This is a great router for non-gamers!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router is a very good router for non-gamers. i am a gamer and the signal is weak however when you get signal it can handle online gamers such as Battlefield 4 at a minimum. When it comes to lag this has NO LAG! If you're a gamer though go for AC Router types.

Tech Guy Install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this device for a family member and installed it within their home network where they mainly use their Nintendo Wii to play movies along with a computer and laptop to get out on the internet. The installation was very straight forward along with the menu's for configuring security on the wireless side. If you are a home user who isn't very familiar with wireless routers, don't be afraid to purchase this one as it is very easy to use if you take the time to go along with the included documentation.

Great wireless router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I needed a replacement for my Linksys Wireless G that lasted over 8 years. I bought the Netgear based on reviews and price. So far, so good and I have the following devices connected concurrently: 3 laptops 2 mobile phones iPad Kindle Fire Printer Vizio SmartTV The range is pretty good also. I have the router tucked away in a closet on my 3rd floor. I can go outside in my yard and still get good connection. The USB slot is great also. I have an external drive that has all photos, movies, music, etc..that I no longer need to connect to a laptop to access. Its like having your own personal cloud.

Kindle crashed the internet often
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router was very easy to set up. All 5 computers were connected with ease. I ended up keeping my old Netgear router as this new model did not handle my kindle well at all. My kindle could get on the internet, but often it would crash the internet and I would have to reboot our internet's modem and reboot the router. I gave it a try for a few days, but gave up. I ended up giving it to a friend who needed a new router but only had two or three computers on his network. No kindle or ipad or anything.

Easy Network/Wireless Setup
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I am not a very "technical" person, so I was a bit nervous setting this router up. But let me tell you, this was the easiest setup ever!! The salesperson said to plan on taking up to an hour for setup. It took at the most 15 minutes!! I love this router and it works great with Netflix streaming--no pauses for buffering.

Works fine - no problems with connectivity
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Netgear works great - no problems connecting. I first connected it to my laptop pc - no problem. Then I tried to connect it to my desktop. After submitting the password (as I had done on the laptop) I thought I was done - NOT SO. They then wanted a PIN number!!???!!! Where was the PIN # - no where to be found. Had to call Netgear - they said I needed another pc to log into their website to get the PIN #!! Not a good set up. After getting the PIN # - no more problems. it works great.

Needs better setup instructions
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I got the router all setup following the basic directions. Plug in, turn on. Put in the set up disk with the ethernet plugged into windows 7 laptop. Followed the setup and used the recommended encryption. All was well with my laptop connected wirelessly. All the wired computers worked fine. None of the other wireless computers worked correctly. A Vista laptop connected to the network ok, but not the internet. The XP laptop would not even connect to the network. I tried to change the encryption to none but then nothing worked. I called tech support and got a nice Philipino named Ben. A little communication problem with a lot of "what did you say?". Spent an hour(61min) with him. The problem was the encryption. The "recommended" one was only good for windows 7. Had to change to WEP and add a new password. Then delete all the old connections in each laptop then reconnect, maybe a couple times. A lot of fun. When setting up yours, use your oldest operating system.

Good value, good signal range, install OK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were long overdue for a new wireless router. Our main computer is also all the way across our house with no direct line of site (~50ft, 3 or 4 walls in the way). As a result Skyping was pretty eratic. We're no longer have any breakup in our signal and the video is much better. The only problem I had was that I could not do the wireless installation for our desktop computer. I ended up hooking a laptop directly to the router to do the install and then I was able to do the wireless install for the desktop. Not sure if it was something on my end or a glitch... Aside from that we've been very happy.

Great wireless router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This unit is really easy to install. The connection genie makes it really easy to connect your computer to it as well. Pay attention to the 500 band, your current setup may not be able to use it, I had to upgrade my wireless card as well. Cell phones, tablets, game systems etc all connect to the 300 band with no problem. It's probably just me, but I feel like the connection is stronger, but the range is smaller than my previous N300 model. Setting up a Guest network is also easy so you can let friends use your wifi at home without them having access to your home network.

Solid performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a bit concerned with all the mixed reviews. However set up was easy and it has worked flawlessly for 3 months now. I really needed the ability to have the wirless programmed to turn off at night now that my high school kids are required to have tablets. The parental controls and the ability to restrict wireless access to certain times of the day have really made a difference.
