Good product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is a very good product. I am disappointed in it's range ability. I had a Linskys and the WiFi reached our whole house. Now it doesn't reach my son's bedroom in the back of the house, and I have a small house. I wish I would have purchased the linsky instead. It doesn't cut out and seems fast but it just doesn't have as good of range on the WIFI.

Great Product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The USB storage is the selling point for this product. I expected more flexibility to set up users to access the storage device. But given my personal needs (very few users) it really meets my requirements. Performance -- I didn't anticipate an improvement connecting to the internet, but the improvement was significant. The only thing I would've done differently is wait for RewardsZone 10% off network equipment coupon before purchasing.

Great gaming router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My husband and I both play online games, and this router has been great for us. We have yet to have a problem with our connection speed, even while both of us are playing online at the same time. The price was right, and it was easy to install.

Solid mid-range router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Physical setup was easy; however I have no real computer or networking knowledge so getting all the household devices connected was a real pain. After finally getting everything to connect, I had real trouble getting everything to stay connected. The factory defaults were excellent, both SSID and password, but I had to call their tech support more than once before I got my random disconnection issues resolved. Tech's barely speak English, but once that hurdle was surmounted and they understood my problem they fixed it and haven't had an issue since. Very good router for the money, not overly complicated, no confusing options to set. Works fairly well out of the box with a little tweaking. My main complaint is not so much the hardware or the firmware (or the handy software you can download for each computer) but their awful tech support. Netgear is a great brand, but I still might choose another company next time if I knew they had English speaking techs.

Lacks Documentation
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. You get a small foldout instruction sheet with 6 panels on it. I went through all of the 6 steps and step 6 called for me to "Open a browser." This was on my main computer which is connected to the router by an Ethernet cable. Nothing! It wouldn't connect. Okay, they then suggested going to http://routerlogin.net. Still nothing. So, I turned off the modem and the router and then turned them back on modem first. NOPE! I then went to another computer in my home that is connected to it by an Ethernet cable. This one connected and I was offered Netgear's Genie. I downloaded that and took a look at the network map. It showed my main computer was linked too. I went back to it and it was now connecting to the internet. I don't know what fixed it If you go to their web site first at http://downloadcenter.netgear.com you can download the user manual for this router. It is a WNDR3400v3. It has 119 pages. Our XBOX connected up quickly. I just went to set up a connection and there next to the "BOTSNET" box was a Netgear box. I went to that and put in the password and it was going. The default password for each router is on the serial number plate. You can change it and if you forget it, you just hold down the reset button and go back to the original and start again. I liked the feature in "Genie" that lets you see the percentage of possible Wi-Fi that you are connected at and the data transfer speed. Our XBOX isn't in the best location for Wi-Fi and at around 86% I was still surprised at a link rate of 72Mbps!

This router is great if you live in an apartment!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Brought this router after a friend suggested it, and so far its been a great buy! It is extremely easy to use (although I had forgot to reconnect my PS3 to an internet source first, but that was my mistake). If your using a router provided by your cable service, take it back and pick this little gem up, you wont be disappointed if you live in an apartment as I do (I heard the range is not as good if you live in a house)!

good unit, fairly easy to install
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After spending an entire day trying to get the first unit to work, and having my cable company at my house for several hours, it was finally determined that the unit I purchased was defective. I packed it up and returned to Best Buy where the salesman also told me it probably was. I grabbed another, and after following the prompts (which never all appeared on the first unit) I finally got the unit to work, which it does nicely.

Works great!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Went to BestBuy for a router to set up streaming on my T.V. I was told that this model, instead of the larger one I intended to buy, would work just as well. I bought it and it works great. The staff at BestBuy is excellent and very informed about the products they sell. I saved money and got great results. That is why I keep coming back.

Great Router at an affordable price.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this router to replace my six year old linksys G router which was dropping signals and starting to die. The Blue Light that everyone talks about is bright but I pressed the button and the light shut off. The speeds of this router are much faster than my old one I can't believe how fast webpages load now as compared to before.

Great product
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installation was easy. I have multiple devices including smart TV, apple products, laptop, etc running off the device. Only disappointment is the strength of the 5 Ghz signal. This is my first wireless N 5 Ghz router of any type, so I'm sure if Netgear can improve on that or if this is the nature of the signal. I lose the signal when in the basement (with router on 2nd floor), but can easily switch to the 2.4 Ghz.

Easy to follow directions and simple set up
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not much to review. I've been using the Netgear router for a few weeks now with no issues. I thought it was a good idea for the company to ship the router with a unique, secure, preconfigured wireless setup that could be used securely right out of the box. I changed this immediately, along with the admin password, but it was still a pretty good idea for less experienced users looking for a hassle-free setup.
