We have alot of wireless items in our home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I really thought this was a great value. After reviewing other people review I went directly to Best Buy to purchase this item. I must say with the wireless for video games and other items we have there as not been one single problem with any item using wireless since we hook up our new Netgear.

Buy something else..Netgear WNR1000 Faster
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The N600 router works... Not well though. After countless calls to tech support which clearly was not in the United States, I had to take the unit back to Best Buy and have it exchanged. The people there were friendly and very accomodating, the real problem is though this is now the 2nd one of these routers I have gotten and its performance is equally as bad. The WNR1000 Router I have is much faster...roughly 25-30% faster than the WNDR3400. I would like to have the WNDR3400 if it actually works...If anyone knows for a fact how to make this work correctly please let me know!!!! Sadly Disappointed in wasted time, money, and effort.....

Good price for great functionality...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good product with plenty of features. I'm taking advantage of both the 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless networks for added throughput. Only issue was one of the packet size settings needed to be changed (found out by calling customer service) to correct one issue with dropped connections.

Much better as far as speed and quality
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like it as far as using it for Netflix, fast. I do seem to be having an issue with the range on it to a couple of rooms in my home. I have it in center of home but dont get signal in one upstairs bedroom

Mostly works well.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Approximately once a week I am unable to connect to the router from my laptop. It takes me about 4-5 tries before it will connect. After that everything will go great for another week to 10 days. I am really not complaining because I can easily work around the problem.

Worst router ever
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I teach technology in a high school and wanted to upgrade the goodwill purchased netgear router I had purchased 5 years ago for my home with a new one. After 12 hours and 5 phone calls to Netgear, the technology support professional finally admitted they were having issues with this model. The only way to make it work with our 2 iMacs, 1 MacBook, HP printer and Lenovo PC laptop was to set static ip addresses to every device. The Netgear router was unable to assign dynamic ip addresses. Most of their support people (4 out of 5) were very friendly and tried to help, although one phone call was particularly torturous when the tech support person would repeat herself 5-6 times before letting me speak. Best Buy gave me store credit, I traded it in for a cheaper Belkin model 600 dual band that was up and working flawlessly in one hour. Buyer beware.

poor performance
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The net gear router was fairly easy to set up but had to be reset multiple times. Download speed was fast but when trying to fix problems I used their suggestion with my old router and it ended up being much more reliable . After set up there is very limited information on trouble shooting the device. The device had to be rebooted almost every day.

Would not go to router login for me
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this router because we've been having some issues with our phone company provided one. It's (supposed to be) a fairly simple operation to "install" a router. Plug it into your internet service (we have fiber, so that's an ethernet port in the wall). Turn it on, navigate to a web browser to set it up how you want it, or accept it's defaults. I finally (somehow) got it to recognize the router's web address, and it seemed to be trying to load, but it never got past "Detecting internet connection" or whatever the message was. It should be simple. Updated firmware on old router, will do more research now before replacing it. The netgear one is heading back to the store.

Great for an office at home
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the printer it workes fine doesn't seem to be going through alot of ink though the price is a little high for the casual person who just wants to copy or print pictures, I just wanted something that wouldn't break for no reason like my last printer (Epson)

Lacking Range
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit does not have the range I thought I would get in my 2000 Sq Ft home. With centralized placement, the ends of the house get less reception than my neighbors unit. Installation and Ease of use was great.

Didn't last very long, ok while it worked
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 6 months, my WNDR3400 router stopped working. Although none of my devices could connect to the network, I was able to connect to the internet if I connected to my modem directly. Although I'm pretty good at resolving home technical issues, I have not been able to get the router up and communicating for more than a day. I called Netgear but since my router is older than 90 days, they were only interested in trying to sell me a $120/year service contract. It was a nice router while it lasted but $80 for 6 months is definitely not worth it.

Great tracker of internet usage.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is your standard N+ router, but the great thing is that it can track your internet usage as well as has a few advanced features. I also love that you can connect a USB hard drive to it and all computers on network can use it as well as internet.

Pathetic tech support
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Before you buy this router, make sure you know that you only get tech support for 3 months and then you have to pay. I had difficulties setting it up due to a smart TV that was taking too much bandwith and disconnecting the router from the internet. I called tech support and the person was difficult to understand due to his accent, no fault of his own. He couldn't resolve my problem, read from a script, and repeated everything I told him in the form of a question. He told me that he was going to talk to someone and call me back, and then never did. I'm sure he just wanted to be done with my problem, and I gave him two phone numbers. Buyer beware if you have any problems!

great router
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Like the product and seems reliable, but it does have to have the cable unplugged and replugged almost daily to maintain its connection to the internet. Have replaced cable and consulted internet provider and this seems to be the only way it works.

Kids wanted more speed
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We had a d-link wireless-n router. Boys felt their games were "laggy". My boys noticed the improvement in their xbox gaming immediately. So far so good.

Router was very easy to set up and has good range.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall it was a very good purchase and achived what I needed in a router. My need was for wireless so I didn't the gigabit capability that was offered in the same brand that was an upgrade.

It did what it's supposed to do.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The geeks at Best Buy installed this. I think I would have had problems doing it myself. I had been having trouble getting my Internet signal from the front of the house to the back where my WiFi BluRay player is located. This gadget did the trick.
