I had to replace an old Mac Airport Express and was planning to get a newer model of the same. But when I saw this NetGear router I was impressed by the specs and the reasonable price. Setup was a breeze. My Internet connectivity is faster than ever with zero drops so far. Very happy with this purchase!

    Great signal, great price

We've only been using this for about a month, but so far I've been very pleased with its performance. I purchased it because our previous router, while state-of-the-art at the time, had trouble reaching the upper floor of the house (from the main floor). Setup was straightforward. We're in a WiFi crowded neighborhood, so resetting the base IP and other changes were necessary to operate effectively. The browser-based menu is easy, and the setup wizard for initial installation was a breeze. It's been great to be able to print, watch Netflix, and browse from any room in the house. For the price, I don't think this router can be beat. The most fun, though, was when our 17-y-old son saw it, took a picture, and posted it with the caption: "We have an Iron Man Router!!!" :-) (See the product picture if that doesn't make sense...)

My router quit and I needed one immediately. I went to Best Buy and they recommended one - not the most expensive but the one best suited for my needs. I brought it home and installed it very easily and began working on my computer in the same hour that my previous router had died! Now that is service!

    New NETGEAR N600

I bought this unit because my Linksys N150 died finally and I wanted N300 features. The Netgear N600 was only slightly more than the N300 and also added gigabit ports to the physical LAN connections which none of the others in this price range did. The interface is nothing to write home about but it gets the job done. It also offers bandwidth management features if you live in an area that has caps on how much you can use in a month. It can report how much you used or even send you alerts when you get near your cap or shut it off as well. I did find the device is a bit heat sensitive. I've kept all of my previous routers in the wiring cabinet that has all of the homeruns for cables in the house. This is a closed area with some slight air ventilation. The Netgear N600 though has 2.4 & 5 GHz antennas inside which make it put off more heat than previous devices I've had. I would start getting intermittent internet lossage and realized in the end it was the device overheating. Removing it from the area to a more ventilated location solved the issue.

Best for multiple devices and gaming.

Walked into best buy and received the best advice in purchasing this item. I have 2 iPhones, mini iPad, smart Vizio (Netflix -you tube), Direct TV, and PS3 online gaming. I enjoy playing sport games and MW3 online and never a lag. For Internet, I have the most basic wireless set up from Time Warner and this router does wonders by giving you the best and fastest gaming or download you can get. One I save money from having to upgrade my internet's bandwidth and two, I recommend match pricing as I did and saved 9.00 bucks. Finally, I have had this device for almost 4 years and anytime I walk across the street to my neighbors, I still have a solid wifi connection.

Best home router I ever had

I didn’t really know what all I was getting when I bought this router. I never by the cheapest but at the same time I don’t really need a high end router for home use, so I picked this router for $70. I only had it a day so far, but I am excited about it. The app for changing setting from you smart phone is neat, but what I really like is the web filter that can be set for users to block sites, and set time limits. It has 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks, plus a guest network for each. You basically have 4 wireless networks. Use the 5Ghz for your newer equipment that supports it with higher speeds and the 2.4 for older equipment. The guest network can be set the same, but guest can only use the internet and not access you network or computers. It also has a USB port to plug in a hard drive that you can map to any PC on the network or overt the internet. I am a network engineer so I can go on and on about this router, but this was what really surprised me for such a low cost router.

This solved our connection problems with multiple wifi devices including the new Xbox 360!!! Everything now runs at top speed. Note on installing it, READ the directions. The husband tried to install without them and got very frustrated, that is until he followed them and then it went smoothly!!!!!

I purchased this wireless router to replace an old Belkin Wireless G+ that stopped working. The Netgear router was easy to install and set-up. I am getting great reception throughout my home, including streaming HD movies through Netflix and Amazon On Demand. I would definitely recommend this router.

I purchased this router to connect my new Gateway laptop along with an older Dell desktop. The router worked extremely well out of the box. It also connected my older wired HP all in one printer with no problem for both PC's. The wireless range is great and the connections are fast! Easy setup.

I have a fairly complex home set up including wired and wireless users. Once the unit was in and the modem restarted every one was able to connect without any issues. The signal is very good throughout the house with no interferrance.

So easy to set up ,Also change your SSID and passwords to something you like. Just replaced Cisco Linksys Wrt160, kept dropping wireless and locks up. Only had for 14 months and had problems 5 months after buying it. Glad I went back to Netgear, had one 10 years ago and now this dual band router

I use this wireless router in my apartment with our 2 desktops, the roku box, and the wii. Has short range but have no difficulty using in our 600 sq ft apartment. Easy to install and good instructions for setup! And I'm not even really good with this stuff! I highly recommend this product. A+

Very good router for the price. I literally had it up and running in 2 minutes. Plug in 2 wires, then open up setup genie then the router did the rest. Auto setup as secured network.

Once it was set up it worked great and I've had no problems... but apparently the auto-set-up system isn't compatible with the Cox modems so I spent a lot of time on the phone with both Cox and Netgear to get it all set up. On the plus side the people at Netgear were very friendly and helpful.

After years of trouble with Linksys routers I purchased this Netgear N600. I couldn't believe how easy it was to get everything connected. We have two desktops, a laptop, a wireless printer and a Wii on our network and all connected immediately. Everything has been working perfectly ever since.

It works and was easy to set up. I paid more for the extra speed, but my printer wasn't compatible, so I had to used a lower speed, defeating the purpose of the extra money I spent. I had to call support to set up the wireless printer, but all three computers were super easy to set up.

This router was very easy to install. However, I am finding that it does not have as much signal as my neighbor's. I am thinking that you get what you pay for in this situation. I purchased it on a great deal on Black Friday, and it is fine for home use - we haven't had any problems with it.
