Great for Internet as well as Internet @ TV
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router was very good. It was easy to install. I called Netgear and they were able to walk me through setting it up. Overall my internet has been working great. There are a few interference here and there once in a while. Other than that It was good for the price. I live in a 2 Bedroom condo so It was perfect for the size. It works well for my Netflix being streaming to my television as well as my other apps on my Tv.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i heard alot of bad rep for netgear, i did alot of research before making my decision. i had a belken n router(MIMO technology) and after almost 2 years it just started to give out while playing on xbox-live. i thought it was ISP gave them a call and had to reconfigure the modem and i still got booted off live. i said screw it went out to my best buy stood in front of all the routers they had asked the rep a couple of questions then making my final selection on this router. when i got home i followed all instructions went smooth just for one part when it said that there was an update for the firmware i let it update it, i left it alone so i wouldnt mess anything up and when i came back it said that there was an error. I clicked ok and when i check the the firmware it was successful ( weired, yes ) . in about 15 mins bada bing bada boom i was surfing. played on line found matches in seconds way better/faster then my belkin (wont be getting belkin anymore) long story short after a couple of of days of owning this wonderful router....... i like it =D.. gigabit and ethernet, to me there all the same idk and cant tell the diffrence only for the price

MAC user likes this router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I spent several hours researching routers. I am a MAC only user but was not sure if I should spend $180 for an airport extreme. I am not a tech person but i do appreciate quality things. I set this router using the install disc and it took 10 minutes. 9 minutes were installing firmware and and other misc downloads automatically. It was SUPER simple to set up. Its replacing an older $60 netgear - g router. Router is on the 3rd floor of my home and it work fine 30 feet from my front door. May have gone longer but there is no need. current Macbook pro 17", late 2010 Macbook pro 13", ipad, (2) iphone 4 in my house hold.

Good for my home's uses
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router has a good speed and can carry numerous devices without using the 2nd band width (Tablets, smart phones, a pc, and gaming console all at the same time) . However some of my N speed devices had a problem fining the 2nd signal. Good range, and reliable for the most part. Had to only reset the router once since purchase, which is a lot less than other routers I have used.

A necessary item when using my tablet at home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first router and I was a bit confused with so many choices at the store. The sales associate was a big help and I think that I did well. The dual band feature allowed me to pick the band with the strongest signal thereby giving me more range. It was easy to install and has provided smooth HD streaming when watching a movie in the cloud. So far it has not let me down.

High speed and easy to set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I paid a little more for this as I was told it would be high speed with my high speed cable internet connection. They were right. Set up was a breeze with the download from the Neatgear web site. Easy to set up a secure WiFi. I am not a geek, and it was easy for me. Good signal through walls and reaches at least 100 feet through 3 walls. Works great with smart phones too.

Great for home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The N600 so far has been a very good router. I have a few devices that are able to pick up the 5Ghz band so that is helpful to limit all my devices using the same band. I have roughly 8 devices on the network and I don't have any throttling at all. The laptop tested in all rooms (1800 sq ft) and had no problems pulling 30Mbps down and 1.9Mbps up. Overall I have no problems streaming netflix and hulu to all parts of the house on the iPad and Roku box. I think the range sometimes ebbs and flows, but it is mostly a good signal no matter where in the house. I'd recommend for anyone with 1000 to 3000 sq ft. The router has a cabability to broadcast up to 300Mbps + 300Mbps. I have yet to run into a residential service that can pull those kinds of speeds, but it's nice to know that I'm not limited. I think for the money, it's a great value.

Great buy Love it_first impression will update
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this because the one I really wanted has been discontinued at best buy (3300). This had all the same specs but is on sale at $20.00 more, however its a steal. I have Charter and followed the directions for hook up and it was recognized right away. The wireless set up was done with the CD. Now one thing I wish is that they would have three set up catergories, novice, intermediate, expert. then novice should not have any thing that would confuse anyone that has no idea of what all these strange words mean lol. The only problem i really had was changing the admin name and password. I dont know even now if i did it right but it appears that i did so i guess its ok. Love the connectivity and speed. My desktop appears to run faster. I will benchmark it later. I have had no disconnects and If i do i will change the lower Mhz to a higher one. All in all I had it up and running in about 25 minutes and that is because i tried to be double sure what i was doing even though the CD installation is a breeze.

