Great for WiFi
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this router because I frequently use multiple wireless devices simultaneously. When playing online games I have a considerably better connection using wireless than I did before using a 75' ethernet cable. I'm very happy with the results I get when playing XBOX360 or PS3 games online, and streaming high definition content using Netflix with this router.

Awesome!!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Had an old Linksys and saw this on sale for Black friday and said why not get something new and fancy. It looks good and easy to setup and has a usb slot on it. Right now I have my destop, two laptops hooked up on the network and a 2 TB external harddrive hooked up to the router directly. So now I am able to access the external harddrive with out having a computer on which is just hands down awesome. Only issue with it is the big bright Blue light. It will keep blinking because of computer activity. At first it looked awesome but after awhile it got annoying but for 59 bucks I can live with it

Best router for its money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This router replaced a Cisco medium performance because we needed a router for streaming movies and gaming. This Router was very easy to set up and is super fast. Takes 30 sec. to load a 2.5hr movie on Netflix and doesn't stop half way through to load more of the movie while you are watching it ( which the old router did). Someone can be watching a movie down stair, and upstairs and i could be on the computer watching youtube videos and there was no drag in the connection. Worth the Money to spend, have not used the USB connection yet.

Great Router, one flaw
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I get excellent coverage and thru-put with this router, and the ability to enable a guest network, utilize dual band, and track monthly data use is out of this world. The ability to connect and share a USB hard drive is very useful. The one issue I have is the blue dome light (which is also the auto-configure button). The documentation states that you can turn the light off, however even when "off" the router will occasionally flash (5 - 10 times) at high speed. Usually at 1 AM. Very distracting, and sometimes enough to wake me up.

Great home Wi-Fi router.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Finally got into the 21century. Dumped DSL for Comcast High Speed Internet. Got this router because I have 2 desktops that are hard wired & a laptop, X-box, Android phone & Blueray using WiFi. Was easy to install, setup & use. Has been great for us. Anyone with any idea how to work thru any computer set up should have no problem. I have been in my car in the driveway with my Android phone showing half signal strenth for WiFi connection(about 40 feet from router in the house). Am very happy with this router. Would recomend!

Great Router & Worth The Price
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a great router. We had D-Link before and it was junk. This is a slightly upgraded model, but worth it in performance and speed.

YAY!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace a Belkin wireless router that stopped worker after 15 months - just 3 months out of warranty. This router was on sale and I didn't want another Belkin. I had my network back up and running within 20 minutes! What a breeze! And it's been working great for about a week now with no problems (knock on wood!). I would recommend this to anyone!

Expected better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Based on many of the reviews, I really expected more range from this wireless router. Maybe it's because my devices are using the "G" and not the "N". Either way, the set up was extremely easy. We have a fairly large house. And with our old 8-year-old Linksys we were getting one - two bars in the back of the house. This gets the same. I didn't run speed tests or anything so I don't know if it's a more reliable signal. Overall, very pleased with it knowing we have a new wireless router that's of good quality.

Great router.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this router as a replacement for my (5 year) old router that died. Set up was fast and easy. Within 10 minutes I had 5 devices running off of it (2 game consoles, iPod touch, phone and printer). You can also download the NetGear Genie which will allow you to view usage and set controls for your network easily. You can set it to allow guests or not, and you can set certain hours that it's accessible. Overall, a great router for the money. My main use for it is for the PS3 and I have no complaints.

Easy set up, good coverage, but not for iPads?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. While the router was definitely easy to install and set up, it might take a user with more knowledge of wireless networks to effectively manage the wireless network settings needed to obtain a secure wifi network. Also, for whatever reason, our iPad constantly drops connection with this (and other) routers. While it might not necessarily be indicative of a flaw with this Netgear router, iPad users might wish to be aware of this. Aside from the iPad issue, none of the PC computers have any issues with this router.

Good router, but DO NOT install Netgear Genie
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The router by itself performs well, but when I installed the Netgear Genie App, it cut off all internet access except for a very intermittant signal. Comcast support could not determine the problem, and after a broken promise to have a level 2 tech call me within an hour, the new tech told me breezily that the problem was probably my computer. Took it to the Geek Squad in Woodbridge, VA, and after 5 days told me it was ready. They said they found no problems except for some malware. Connected at home and STILL could not access internet. Finally discovered cause when I uninstalled the Netgear Genie and (TA-DA!) had internet access. I don't think Geek Squad even tried to hook up my computer to the internet, so I ended up wasting $150. (I will NEVER go to Geek Squad again!( By no streach of the imagination am I a geek, but I still managed to solve a problem that neither Comcast nor Geek Squad could. (Or didn't really try to.)

My second Netgear wireless router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Upgraded to more powerful unit with new PC and kept with Netgear. Like the old one, it works great. The only thing I don't like is the constant use of terminology I know nothing about. Language could be more dummy user friendly. Four years ago I struggled setting up the orginal one because I had no idea what it all meant., Because it worked so well and I now know how to install and use it, I bought this current one. I'm very happy with it and recommend it to anyone, In the future I will buy Netgear again.
