

Good Choice for Us
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This cost a little more than I hoped to spend, but I am still very pleased. Installation was easy (and I am not a techie). We now have 2 networks -- different speeds -- which reach to all areas of the house. The design of the feet means you can face the router whichever way makes sense for your physical setup -- minimize cord tangles and position unit with a clear view.

It's good, but don't expect to much
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I thought this would be an upgrade to my Cisco/Linksys WTR-310N V2, but I really didn't gain much. I was looking for greater coverage, I have a fairly large home (2800sq single story), the router is in a room at the northwest corner, so coverage at the opposite side of the house was not as good as I would like. Coverage did improve some, but only after investing a couple of hours experimenting with different router placement in the room. The same results may have been achieved with my old router if I would have invested this time working with it. What I did gain was dual band capability, which doesn't matter to me because I don't have any devices that are compatible with the 5Ghz radio, so I turned it off. I also gained the Guest network capability, but am disappointed that I cannot rate limit the guest network. Overall the router works well, but I wish I would have spent a little more for the next model or two up the line. If your looking for a good router, with good coverage, price and feature set, this one is great, but I was looking for just a little more. I do have full coverage through out my home, at least 3-4 bars even in the farthest spots from the router with my laptop. but other devices like Xbox, tablet, and phones are only getting 2 bars.

5 Stars So Far!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have had this router for just under a month now and so far have been very impressed. Much easier to set up than my old links and much faster, although it should be because I upgraded to a faster one. Have had no problems as of yet with lost signals. We have a Will and a laptop that watch netflix, sometimes at the same time, with no problems. My links, which was smaller, couldn't handle that. We have an X Box and two desktops hard wired through the Ethernet and so far there is no issues at all. A lot of the reviews say after a while they began to have problems so I waited till now to give my review but will come back if I get the issues they talked about. Just a note, Netgear has a similar model that is $50.00 more and the only difference is it has more Ethernet connections so if you don’t need it don’t spend the extra bucks. Great buy

Not the best but good enough!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is plenty fast, plus I only needed it to go less than 25 feet. I have no problems with it what-so-ever! It does what it's supposed to do, period. There are other brands which are cheaper and some that are more expensive, this was what I thought was best for me and I went with it and am pleasantly surprised. Easy to set up too!

Easy setup, great range, very fast connection
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Netgear was very easy to use and the setup was not a hassle at all. Especially after reading the manual to see all of the neat tricks that it can do. The range is excellent and it brings up web pages really fast whether you are on wired or wireless. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a new router.

great performance and features at a reasonable $
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was long overdue to replace my old 53 Mbps Netgear g router which was terribly slow and kept dropping connection. This new N router was super easy to start up and secure because of the preassigned IDs and passwords. The multiple connections available allowed me to reset one ID to my old SSID name and password so devices don't need to be reset (unless I want to do so). Running my laptop on the new SSID and my Wii on the old one. It's 3 times as fast as my old g router on my b/n devices and hasn't dropped a connection yet. It's installed in the basement family room of our split entry ranch and has great signal strength in all rooms. Note that the fastest speed (300Mbps) is assigned to a third SSID and I think it requires that your device be a/n capable. Apparently none of mine are since they don't "see" that preassigned SSID. Hopefully this faster SSID will be useful in the future or to visitors with newer/better devices than I have.