Excellent unit, Great performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I replaced my old NetGear which had given many years of faithful service and still works. This unit was very easy to install and has great range and speed. Can;t comment on reliability, but if old unit and ones ones owned by my brother and other friends are any example it will provide many years of service. It also connects to my iPod Touch and Kindle much faster.

First Router Ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is the first router I ever set up and it was easy to set up. The set up instructions gave me a little trouble, but after I figured out what they ment it went well. Great range was out in backyard and the hook up was fast and the speed was a lot faster than I thought it would be.

Best Router EVER
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is my first review of a product. Not because I am not into products but simply because I don't have the time. I am indeed taking the time out to say that the NETGEAR N600 is the best router I've ever used. I purchased it about two years ago and it works amazingly well. Not Only that but it looks really stylish especially the blue lights at night. I have an iPhone, one Blackberry, one Nokia, my new Samsung TV, a Sony smart device and two laptops connected to it and it works so well. For those who have left negative feedback about this product, I recommend you to exchange it with another N600. You might have gotten a router that isn't well and that can happen, but I really recommend this one. Don;t be afraid and go for it. Best Buy has been great with me and sure has great policies and I'm sure they wont give you any hard time. Good Luck and GO FOR IT. Remember I've had this device for about two years and it's great as new!!! "Salam" Peace!

Thrifty buy with fair performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Nice price for capability. Installation simply but required some instruction from access provider. Performance has been questionable, work as advertised 97% of the time unnoticed but the unit drops connectivity 3-4 times a month. When it does the unit has to be reset sometimes repeatedly. Usually drops off when new items are connected. Highly recommended by Best buy associates but wish I had read previous reviews which referenced frequent loss of connectivity before making the purchase...I would have spent the extra to get a Linksys system...had one of those for 7/8 years recalling only 3 or 4 issues over entire time.

Great for a net junkie
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an outstanding product. Have had this product for over a month now and no problems at all. Very easy to get inside the router and do all of your port forwards/triggers. Hands down this is worth the price. This is just a cosmetic but the lights are pretty cool. Specially with the room being dark it puts off a nice calm blue color.

Great Purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This the best wireless router I have ever used. I have no accesss problems anywhere in or outside my house. Setup and startup was so simple, I did it without help from the the kids. We have multiple wireless devices, and they all work great with this router. We even do a lot of printing from wireless devices with no problems.

Why did I wait so long?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After evaluating the home network requirements of my family, I decided I needed an upgrade. I went with NETGEAR to replace my outdated U.S. Robotics wireless router. I am so glad that I did. Our home is 2400+ square feet and I needed to use a Wi-Fi Range/Signal booster to get decent Wi-Fi connectivity to a room on the opposite end of the home. With this router from NETGEAR, I no longer need the signal booster. Internet connectivity and video streaming is super fast. In addition, I am able to load balance and throttle network speed due to the ability to have three networks in one. The 2.4g network is for the older and slower desktops. The 5g is for the newer notebooks, online gaming, and HD streaming. The ‘Guest’ network is for visitors to our home. Admittedly, for a beginner or someone that does not like to read the manual first, initial setup could be a little intimidating. However, the instruction manual is not lengthy and someone taking his or her time should be able to setup this router. I have been in the computer industry for quite a while so setup was easy for me.

Not sure I needed dual band, but it works
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I still have everything on 2.4 GHz band, so I don't know if I needed the dual band feature, but I may upgrade other areas of my network later to take advantage of the 5 GHz band. That said, eveything works well. Range and speed are improved from my old router (another Netgear), and set up was fairly easy. No complaints here.

The range is very good, signal is strong and was easy to set up. I use this for a laptop, smart phone and blu-ray connection to internet (added adapter for connection) for business & personal use.
