Finally, a good wireless router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well, after having an old, old router for quite a while, which was one of the bottlenecks in my internet, and then purchasing and having to take back another brand name unit due to several issues (not going to name it here but I've written a review), I have finally found a wireless router that is as easy to set up and get working as you think it should be. I followed all the directions to the letter, and this piece of equipment has been working flawlessly for about a month now. We've got three laptops, an Xbox 360 and a couple of PSP's all hooked up wirelessly, and not once has it lost connection, not once have any of my devices not been able to find it, not once have any of my pc's had a problem connecting to our 500gig external hard drive wired into the USB slot. Not once has it given us a bit of a problem. The router utility screens are clear and easy to understand, setting up a wireless security system and connecting all our devices was absolutely painless. I'm not saying there aren't other good, or even better, wireless routers out there, I'm sure there are, but I can't believe there are any that are easier to setup and use. Good job NetGear.

Reliable with easy set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had this router for over a month now, and am happy with it so far. Set up was a breeze, but when I went to download the NetGear Genie it did not let me at first. I went back the next day and it was fine. No problems since. I stream movies from netflix through my PS3 and have had no problems so far. Admittedly, this is a little more range than I needed for my small apartment. But I wanted to be able to stream movies and do online gaming with no problem. I do love the fact that you can turn wi fi on and off with the press of a button on the router itself.

Excellent Product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My last Netgear router lasted for 4 years, which i am told is unheard of. So, when it finally died, I knew i was going with Netgear again. Upgraded to this model (from 54Mbps) since we now have 3 PCs and an iPod connected, plus i work from home a lot. Great signal strength, even at the opposite end of the house, and very easy to set up and configure. STRONGLY recommend!

Good router for home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router because the previous one (netgear) was not able to give me higher speed. This one has improved the speed and the installation was easy. Range is average.

Excellent Router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Christmas we got a second Xbox so I figured it was time to upgrade from my old Linksys G. I decided to give the RangeMax Dual Band mainly because the simultaneous 2.5 and 5.GHZ capability it will not become outdated as more gadgets start transmitting on the 5 GHz band. Beware of dual band routers that still can only do one band or the other at a time. (2.5 or 5) I have had it for over a month and I am very happy with it. It supports both kids Online Xbox sessions, while I am streaming video through the Wii and my wife is on the web. All of this without anyone complaining about lags. I was delighted to find out my Laptop has a 5 Ghz dual band network band, which is now the only device hooked up to the higher band network I created on RangeMax. Webpages paint as soon as the Webserver sends it. Even though the Router is hooked to my Cable modem on the second floor, I can even bring may laptop down to my basement and still get 4 bands of signal strength and 54 MPS. I was very very easy to set up and enable 128K bit security. Once set up it was a snap hooking in all our game consoles, my sons Itouch and PCs. Streaming video is very smooth all our game consoles and desktop. Strangely enough streaming on my laptop is choppy, but as mentioned it is the only device on the 5 Ghz band, so its probably something to do with my card. I am thinking I hooking up our External Hard Drive(pirated from an old Desk Top that died) as a network drive through the Rangemax's USB port, which is another nice feature. If you are looking for a wireless router upgrade without breaking the bank, the RangeMax dual band gives you a lot of bang for your buck!

Netgear Scores again!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've used many different brands of networking equipment from Cisco, D-link, Sonicwall & more. And Netgear consistently scores high in Value, Ease of installation and ease of use. I purchased the N600 for its dual wireless network capability. I was hoping for a little better signal strength but I'm constrained by a brick structure more than anything else. Throughput on the N600 is excellent. The only thing that would make this a 5-star rating would be a higher signal strength to cover a wider area. Other than that high marks for the N600.

Great router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We bought this router after trying to switch to a different brand and we are nothing but happy. The set up was quite simple, and the entire process took us about 20 minutes (compared to hours and then days for a different brand). I like being able to set up my own network name and password - we always had Netgear models and realized other brands didn't always offer this option. We sometimes run 3 laptops and 1 desktop at home, and we regularly watch movies off Netflix. This router never gave us any problems and does what it promises.

Very good product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Lets me use my new wireless electronics and still have other items wired. It has a great speed and I can use it wireless everywhere in my house. The thing I love the most is hooking a external hard drive to it to either share info or use as a back up device. Just make sure you set up your network password on the netgear web site so your neighbors cant use the wireless to slow your internet down. The blue light on the side can be turned off by pushing it like a button no need for it to be on unless you think its cool. : )

extreemly set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.this is the first time i've used a wireless router, so i was nervous with the set up - wondering if i was going to be okay doing it. everything was very smooth. the router seems to work great; the connection to my lap top works great, but to the wii... that's another story. i believe that it's the wii and not the router since i've heard similar issues by other wii users. for example, using in the same room, netflix will start up a show/movie on the lap top right away, while the wii will retrieve and then stop in the middle of the show...

easy to install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace an older Netgear router and this was the easiest installation I have ever done. Even the interface on my computer was so much easier and better then the old one was when I installed it years ago.

Great router for the price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have multiple networking devices in my house. 5 laptops, 3 desktops, 4 smart phones, 3 tablets. Everything works great, big speed improvement over my last router. Easy to install and configure - also for gaming people the port forwarding configuration for times when you need it was also super easy to configure. The router sits in the basement and even on the second floor of the house, reception is still strong.

Works as it should - easy set up for a first timer
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This was my first time setting up a wireless network, it couldn't have been easier- practically installed itself! Installed in my office on the lower level of my tri level home. Works fine for computers and phones on all levels including the basement and in my detached shop which is across the house and 100+ feet away from the router.

Nice router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this for less than $90, replaced a 140 Netgear RangeMax Next N router, that one used to drop signal through out day, yes I am near a microwave and cordless phone which does not help, but this has not dropped once in a week, love the dual band and has guest settings, only issue I seem to have found is if I connect all my systems to it, then after all setup I select not to broadcast SSID the systems seem to not be able to reconnect automatically as my other router did. But this is a great router.

My 2nd router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.hello every one well i am not sure how can i review this router not really good with the specifications and everything but here what i like and don't like make simple for every one my house is SQFT: 1,582 i have wifi all over even at the backyard and front yard. its a 1 story house so im not sure how would it be if you have a 2 story house. I bought this for the purpose of gaming and hooking up to 11 devices my net provider said the more devices i have the slow my bandwidth is but not all are devices are on at the same time so i am still having a reliable connection sometimes lol i have call my net provider to rest there router because the signal don't interact idk why the only thing that i don't like about the router is that 2.5ghz and 5ghz all cross interact with each other i have a wifi usb adapter on my desktop that can be run on 5ghz which is faster the mbps on it various though but i have a weaker signal when im using 5ghz so ill be connect to 5ghz then i will disconnect and go to 2.5ghz it can be annoying sometimes or alot of times when im playing pc game or watching videos, so what i did i went inside the router settings and disable 5ghz since the connection is not reliable. i have added the two adapters that i have in case you guys want to run under 5ghz note micro usb only gives you 78mbps not 100 like stated in the box and does not run with 5ghz thank you for reading my review

Power Product!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product creates a nice range with the 2.4 ghz and a very powerful signal from 5 ghz within a confined area. I use these on oil rigs to light up a whole trailer house from the middle outwards.
