i use all netgear routers for my office and my home office. it's great equipment and this item was on sale. the technology has advanced so much that i can get this high speed router for a great price. i use this in my home office where i have two computers linked up to it plus i have my xbox in the living room hooked up to it. it's streaming movies from netflix with no problems and has no issues connecting up with xbox live. love it, i am probably going to update a couple of the routers in my office to this one.

my new laptop stopped connecting to my old router , 5yrs old. this new one done the trick. its got good range for a low end router and good speed . i started to get one of them big high dollar ones, glad i didnt , this one works great. 3,500 sq ft house and all gadgets can pick it up from any room. if it can just last 5yrs like the last netgear i'll be happy.

    Breakthrough wireless networking

We replaced our 4 year old wireless-G router with this one and it has been a breakthrough in speed and reliability. I routinely connect at 300 Mbps compared with 54 Mbps with the old router. In addition, the connection has never dropped. I also like the USB port to connect our external hard-drive to our network. I highly recommend replacing your older Wireless-G router with this one. My only feedback to Netgear is that bright blue connection light doesn't need to be as big and bright - it can be distracting.

We always had problems with our previous routers, but this one is WONDERFUL! We could even turn off the signal to my mean sister's computer when she was making us mad! ha! but seriously, my husband used it for online gaming (PS3, COD games) and loved it. I got to stream movies and tv shows while he was playing. Our other router never would let us do that. Love it!

This router is very easy to set up and use. I have it located in my upstairs office. The only complaint that I might have (and this may be true for any router) is my Samsung Blu-ray player and Samsung TV sometimes have trouble connecting to it. I'm not sure if it's my equipment or if the router is too far away at 28 feet on a different floor. I have had no problems with my ipad, mac workbook pro, or I my Android Thunderbolt connecting. I like the fact that I can connect on two different bands.

I had no problems so far with this item. Its fast easy to use and works great with my new products. If there is something you don't know you can call Netgear withing the first couple of months and they will help you out. They helped me with setting up the usage of the 5ghz band. Turns out you must have the right adapter for your computer to see it. The only problem is the huge blue light on the side of the router. It doesn't bother me because I keep outside of my bedroom so it is like a nightlight. But for people that keep it in their bedroom it probably will keep you up all night if you don't cover it up.

I upgraded to this model from an lesser one and am extremely glad I did. My husband plays PS3 a lot and with our old router we always had issues connecting to the internet, my laptop wouldn't work wirelessly, it always said the router was too far, even when sitting right next to it! With this new one I have no problems what so ever. Both my ancient laptop and brand new desktop connect with no issues anymore and my husband hasn't had any problems with his games.

Has improved our internet speed greatly, and with 4,000 square feet to cover it works in all corners of our home. Having a dual band router helps to share the load.

The NetGear N600 is easy to configure, easy to use, and has been extremely reliable. There are more features than I will need, but having options like a potential 'guest' network setting is great. I use the device for wirelessly connecting a computer to the Internet, as well as for wirelessly connecting a BluRay player and a LED TV to Internet based media sources. Set up was easy, downloads are fast, and there have been no issues or concerns to date. The NetGear N600 was so reliable that a few weeks later I purchased a second unit on behalf of a friend and installed in at his home the same night.

We got this on sale, and it works wonders. Incredible speed and power, and the installation could have been done by a semi-trained chip, it was so easy. I can run games WHILE downloading stuff AND streaming music. Amazing.

i bought this for my wireless internet connection at my vacation villa in Florida. it was to replace one that had been quite easily hacked by someone. this is quite foolproof, i could even set it up by going online and downloading the software as i do not have a cd drive in my notebook. it was recomended by a guy in your Davenport store , and it works just fine. I like the idea of 2 bands , 8 antenna and my kids love the flashing LED's on the side (you can turn them off if you like)

I came home Friday night & surprise surprise my trusty Linksys 310N failed me again & for the last time! Did my research & reviews that night & first thing Sat I picked up this as a replacement. Wow I wish I did it sooner. The signal quality alone was worth the purchase. The dual band also comes in handy & my new MacBook Air is taking advantage of the 5GHZ. I was also able to play games today on my PS3 using wireless, something the Linksys always struggled with, Set up was a breeze as long as your already familiar with WIFI, it does come with a installation CD but I didn't need it. As far as the BRIGHT NetGear logo light on top no worries just press the button & it shuts off. Not sure why people are complaining about that though no big deal. The setup window also has an autoupdate option which is great since Linksys you always had to check it yourself, download the file and update the router. As always since user feedback is what helped me make the call to buy this I'm paying it forward now & giving it my recommendation...Get it, you'll be very pleased.

Good N dual band router for home use

So far this router is running circles around the Belkin dual band router it replaced. I like the guest networks so guests can access web without accessing my network. Lower band radio is stronger than higher bandwidth radio in terms of reaching all rooms of my house. I relocated the router to the main floor and I can receive wifi from the basement to the upper level. This device supposedly allows for easy wifi connection setup via pushing the big blue button on the front but I tried it for several devices and it never worked. Much faster to connect manually using the shared key.

I really like this router - it's much more reliable than my previous one, which was an older Cisco. Fast setup. I like the password protection it came with. The "not so great" part up above is only because I couldn't think of anything wrong with it, so I said it only comes in blue. I would've preferred Iron Man red and gold. :)

Router with great features but no Mac Time Machine

I have returned this router after a few weeks as I was unable to get an attached hard drive to work with Macintosh Time Machine software. I was informed that it would work with Time Machine but that turned out to be not true. This is a great router with many excellent features. Dual SSID's one for each 2.4GHz and 5 GHz channels gives much higher data rates for mixed networks. Guest login on each band gives Internet only access to keep prying eyes off of your junk! Good signal strength and Apple sharing but no Time Machine support had me (reluctantly) returning this item.

My old Wireless-G router died today; I picked up this one and am glad of the choice. It took less than 5 minutes to install and add our computers, and network changes on our Blu-Ray and Roku boxes and cell phones were extremely simple. My husband and I were slightly let down by how easy it was, as we were planning on an hour of teeth-gnashing like when we got the last router.... Seems quite fast, connection is fine, very good product for the price.

I was very happy with this product. It installed and everything works with it a printer that previously did not work with the old router. My son has not had to reboot it since it was installed something he had to do all the time with the old one for his xbox live. I have been gotten dropped like I had in the pass. good router
